You might be able to try price matching at EB or Myer etc.

HN, Oxley have always been alot more accommodating to price matching and bargaining than other HN in Brisbane.
Policy for HN (though some stores may match anyway):
Other HN's are not a competitor, therefore not requiring price match
Price matching is only for a place that is nearby and has stock
These are the policies though they are often more lenient with them. If you try to pricematch with this ad in NSW though it is very very unlikely to work

The rep said I would be the last person getting one for this price as both JB and HN made a pact not to price match them any more.

Just a qns abt this PS3 thing. Does any HDMI works with the PS3? I'm kinda confused with all these pricey HDMI cables that they are offering. CoD has HDMI going for 5 bucks before but JBHIFi has them selling at 38 bucks. Will be great if anyone could shed some light about the difference in HDMI cables for PS3 and whether it makes a huge difference in terms of display on flat panels.

I found no difference what so ever.
The only thing that should concern you is the build quality and colour choice.
even build quality wont matter too much if you're not moving the cable around too much…
I'm not expert, but from the reading i've done, there's no difference between expensive and cheap hdmi cables.

Tried in HN QV and JB HiFi City (VIC). HN doesn't have stock and if they do, they don't want to do price match, same with JB. Checked with HN Sunshine they out of stock

Tried Myer Sydney City and they won't price match as it's below their cost price of $469 (which also is the price they are selling currently).

I bought it from Dandenong Harvey Norman store for $328, the lady was fabulously nice,
Harvey Norman Nunawading was nicely refused, so as JB and Dick Smith as well in Nunawading,
Goodguys Nunawading was really terrible, the guy said they would match it if the original store (Warragul) has the stock, but they refused to match even after confirm the store has over 40 in stock. I went to store to argue as they mention they would match. They don't need to match it, and told me not to force them. I've spent 2-3 hours for this, and wasn't cool. I really wished to buy there at full price, and grap the warragul catalog and get 120% cash back (30 days price garuntee), but didn't want to take risk at the end. Anyway, this terribly bad guy from Goodguys rang the owner of shop, and confirm they don't match the price, which is higher than their cost. I had a real good feeling of Goodguys Nunawading, but had bad feeling of stores in Dandenong. However, it changed completely. I recommend Dandenong HN.

Enough! Shops should not be offering in their advertising to price match, if they are not prepared to live up to their promises. So what, if is below cost, that is part of price matching. Don't advertise price matching and then try and weazel out of it. We shouldn't need to have our lawyer with us when we shop because of the fine print in Price Match.
