  • I got the Pure Fi Anywhere 2 dock last sale and am very happy with the sound it's quite impressive for the size.

    • Yeah I have a Anywhere 2 and a S715I. Both are good but for the price I would definitely get the Anywhere 2. Comes with a better remote (more buttons) and is a lot smaller/lighter and is only about 25% less powerful than the S715I.

      • Tempted to buy a Pure Fi Anywhere - but I've been reading about a fault where it turns off by itself with quiet music - you guys ever have this problem?

        • Bought during the last deal, and have experienced the sound dying every few minutes when plugged in to the 3.5mm jack to my Mac. I just Googled to look in to it further, and seems this has been a problem since it's first release. If the sound's too quiet, it just powers down. Apparently keeping the source sound above 75% can help, but yet to test on mine.

Otherwise, haven't had a problem with the iPod Touch plugged in. And it's brilliant sound. 10 hour battery is a winner too.

        • I had the same problem with my anywhere turning off with my cheap chinese mp3 player. I fixed it by just turning the volume up on the mp3 player to maximum and just controlling the volume with the anywhere remote.

Bought Ultimate Ears 600 yesterday, received today, i am disappoint at the qualtiy

    • +1

Maybe my ears are just screwed up but I think all of these "expensive" earphones are just a con. I have about 6-7 different earphones and can't tell much of difference between the sound quality of them. Most important thing for me is the comfort.

      • Yep get a hearing check.

      • +1

"expensive" is right - $65 isn't expensive in the bigger scheme of things. Mind you, they should be a heap better than that crap that Apple provide.

      • +3

@Broden Jr - I'm guessing you're just listening to MP3s? If you listen to lossless formats, use in-ears on stage or work as a sound engineer, you'll hear a difference. :)

        • Doesn't have to be lossless, 256-320kbps is good enough for entry level "IEMs" (not quite an IEM but better than some other canalphones out there) like these, lossless would be pointless on these as the quality of the source just won't be reproduced.

        • I could tell the difference in a blind AB test between a flac and a 192mp3 on a free set of (very good for free mind you) headphones. Probably would have trouble in a more complicated test, but it does make a difference :)

Also the quality of the DAC etc will influence how good it sounds.

And Logitech aren't exactly famous for their outstanding audio quality either :P (but some of their stuff is alright at its price :))

      • Audiophile head/earphones are not for everyone. I use the UE u200 and have a friends CX300, can't seem to determine any difference in my music. FACT: I like my music loud and bassy

      • If you're one of those people who listens to doof doof loud on your earphones all the time, then it may be that your hearing is already stuffed. But before that, consider that your audio quality is also affected by quality of source material and quality of the source.

      • Are you hitting late 30s or early 40s? Cause if you can't tell the difference then your hearing might be gone mate, and if it's gone before you hit mid thirties that might be an issue.

        • +2

Crap. I'm 23 and struggle to tell the difference between apple headphones and $200 sennheisers.

        • -1

          @TnD,

That 40yo age related loss thing only applies to fairly HF sounds dude, almost at inaudible frequencies for the human ear anyway. E.g. 'mosquito' ring tone!

Differences in perceived audio quality are more likely to be related to untrained ears or simple individual differences in perception over the entire spectral range! ;)

        • +1

          @StewBalls
I think he was just referring to the fact that hearing can deteriorate over time because of exposure and by 40 years old, you will have had a fair amount of exposure to loud noises, depending on your environment.

        • +1

@ash XD mb come round to my place and see if you can tell the difference on my headphones vs your apple and sennheisers :) They're not the best but I would think anybody would be able to instantly tell the difference.

heck why not open up and have the Victorian edition of the Ozbargain Audio Convention and AGM

        • Haha Mark what do you have??

        • atm, only thing (decent) I've got is 1x Audio Technica ATH-AD700 (bought from a deal on OzBargain where I liked the rep even tho it wasn't the cheapest price ^_^

        • Awww isn't that sweet. hahaha

        • :3

    • These ear phones are not pro quality and so don't expect too much from them. Logitech is not into making quality ear or headphone. I have a few pairs of main brand headphones in the order of a few hundreds of dollars and they are expensive for a reason.

      • +3

Logitech might not be a great hearphone manufacture themselves, but they bought out Ultimate Ears, AFAIK those guys are still the ones handling the design process albeit influenced by Logitech, I doubt Logitech would degrade the quality that much since that's what they'd be looking for when they bought out UE.

    • I bought a set and think they're pretty good. They get pretty positive reviews as well - they are essentially last year's SuperFi 5 model with a different name.

Try burning them in by running them at a relatively high volume (but without distortion) for about 12 hours straight. I noticed a significant difference.

I'll get to adding the direct links to the individual products once I get some time.

Also, from their Facebook page about their Pay-Pal promo https://www.paypal-offers.com.au/mobile/ :

Free shipping on mobile site, plus spend over $30 and receive a free mouse*(M305)
Purchases must be made via the Logitech Shop mobile site. Both offers limited to one per PayPal account. Use promo code 'mobilelogitech' at checkout to redeem this offer.

    Valid: 16th Mar '11 - 14th Apr '11

    • It seems if you add the 'mobilelogitech' promo code into the desktop website, it still adds the M305 into cart at no extra cost. Dunno if you'll still get it though given they said mobile website only..

      • It will let you go through with the order but about 2hrs later you get a refund.

You the have to set up another account for the mobile site only to find out what I ordered is not available.

Prices are ok but for the time waisted and inconvenience I think I will be elsewhere

      • Hi, I ordered on the desktop website using the coupon. It accepted the order with the coupon and showed the M305 at 0 cost. Later I received the refund from LogitechShop saying the order wasn't placed on the mobile website…

        • Hi
Of course the system will auto detect that you tried to use the mobile coupon on a desktop . its very clear the coupon is valid for orders from a mobile device of the mobile site . Anything else the coupon will not be valid . and the system will detect and refund .
