    28 Days for $2.36

Is there any way to pay in cash so it gets rounded down to $2.35?

    • +3

If you pay by cash then you don’t get cashback from cashrewards. I’d rather an extra 12% discount vs $0.01 saving.

      • May be @tightarse can consider to have cashreward available for shopping in the "real" shops. Just like how the chain stores scans the membership cards (E.g. fly buys), the shops scan the buyers cashreward's app

        • May be @tightarse can consider to have cashreward available for shopping in the "real" shops.

That would be great, you could go up to the counter and bend over for a cash reward.

          • @Scab: In 2018 I believe the shops scanner (phone/TAB) is mobile. Otherwise the shops may need a "please hold your fart during scan" sign on the counter

They actually do. Here, check this out :)

          • +1

            @MathNerd: Never knew about this.

Do they do a Mastercard one?

            • @Scab: Really? I thought you would have been all over everything these days ;)

No, at the moment it's only Visa. Though I don't use Visa/MasterCard (much) these days, I'm a heavy AmEx user. Therefore I can't provide any first-hand experiences, however I know I'd use it a lot of I was a Visa user.

  • +1

    It's back!!

  • +2

How heavy are they are policing the new customer thing?

    • I believe you can port out and in for new customer..

  • So just so I understand, this is essentially a 4 month plan right?

    • Yes!

    • Yes, four non-leap year February in a row.

      • +2

or easier to say 16 weeks

  • what network do they use?

    • +1

      Optus.

      • +1

        thanks for the quick reply!

  • +1

Not just a 4 months plan. It will auto renew after 4 months to a $20 a month plan unless you cancel before then.

    • +4

You just disable the auto-renewal feature.

  • My Kogan plan is ending end of feb. so close and thinking of getting this.

  • Any idea when this deal will expire?

    • +1

Just found out, the discount code (which gives 5 % off) expires at midnight tonight and then the Groupon $9.95 deal will expire when they have sold out. So you could take a gamble and hope that Groupon has a bigger % off code before the deal ends.

      • +1

Just before they lose the deal, they give 25-30% (as of my previous experience with Groupon - Amaysim deals)… Wait and see.

  • No international calls?

  • yas, current catch mobile plan ends in 7 days

  • +4

This is how Amaysim keeps holding me back (in life). I just don't want to pay $10 a month for anything, and it was nice not to have anything debited for 6 months. I'm thinking of finally jumping on Belong when my Amaysim SIM expires this time around. Maybe just refer myself to free online SIMs to avoid paying a monthly fee. But I do appreciate international roaming.

  • Still need to activate my OVO and Belong SIM otherwise be bouncing on this.

    • Same boat

  • still got many $1 1G Sim card…

  • anyone knows is this online delivery or via post office?

    • +1

Post office if it's the same as the previous one as they send a sim out.

      • It’s just a Reedem code, will they send by email or post!?

  • Excess data charged at $0.072/MB or $10/1GB

i was going to buy it for my mum, but will pass since it is not capped on data.

    • +3

Pretty sure it is capped. I believe it is classed as a prepaid plan and therefore, data top ups are manual (as per the CIS).

Has anyone tried porting out of amaysim and then porting back in? Is there a minimum number of days one needs to remain out of amaysim to be considered a new customer again?

    • Thanks for the deal TA!

This is what I need to do too, it's probably been asked alot but what's currently the cheapest and fastest way?

      • Does it work using same email?

        • Yes

      • +2

        Is free cheap enough? :)

If you don't want to wait for the amaysim sim to arrive, you can purchase a $2 sim at the supermarket. Then use live chat to activate and port your number on that sim rather than the one arriving in the post.

        • Thanks so much for this!

        • Do you know what you select when you are porting so it's active but you don't have to recharge?

          • @imissbeans: Somebody said in another comment no credit required if you select the Day2Day plan.

            • +1

@tranter: Hi thanks so much, I was looking for that comment again but must have missed it and forgot what it was. Thanks so much again

    • +1

You can port out and back in straight away.

    • I wouldn't. I've had nothing but trouble

  • +1

Good deal. But Ive had issues porting out and back in. Plus they kept applying the code wrong.

  • It says above redeem by 14th Jan and then activate sim before 24th Jan. So if I am transferring to Amaysim would I need to redeem the Groupon voucher code on the Amaysim website by 14th Jan. Then wait for the sim card to arrive. After sim card arrives then I initiate the transfer to Amaysim before 24th Jan. Is this how it works?

    • +1

      Yes
Redeem = get it shipped and doesn't activate the sim
I have redeemed the voucher code straight away but I will activate it in mid-Jan
just a bit worry about missing letter during Christmas parcel peak

  • Does anyone know if I'm able to currently port my existing amaysim number to this one? My prepaid plan expired a couple days ago..

    • No, it is for new Amaysim customers only. You would need to port out and back again and can be done without too much effort.

  • excellent

  • +2

Tip: use a different email or put a '.' or '+' for GMail and use the promo BRANDNEW to get additional $1.49 off instead of just $0.15.

    • Might not get the cashrewards cashback with that code. It is not listed as an active code on their website.

  • Hi, I am doing the portin/port out for the first time to make use of this deal.A little confused.

I currently have the amaysim number with 6x28 days renewal expiring on 7th Jan .

I have bought the voucher via Groupon and redeemed on amaysim website with a new email and selected a new number, now waiting for the amaysim sim to arrive.

Also I have orederd a free Telstra sim for porting out from current amaysim and then porting back in.

I wish to retain my existing number while activating/porting back to amaysim.

Did I make a mistake by selecting a new number while redeeming the amaysim voucher or will be it be fine to retain the current number at time of activation?

    • +2

unfortunately your amaysim will probably arrive pre-activated with a new number.

    • Yes looks like you have done the wrong thing. After you bought the Groupon voucher you need to wait until 7th/8th Jan when your current Amaysim deal expires. Then sign up to Telstra and port out to them (with the free sim that you have ordered). After that you sign up again as a new customer to Amaysim with the Groupon voucher and request your number to be ported to Amaysim. Then when the Amaysim sim arrives you activate it and your number will be back with Amaysim again.

      • Is there an option to skip topup when activating via telstra site or must one live chat to get it ported in without topup

        • +2

If you sign up to the Day2Day plan when activating the Telstra sim then it will cost you nothing.

          • @Rodo: I did this a few days ago and the only free option I noticed was in fact under "Pre-Paid Max". Day2Day having a free option would make (more) sense.

  • Having difficulty activating the voucher code.

But this time, the cashreward tracked the sale.

  • this is in the fine print for this deal?
Excess data charged at $0.072/MB or $10/1GB
