    Damn thought it'd be 79 :/

    • I think they were just guessing… trying to get a post up before it actually comes up.

Most people were hoping it was a repeat of the last Lightning Deal, which had it for $79.

        • Yeah missed out on that one… wasn't going to miss out on this one.

    No 79 no deal!

Interesting its the same price as the 3DS. Seems to be much more popular as well 86% claimed

    • 95% …

I'm guessing its the same price as the new 3DS XL because of it being a special edition pokemon one.

I'd still just go with the new 3ds xl personally however, the build on the new 2ds is rather poor.

  • 86% claimed now.

Got one for collections sake. Seems like it’s selling quite fast..

  • Goneskis 100% claimed.

All gone. Got one. $20 more expensive than last deal though which is unfortunate but I'm not too upset, it looks lovely and is a nice upgrade to my old 3DSXL seeing as I never use the 3D anyway.

    • You are upgrading the processing power.

      • Yeah but some games like Xenoblade Chronicles won't run at all on an older 3DS and others like Yoshi's Woolly World will run smoother, not to mention the C-Stick which is useful in some games like Majora's Mask for the camera.

Plus it has built in NFC functionality which was a pain in the ass for some games having to use the amiibo NFC reader with my old 3DS.

On top of that, now I can give my wife my old one and play some games together, and it looks nice so there's that.

Yoshi's Woolly World looks delightful - how does it compare to say Mario games?

          • +2

@hsf: I have it on the Wii U and it's fantastic. If you enjoy Mario games then it's totally worth looking into, has a lot of that traditional Mario charm but is super light hearted. Got some good challenge to it as well if you're looking for that.

The 3DS version has some additional levels and such too apparently, runs at 60fps on New 3DS's. Totally recommended.

  • Gone in 3 mins. That's quick.

  • Blah I've been missing out on these 2ds xl deals from amazon

Blue New 3DS XLs are now up for $99: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00PW1HK7I

  • How long does Amazon take - or how long can it be - to learn if a wait listed item is successful or not? Ballpark :)

  • I got one on waitlist, I was deciding whether to get this or not, thought I’d let someone more needy get it then it was 100% sold out, soo I decided to click the waitlist button 5 minutes ago and it pop up in my cart soo I decided to buy, anyone have any luck with the waitlist I was really surprised as I just sign up for the waitlist a few minutes ago I thought there’d be more people ahead of me in the Line.

I got one on the waitlist - thanks for sharing :)

  • How do you get notified - and how long do you have to make the purchase (from waitlist)?

I went on list a few minutes after 100% claimed and no dice yet! Heh.

    • I went on the waitlist for about 10 minutes before I was offered one to purchase. It varies. You get 2:30 minutes to add to cart. Don't move from that page.

      • Wow - you mean two and half minutes? Or 2 and a half hours? That's not long. I went outside for a few minutes to bin some shrubs and I think I missed it! Oops!

        • Yep only, 2 and a half minutes, only 150 seconds. If you went outside you may have been offered one and missed it.

          • @Stone Monkey: Yep - I think that is what happened. I'll consider that an Amazon learning opportunity! Haven't needed to waitlist before. Bought the youngster a 3DS XL in blue (same as mine) instead but don't think he'll be as excited even though it's the full featured model. Thanks for the details.

            • @fookos: How can you not be excited for a Nintendo console!?

              • @cyrax83: Ha! Very true - I think he was pretty chuffed at the idea of the Pokeball model as he's a bit of a Pokemon fan but I'm sure he'll love the metallic blue 3DS - I couldn't pass on that one at $99. Maybe Amazon will have another special on the Pokeball sometime in the near future!

                • @fookos: Hah when I first got my first 3DS I was amazed at the 3D as an adult. For a kid it should be mind blowing lol.

But I can understand the pokeball 2DS XL being just as exciting. It's an excellent looking version.

                  • @cyrax83: Agreed - the 3D is like a magic trick on those things - truly excellent feature. I'm always suprised more people don't enjoy their games with it turned on at whatever level they are comfortable with. Many seem to turn it off (when you read forum comments)… Is definitely not a gimmick, and the face tracking is very robust.
