Hi all, This is likely your last chance to get Office 2019 via the Home Use Program for around $21.

All countries have moved to offering Office 365 at 30% off (per year subscription) instead of Office as a download. The US haven't started the 365 offer yet and if you use the old link to HUP you can still order Office 2019 for $14.99 USD (Windows or Mac) and Project/Visio offers as well. The new link says HUP is coming back to the US soon (and was due to launch at the start of the year) so this work around is not going to last long.

To get Office for $21 you need to have access to a company email address that participants in HUP. Most big companies do so just try your work email and see if you get an email back allowing you to order.

To order go to https://www.microsofthup.com/hupus/home.aspx?culture=en-US

You may need to copy/paste into the link in an InPrivate tab so the page opens without it going to the office 365 page (if you get the office 365 offer try another browser as it does work). Note: For me if I click the link I get the office 365 offer but if I paste it in the browser I get the Office 2019 offer.

Don’t change the country otherwise it will go back to office 365 just use company email address then copy link from email you receive and put in an InPrivate tab (again clicking the link may take you to the office 365 offer so copy and paste).

You can put you real address with state as California and zip 90210 😊(or whatever address you like), you can get a phone number from https://fakenumber.org/

Place your order and get your key and link instantly.

Enjoy and act fast as I doubt this will last much longer and is likely the last version of Office you will get without needing a subscription to office 356.

Anyone willing to let me use their work email 😆

What happens if you work for google/gmail and your email is [email protected]

    Thats discrimination!:)

    • +4

      Wouldn't they use @google.com instead of @gmail.com?

      • +1

        And Google Docs

        • +1

Yes we're all on google.com addresses and generally can choose any available (unoffensive) username. But doubt we would be eligible for HUP as we have our own office suite.

    • +3

I think Google generally employs people with an IQ above 80 that don't suffer from extreme cases of body dysmorphic disorder to be fair so I'm not sure it's much of an issue.

  • I attempted to access this link in Chrome/IE and from my phones browser in Inprivate mode, no matter what I do it navigates to the 365 offer?

EDIT: Opened the link directly from the bargain and it worked WTH

FYI many companies have more than one email format (3 of my last 4 had around 5 ways I could type my email address, current one only has 1). To see a list of your email addresses right click your name in outlook (in an email etc) and click "Open Outlook Properties" then click the "E-mail Addresses" tab. Send a test email to your self at one of the addresses in the list to test it and if working you can then use to to order another licence or to share with someone.

    • Yeah I have about 6 or 7 I use the master account though for my personal one it's the one the company doesn't deactivate if you leave as it remains a key field in keeping all your data together.

The master address which is likely to be employee ID remains in the system so they don't have to regenerate it all if you come back.

We actually have a US email address and office so I used that if you scroll to the bottom of the page it still has the office 2019 on the 365 HUP on the US site or it did for me.

Thanks OP just had my machine replaced MS actually told me to buy the new version as the new version doesn't count against the 2016 suite it's a new purchase to them so you can use same email you used for 2016 purchase, but I had to wait for device so this was handy.

      • Also forward a copy of the email to your home account if you leave the company MS will only resend the link and product key to your work email.

So you need to either keep the install file and key safe or the email with links enabled to home.

    • many companies have more than one email format

You're referring to what's known as email aliases.

Each mailbox on a typical mail server will have a primary SMTP address (e.g. [email protected]) and then depending on the user, one or more aliases (e.g. [email protected], [email protected], etc).

All the aliases do is simply forward or redirect mail addressed to any of those aliases to the primary address.

Send a test email to your self at one of the addresses in the list to test it and if working you can then use to to order another licence or to share with someone.

It doesn't work like that and of course you'll receive any email you send to any of your aliases.

It's still the same mailbox, it doesn't matter which alias you use as they don't count as separate mailboxes, so you can't sign up for multiple accounts with each one as if they were completely separate mailboxes.

Also, how is someone else who doesn't have access to your mailbox going to be able to see the account confirmation and authentication emails from Microsoft that they need to progress through the Microsoft account creation process which you need to activate Office 2019?

Thank you so much been wondering how to get this offer as my work link keep on directing to 365 office

  • +2

I tried my company email and not it is asking me for my Organisation's Program Code. :(

    • Yeah same, not sure where to find this lol

    • Same problem. Program code. Anyone . Please share

    • +1

All is not lost you have to ask IT dept for the code it's a pain they don't give you more details but essentially someone in your company who looks after your enterprise software will be able to obtain a code for you.

It's vague but that was as much as I could get out of them for something else.

  • Ask for a program code for this order

    • To validate you are an eligible employee, some companies require that you enter a program code in addition a company email domain.

Each organization assigns a Benefits Administrator (BA), internal to their organization, to be responsible for managing the Home Use Program. Your BA can provide the assigned program code for your organization.

Microsoft Customer Service cannot provide you with the name of your Benefit Administrator or your organization's program code.

  • +3

Thanks for the heads up. Pretty crappy deal on 365 in comparison.

  • +5

Luckily I have school kids, so I get Office for free through their school email! Hehe..

    • Can you share more details please?

    • Only downside is if you need Access or Publisher these aren't included in the Education version, but free is free.

      • Not sure if it was changed lately, but I have Access and Publisher on my computer. Pretty sure they were installed same time when I downloaded the Office install files and this would have been about 2 years ago.

    • But you got Office 365, right?

      • Yep. not sure what the difference is. I can open files offline just like previous versions of Office.

        • the difference is they make money off you every month

          • @furythree: I guess if you have a normal subscription you pay every month, but because my son is a student, I pay an affordable monthly subscription fee of 0.

            • @geek001: until hes not a student anymore, then you just never use office again?

              • @furythree: I am not sure how I did it, but Office is installed on my computer under my own Microsoft account using the installation files I downloaded.

    • How many computers can you install it on for each email address?

  • what to get - Office Professional Plus 2019 or Office Home and Business 2019?

    • Pro Plus, includes Access and Publisher, unless you want it for Mac then have to get Home and Business.

      • +1

Onenote is not included in pro plus?

        • +4

Onenote isn't included any more as its free/bundled with Win10, but I believe it unlocks extra features (I may be wrong, but I think if you don't want to use the Win 10 Onenote app, you need to install Onenote 2016)

        • I have onenote with my office proplus 2019 install, and it’s not the free one that comes with windows 10

  • so is that $21 per month or year or own it outright no subscription?

    • +8

      Outright

      • sweet as

    • +2

      no subscription

  • +4

If you are having trouble getting to the US page, try changing the language (click link at bottom) to United States - English and then visit the link again.

    • Thanks, was wondering why it worked on my mobile browser but not desktop. Kept redirecting to AU store.

  • Total Price including Tax is coming up to US$16.49 (AU$23.38).

PS: Never mind, changed to California as State and there is no tax included then.

  • Will this outright version enable me to use office on android?

    • I don't believe so, no.

  • +1

    Thanks got Office Professional.

  • +2

May also be able to get Pro Plus 2019 for free via some schools.

  • If you want the -1tb one drive anyway, is 365 better value?

    • -3

      LibreOffice is better value.

      • +8

Libreoffice has 1tb cloud storage that syncs with windows and has a good iOS integration?

      • Libre Office doesn't have an Outlook competitor. Also requires Java.

      !!! Careful, send KMS Activator!!!

The activation key was faulty and the seller was unhelpful when I contacted them

This is office 365 not advertised correctly. Opened an cancel request

This is Office365 not Office2019. Subscription based not standalone

      Refunded

I misunderstood item, seller refunded my money immediately, great seller.

There's no key, only fraud ms account

This was NOT A KEY!!! but it did work.

      • +1

He pretty much selling a free program.

    • +2

"85 sold" but only 22 feedback? This is going to end badly.

    • +7

These are keys illegally split out from Bizspark/Dreamspark/MSDN or Partner accounts, and are explicitly not resellable (as they are sold for specific purposes only at deep discounts). They are not legitimate to use and Microsoft can cancel the license and disable the software.

      • +1

I think they’re from enrolling and cancelling college courses and using the edu address to create a 365 login.

You can buy the same addresses on eBay.

    • Why not pirate it instead?

Microsoft doesn't want you pirating it but I'm sure they'd rather that than paying a commercial piracy operation.

  • It asks for an organisation program code… What do I put?

    • It usually means your organisation has placed some kind of limitations on who can use the HUP program (usually because not everyone who has an email address has an Office 365 license). Used to be you could just trigger an email to confirm, they might have killed that off though.

  • would moving back from 365 be an issue/problem?

  • If anyone has the link and wants to share, would be much appreciated. After Microsoft Project :)

  • I'm stuck behind a "program code"

  • Does anyone know we can buy multiple years and stack them?

    • +7

This deal is about Office 2019 on a perpetual licence. Are you asking about the Office 365 Home Use Program? We are not interested in that inferior offer at the moment.

  • Discounts on Office 365 Home and Personal subscriptions are offered to eligible companies worldwide except for the following markets: United States, China, Japan, Russia, Hong Kong, Macao, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, American Samoa, Antarctica, British Virgin Islands, Burkina Faso, Caicos Islands, Central African Republic, Chad, Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Congo, Congo (DRC), Cook Islands, Djibouti, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas), Gabon, Gambia, The Gibraltar, Grenada, Guam, Guernsey, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Haiti, Kiribati, Lesotho, Liberia, Mauritania, Micronesia, Montserrat, Nauru, Niger, Niue, Norfolk Island, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Pitcairn Islands, Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Samoa, São Tomé and Príncipe, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Swaziland, Tokelau, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Wallis and Futuna, Yemen. • Good to know, if the US switches to Office 365 then they may still sell the perpetual 2019 licence through the stores for those other countries.

  • what's the expiry of the licence?

    • Perpetual so no expiry.

      • Are MSDN licences perpetual once generated? I’m still using some from a few years ago.

        • +1

I am not qualified to answer that question definitively. Here are the current Program Terms that govern Microsoft Volume Licensing programs.

This is my understanding but I could be wrong. I think MSDN licences are volume licences and the keys are perpetual Multiple Activation Keys. Perpetual in the sense that no future payment is required to keep the software working (unlike a software subscription service), but the keys can be revoked. However, just because the licence/key is perpetual, it does not mean the end user holds a perpetual right to the licence/key. (Same with the licences/keys obtained under this Home Use Program.) For example, if you stop working for your employer then your right to use the software under the HUP licence ceases. I think your rights to MSDN issued licences/keys will also cease once the MSDN subscription ends, even though the software continue to work.

    • Strictly speaking HUP licenses are not perpetual, and last as long as the buyer works for the organisation through which it was purchased from.

In reality MS never checks this, so in-effect it can been seen as perpetual.

Protop: Use the state of Florida instead of California if you don't want to pay that additional 10% sales tax.

    • -1

Most people voted to pay a GST on most things they buy in Australia.

Hardly seems rational to care about one transaction after that.

  • +1

Getting $90 a year. What am i doing wrong?

  • +2

    Excellent price!!

I have Office 2016 Professional Plus and found no reason to upgrade. There are some new features but nothing to write home about.

UPDATE: OneNote is one of the Office 2016 apps I use most and isn’t included in Office 2019. I will definitely stick with 2016.

    • I haven’t noticed any difference since the ribbon was new. And even then it was only the ribbon that changed.

    • OneNote is now a standalone app for Windows 10. So you don't need an office license.

      • +2

The version included with Windows is good enough for most users but I prefer the OneNote 2016 because it has more features that I use.

    • Are you running Windows 10? If so it's pre-installed and free.

    • +1

I think the installer for 2019 gives you the option of installing onenote 2016.

    • +1

Install Office 2019 on your PC then just download & install OneNote 2016, it's free software download from Microsoft

      • -1

or g00gle keep (also for free).

  • Bought Office & Visio, awesomeness, thanks OP.

  • Anyone else getting asked for “your organization’s program Code” after putting their work email in ?

  • +2

Not a fan of the click to run installer. Everything installed whether you want it or not, and the Change option just tries to run a repair so can't even remove components after installation.

Looks like the only way to do it is use the deployment tool to exclude them from being installed in the first place.

    • Extract first

    • +7

Download the click to run Office install setup.exe then head over to https://config.office.com and configure your office download XML with the options you want, use the XML you created and exported to run the command line

      setup.exe /download config.xml

This will download Office how you want, once downloaded change command to the following to install to

      setup.exe /configure config.xml

Make sure you select the right licence model on https://config.office.com to match the key Microsoft sends you from HUP e.g Proplus so you can activate your custome install.

      • +3

Still, annoying that they keep dumbing everything down.
