HELP: "App Store" on iPad w/ iOS 9.3.5 Won't Show "Featured" "Top Charts" or "Explore" Tabs?!?

Subj asks it all… We have tried
on "iPad Mini 2" & "iPad Air" &
got same results…

Is Apple hinting that they want us
to update iOS…?

(We don't want to, as we're told,
that some old apps don't run
on newer iOS versions)

Thanks

Probably stuffed then. Either update IOS and cope with old apps abandoned by their authors - or cope with the App Store not fully supporting the old IOS.

Well some apps like the app store definitely isn't working now lol

That version of iOS is 2.5 years old - time to upgrade big guy!

    In your own words -

Truth be told, we really don't need
any of this stuff at all.. so, just
wait a year or 2, & prices will drop
…saving you heaps to spend on
Real Life(tm) OR - better - to invest
for your retirement, so you can
take Cat Food OFF your menu.. ;~)

    The Barefoot Investor [for Families]
    (It's Best & likely Free fr Audible.com
    in the Audio-Book version)

    • As we already own these iOS based devices,
it can only be good (& free) to keep 'em go'g.

Nothing in that quote suggests "Don't Fix a
      Broken "Toy". ;~)

Caution though, if you update to the latest iOS expect the iPad to run like a dog. Although I never understood this saying… dogs run quite fast.

  • That's strange, My iPad Air 2 on 9.3.3(jailbroken) still shows those tabs fine, so I doubt it's the IOS version that's the issue unless for some weird reason 9.3.5 iOS somehow treats 9.3.3 IOS more favourably even though it's an older version

Maybe try and clear the cache for the App Store app or try and reset just that app somehow

    • Thanks for that!

It needed a connected computer to upgrade it to iOS 9,
due to it having only 16GB of storage.

      • My first choice was iBooks, but it lacks the "Circled X"
delete icon, when other apps are able to be deleted.

        Didn't need to delete iBooks..

        • Delet'g just 3 manuals did the trick! :~)

        Update: —————-

Wow! Even deleting 3 old pre-9.3 iOS manuals from
my iBooks Library was able to restore 3 missing tabs!

Funny… iOS needs more than 150 MB free storage
to enable App Store to run to spec!

(Why can't iOS app's warn, eg, at start-up,
that they need "xxx MB free storage…?"
        Apple, are you listening?)

        • Congratulations, sounds like you got it sorted, hopefully you enjoy many more years of happy iPad usage

I too am wary of upgrading my iOS on my iPad. It does everything I want it to do, it's still jailbroken and I have a lot of flexibility with various tweaks and stuff, and I too have apps that don't work on newer IOS versions or have disappeared from the App Store.

  • I have some recollection that 32 bit might be officially unsupported.
