3% off Eligible Items (Min Spend $30, Max Discount $1000 Per Transaction, Max 10 Items Per Transactions) @ eBay

511
PLACE

Unfortunately there isn't any 5% or 10% off site-wide at the moment, so I guess this is better than nothing.

    Max Discount $1000 Per Transaction

I failed grade 4 maths but do you need to spend $33,333 to get $1000 discount?

    • +5

Fail again. That would be $999.99 discount.

    • +3

      $33333.34 with rounding :)

    • Yes.

  • +14

    WTH !!!
    3% discount, max discount $1000
To get $1000 discount, you’d need to purchase something worth $33,333.33

ebay are taking the piss these days.
    3% pfffffffft

    • +2

The max discount really is taking the pi$$

  • I'll buy 50 and sell them on ebay!

  • Finger cross guys, 5% and 10% are coming tomorrow.
Are we still on 1 April?

  • It's bargain which I am not allowed to downvote on.

  • +2

It’s April 1st, they ought to coincide with it and do a 1% off instead.

  • Keep in mind this is 3% of eligible items… So this can't be would to everything.

    • this can't be wood to anything…

      • Auto correct! Supposed to be "can't be applied"…

        • This is correct. I just tried to use the code on a $50 item from a large seller and was denied.

          • @Tythefly86: Just tried to buy some water drinking cones and was denied

  • Ebay Minus get 2%

  • Jeeez Ebay you need to up your game.

  • 3% is silly as it doesn’t entice me to spend on eBay.
If I was about to buy something though I’d use the code so they are essentially just giving away 3% margin.

    saved a buck, cheers

  • +3

If you use the low % codes they will keep doing them. If no one used them then they would have to reassess the situation

  • These codes (this one and the PROUD one) no longer work on auctions and used goods, it seems.

    • +2

what I gather is it works on the sellers who has a store subscription and doesn't otherwise. Regardless of the item condition.

      • I think you're right. Used goods from stores are eligible but not private sellers.

      • Thanks, that's the info I was after

    • +1

Confirmed. Did not work on an item I won for $700. So annoying EBay makes it so ambiguous and we have to figure it out through trial and error…

  • +3

Common eBay its not April fools any more….

  • Didn't even work on an auction item I won…

  • Thank you eBay. Ignore the entitled comments. Still a better deal than most shops.

    • Just a shame the initial starting prices are so high on ebay, and even with the discount items are often cheaper elsewhere.

  • Looks like eBay is running out of steam. I can see amazon demolishing eBay this year. I will have to exchange ebay plus for the amazon prime.

    • You have ebay plus, but no Amazon Prime? Shame on you.

Both have been OK for me and I have made my money back on both. ebay giving me 3 months of Stan was a bonus, and ebay plus returns are very easy as well.

Amazon Prime video is not as great as overseas, but there are lots of great original Amazon series, and enough other stuff for it to be OK considering the other benefits. They also now give you some time limited access to Amazon Music, and there is a lot of ebooks in the included Kindle access.
Now there is a Sydney Amazon warehouse I get items from there next day. Seems crazy sometimes when buying a $4 item and receiving free delivery.

      • I have the Australian Amazon prime and can't use free phone photo backup, prime music or Kindle access. How do you access it?

        • I don't know anything about any photo backup. Prime music is enabled by default so you just ask Alexa to play whatever. To access the Prime reading ebooks you just login with your credentials.

will there be a 10% for Easter ?

    • For sure if you can hold it till then

      • depends if no one buys the item I want before this code shows up! haha

        • Exactly the situation I was in, I'd been sitting on an item since Monday hoping no one grabbed it. Figured the stress wasn't worth it and just grabbed it today with the 3%.

  • Man…been spoilt by all those 10% sitewides. This one and the 10% don't work on anything I want. Just resorted to using FlyBuys points to get some coupons off eBay!

  • Still waiting for 15% for my $100000 purchase

  • This code can't be applied to some of your items.

Why? So which items are eligible?

    • Also had this issue, then I saw this in the T&C :

‘Eligible Items’ means all items listed on eBay.com.au where these terms and conditions are found and the coupon redemption code PLACE is displayed in the item listing

  • SERIOUSLY?

only certain SELECTED seller, certain SELECTED item are eligible for 3% when spending over $30!
-NEG this because of the deal restriction, not the OP (thanks OP for sharing anyway)

eBay you lost my sale!!!!! I am buying elsewhere!!!!!
