Free Plastic Keepcup When Using “Buy 5 Get 1 Free” Code at McDonald’s Kiosk

2430

First post, please don’t be too harsh.

Used my ‘free coffee’ coupon from the McDonald’s App in store at a kiosk and the option came up for the drink plus the new keep cup included.

Used at McDonald’s Midland WA, and the manager honoured the receipt, but took it before I could get a photo. Did get a photo of the instore self service kiosk.

Good luck!

I can't seem to find the keepcup option on the app, where is it exactly?

    Best Macca's hack so far

Any way to remove pickles or something to get them to pay us to take the Keepcup?

    • +14

      1 Keepcup

      • No bread
      • +4

        Nokeepbread

    • +1

      No pickles in their coffees

  • May be targeted

  • +2

How did you get the ‘free coffee’ coupon?

    • +4

      Buy 5 baby chinos

      • Does that still work?

      • No, they removed that option

  • Is it "keep cup" branded? Or a re useable cup?

    • +9

It's a legit KeepCup branded cup

      • +4

Probably comes in a red and yellow colour scheme lol

        • +1

Did you click the link? Looks like it's a glass one with black and yellow scheme, with a McCafe logo.
Not too bad other than the logo…

          • +2

@NigelTufnel: Edit: Thought it was glass but upon opening it’s clear plastic. Colour scheme as pictured. I like it more than the old blue and black design.

    • +1

I’ve got a McCafe one and while it’s a proper branded ‘KeepCup’ it’s their budget one. Black plastic with a white grip. Not as good as the glass one I’ve got of the same brand

First post, please don’t be too harsh

so its ok if we are a little harsh ? :)

So was the voucher from the loyalty reward - free coffee after 5?

And then the kiosk in store offered coffee in a keep cup and you were able to use the app voucher as payment?

    • Correct! :)

      • +96

I think it was to reward you for being the first Australian to order 6 McDonald's coffees 😂

        • -1

          😂 😂

        • I know people who order 6/week.

          • @Ulysses31: From McDonald's? Do they work at McDonalds?

            • +1

@Name: No. People 'on the road' looking for a cheap, easy to find, known menu.

        • +1

Nah… actually at the bottom it printed: Return after use
          😂😂

      • So it’s upto the cashier to honor or refuse it

  • -6

Maybe you drink too much coffee.

    • -6

      McCafe Coffee isn't coffee :D

      • +1

        Why?

        • -7

          Cuase its dirt and $5

          • @El Grande: … in your opinion.

Seems hatin' is still cool with kids, these days.

            • +1

@Ulysses31: I felt like the coffee degraded when they changed to their new blend sometime last year. Also recently I was served cold coffee recently the same temp as refrigerated milk… they gave us a new coffee later but what the heck, you’d be able to feel the temperature of the pitcher and tell it’s cold right? (All the baristas use the temp gauge but common sense?!?)

            • @Ulysses31: Only the kids who drink Macca's coffee

              • @[Deactivated]: Does that make ANY sense??

                • @Ulysses31: kids who are drinking Macca's coffee are hatin' it.

                  drink it, you'll understand

          • +1

@El Grande: well it uses GROUND coffee

    • too much coffee

      I don't understand

  • Can't find it in the app (the keep cup). Hopefully others can verify before I make the effort to drive to maccas for it!

    • +2

It's only available at the in-store kiosks, not if you try to redeem it in the app itself.

  • -8

What are they going to do if you just take the cup, chase you down for it? Look your order up and ban you from the app, will the police come knocking at your door if you gave the app your real address, asking about the stolen cup.

    • +22

Yes the KeepCops keep track of the KeepCups

    • Well if you have no dignity, go for it…

    • Quick gang to the Negmobile

  • +6

I think you accidentally took stole someones keep cup :)

  • +7

Sorry, I’ll clarify. I had a free coffee voucher sitting there from having purchased 5 coffee’s in the past. Normally when you use the self service kiosks it will let you claim anything coffee, frappe’s, ice coffee’s etc.

The kiosk had both the option to refill a keep cup (regular price) or purchase the cup and fill it. That was the option I picked, otherwise $15 is a bloody expensive coffee haha.

    • I think they made a mistake…you should be getting a free coffee instead of a free "paid for the cup and coffee" option as the 6th FREE.

      • Have a look at the screenshot, Keepcups on offer…

      • +3

I agree they made a mistake having the keepcups as one of the options as the 'free' coffee. We like capitalising on mistakes of big corporations though, right?

    • Silly question, how does the kiosk know you have purchased 5 coffees already? Can you login into your account on the kiosk?

      • +1

        Scan a barcode.

        • Ok great thanks!

        • Where you get the barcode?

          • @heal: From the mymacca's app.

  • +2

You should've recorded it at the self kiosk and made it go viral hehehe

  • +22

    New Hack:
order 6 coffees (6th one is free).
    6th coffee is keepcup option.
    Subtract KeepCup (+$15)
Receive 6 coffees and a KeepCup and $2
    Drink 6 McDonald's coffees
Sit in toilet for rest of day.

    • +7

And don't sleep for the rest of the week

      • +3

Coffee is weak, you'll be sleepy in 2 hours.

    • +2

      Team player!

  • +15

Combine with the 5 babycinos deal??

  • How easy is it to rub off the McCafe branding from the KeepCup?

    • +5

You can turn the band inside out, it should be blank on the other side.

      • +1

problem is that you'll be forever reminded that its still McCafe when its empty, so you'll need to keep it topped up with a translucent liquid.
I suggest anything liquid except McCafe coffee.

    • +1

New band $3, new plug $2, delivery $2

      • +6

        For everything else, there's Mastercard

        • +2

  • +5

Anyone (other than op) has successfully got the keepcup?

    • Yeah wanna know as well.

      • +1

Was able to order and shift supervisor reluctantly gave it to me, after trying to clarify if I wanted a refill or new keepcup. YMMV

        Receipt

        • What did you say to clarify?

Is it also glass or plastic?

      • Confirmed at Loganholme QLD. The girl was also a little confused… And asked if I'd ordered a new cup. After I said yes, she unboxed it as normal.

        • +1

Just sceptical, do they wash it before pouring coffee?

          • +1

@sancrumble: Yes, I am also interested to find out if they rinse the cup before pouring your brew for you.

            • -1

@darkdinkum: You get a new cup not a used one lol

              • +4

@Bryanalves: But any new kitchenware is recommended to wash once taken out of it's packaging before using.

          • +2

@sancrumble: You could just chuck the coffee away. You are after the free cup anyway not the coffee LOL.

  • I'm on 4 Coffees. Buy 1 Get a keep cup sounds good.

    • Just buy a Babycino.

      • +3

I thought Babycino doesn't count anymore?

        • can anyone confirm this bit works or not

  • +1

    Ketchup has always been free…

    *yes i know

    • +6

      Are you blind?
      Its catsup

  • +1

$14.95 for a keep up in general is a bargain too I think?
Is it glass or plastic though?

    • +1

As above I’ve got a McCafe one and it’s plastic. It’s the low end of the keep cup range. I’ve got the premium glass with cork as well and its much better

    • +6

      $15 for a plastic cup?!

      Wow.

      • +3

Yup. Keepcup certainly have a good marketing department!

  • Order 5 baby chinos to fill up the stamp?

    • +6

But babies don't have casual Fridays, so they wouldn't have many places to wear them?

    • babycino's don't count anymore
