  • gud prices but can't find any availability. Might have to call them and check. I am hoping this is not a bait type of deal. Normally travel agents adevrtise a much lower price and they seem to always be sold out even if they get advertised that particular day. Then they try and sell u something more expensive.

    Hmmmm

    • Couldn't find any decent fare for travel in November! Good marketing ploy to get people on their website I guess!

  • +2

same here. Says sydney to delhi from $676, but when searched, its 1500 dollars.
is it an Ad for travel.com.au?

  • +2

I just did a search also (for melb to Delhi), and can't get anything for less than $730. Connecting flights are not that good, but still a pretty cheap price.

  • You DO get the price but you have place around with the dates..

Example - I choose a return flight from Sydney to Delhi, India. Travel dates - 26th July - 18th August and I got $725 which is pretty freaking cool as compared to the normal rate of $1000+

  • I did a search on the Malaysia Airlines website for Sydney - Hong Kong and got economy fares of $6,425 for one adult!

  • I got the email from travel.com.au - the sales from Malaysia Airlines 2 weeks ago had heaps of tickets so I think it's also good deal this time.

I think the tickets are very limited this time - I only checked tickets to South Korea and Japan.

I just booked return ticket to Japan in August for $755.65 at zuji.com.au

It's easier to check at zuji.com.au

    Sorry guys :-(

DO NOT BUY FROM ZUJI! - I made some bookings on the last Malaysia Airlines promo on Monday 30th May, and today I received a called from them saying that they had a technical glitch with their booking system thus meaning that my tickets never got generated. There is no way they could honour it despite the money being charged and receiving the confirmation emails and they've offered to refund my money and offer a $100 voucher. I am absolutely pissed off right now because if they could not issue the ticket I would have gone with another provider!! It's going to cost my family an extra ~$800 with another airline.

Morale of the story is if you want to get these promo tickets your better off buying them over the phone via Flight Centre or traditional travel agency so you can be sure they can secure the tickets there and then! I may have been one of the unlucky ones but I do not receive - buyer beware!

HOLY S$#@, I've just tried to book me, wife & son to HK, and it said $17866 for economy !!!

  • Seems like everytime you try to check out flight details and prices it comes up with very high end prices and never malaysian airlines, seems like those 681 fares to hongkong dont appear

  • i know this might not help anyone but i got a bangkok to delhi return for $280 recently with air asia and its flying at xmas (peak season)

these guys have the same deal sydney to delhi for $659 return inc taxes. Phone enquries only though. I got tickets from them before and they r gud but ….

  • +1

Malaysia Airlines website booking impossible. Always showing highest price at least for departures from MEL.
Try using ZUJI.COM.AU and find yourself a fare.

  • whats the shopping like in Hong Kong?

    • +7

From my personal experience, shopping in Hong Kong is freaking awesome

    • +1

Good exchange rates at the moment AU$1= HK$7.9, but just depend on what you are after.

    • +3

      realy awesome
      electronics is around 20-30% cheaper
clothes even more (lines like zara its 20% cheaper before sales)
when they have sales, its a real sale (like 30-50% store wide with not ******)
sporting shoes are like 100 bucks

food is cheap (maccas is 3 bucks lol)

      • +13

You go to HK and all you can think about eating is Maccas? ;)

        • haha!

        • haha!

        • Doesn't matter where you travel, no matter how bad the food is. If you're craving for food back home, there's always McDonalds.

        • +1

I always try out McDonalds in every country to taste the difference.

        • A strong motivation for being to Hong Kong 3 times were the chicken wings at Maccas over there that they now have in Aus actually!!!

    • Not as great as USA, but a fantastic destination none the less

    • Agreed with everyone else. Shopping is awesome, but their service is absolutely terrible.
Speak English for slightly better service (as opposed to speaking any form of Chinese). They'll treat you better.

      • +1

lol, for me talking in English gives me bad service because i'm naturally Cantonese. They think im a rich spoilt Aus-Born Chinese when in fact i really try to learn canto.

    • unbelievably awesome… my example NEX-3 twin lens was the same as one lens in AUS.
      or just buy apple.

  • They charge a $14.95 booking fee.

    • book via the airline's website and avoid all these scams imposed by online travel agents.

      • if u can find the $666 fare let me know…will go ahead

  • +3

Are you sure you're not missing a zero on the price? I tried SYD-HK return ECONOMY:

Adult: 1 AUD 5903.00 AUD 458.22 (Details) AUD 6361.22 Total

    • Just tried random dates

Lowest available fare: AUD 758.15 per adult
      incl. taxes.

  • I got an email about this earlier from travel.com.au and tried to book from BRIS to HK.
Could only get flights for A$5000+ per adult (what the), and I need bookings for 4 adults.
The booking site sucks because it doesn't tell you the price when you pick the flights so you have to go to the next page and wait for it to load before you get the price, then you have to redo the whole exercise to check another day.
I'll try zuji.com.au and see if that has any of the specials.

    • Yep, same here, absolutely wasting my time, telling my wife on the phone about $777 deal in 1 minute, then after clicking painfully in their stupid website with over $17000 in ticket price in the next minute, she slammed and hung on me, hahaha!!!

  • Found NONE! Being cheated again!

  • I bought from them a couple of weeks ago.. Adelaide to Malaysia for $590! awesome

  • +1

yeah i know the MAS website is just terrible!!! Such a dumb website why cant they just make it like the SIA website that is so much more efficient

  • +1

fiddled with all the dates and destinations, could not find the price as advertised…
    just a trap to me…

  • google bestway or netfare travel, and find their phone no. Call them to book your ticket. I got $ 10 cheaper last time than the adv price on travel.com.au.

  • typical Malaysia Airlines Sale, you will get difficulties to find the cheap sale fare if you compare than Singapore Airlines Sale,
MAS - SYD to KL only have 2 flights a day, SIA - SYD to SIN have 4 days flight a day(2 of them A380 flights).

    • I heard from the inside singapore airlines is going to have a sale soon :)

      • i really wish that sale come soon

  • i just want to see a comparison of how the price is calculated…between this 'sale' where tickets to HKG are at least $2000 while Qantas etc. can do it approx $1000

  • I booked for my partner to Mumbai on Sep 11 to Nov 11 for $727.50

  • all fake…price is not same

  • not fake, i can get the $727 deal for mumbai no probs.

    Thanks OP!

    • -1

but why are there problems for HK?!?!?!!? no offence intended but HONG KONG would be way better than Mumbai esp. in Summer!

  • Thanks for deal. I booked from MEL ~ Hyd for 758.20 in September 2011.

  • So many sales from MAS lately.
They want to grab as many customers as possible before Airasia fly Sydney? Hopefully :)

  • -2

What a fake website, shows fly from perth to india $726 and when you search the price shoots upto 2000$ for malaysian….Seriously find another place to advertise…

    • How can the website be fake? Don't you mean it's a bad deal/advertised incorrectly?

  • I did buy my Sydney to Chennai tkt for around $770 from the website travelling end of July. Later I realised that with Malaysian Airways I could have got it for $10 less. Anyway I tried to check my booking reference on Malaysian Air website - but failed. So I contacted travel.com.au on the 1300 number and I was told that I should contact the Airline. I did call the airline and received my booking reference - so its cool so far - phew my booking exists! Be warned that the fares are advanced purchase excursions - minimum stay 5 days and max of 35 days. There could be other restrictions for change of mind etc. I was told that the checked baggage is 30Kg.

As for Phone support the travel.com.au atleast picked up my call after 10 minutes - but I had a very extended wait on the Air line call.

So DOUBLE CHECK your fare by going to Malaysia Air website - but I am still giving this offer a tick as it crystallised my plans.

  • yeah MH site isn't the best.

  • Is $1050 Perth HK return considered a good price? With Qantas, non-stop.
