20% off 59 Selected Sellers Including Peters of Kensington (Max $300 Discount) @ eBay

780
PLOUGH
Edit - I reported to ebay the issue with 20% not applying to Peter of Kensington. It now appears that the 20% is able to be applied to 441 items from POK even though they aren't listed as a seller in the T&Cs.

Search link - thanks O O.

  • code doesn't work unfortunately

    • +1

Think it's an error. The code doesn't work on Peters Of Kensington items, and neither is it in the list of participating sellers. However the promotion pages seem to indicate that Peters is part of the sale, when it might not be.

The other sellers in the list appear to be participating as intended (tested on Nerf.outlet)

I'll change URL to the front page of eBay in the meantime, perhaps ebay will unhide the T&C's later as they are currently 404 not found at the moment.

      • yeah not for POK items. works for the other stores.

Confirmed with ebay chat that it is an error.

Any bargains? or just rampant price jacking?

Bargains have prices. Most decent items have prices above full RRP before the “20% off”.

Time to stop this misleading and deceptive conduct being promoted here.

Don't mind the neg. It's just interesting that people who didn't vote for your similar comment now are upvoting your comment here.

      Edit - I didn't neg your comment.

Glad u don’t mind the neg. It’s certainly not personal. I love your contributions to the site.

The problem with these ‘20% off’ off deals is that it normalises price jacking, where it is essentially accepted and tolerated on a site aimed at savvy consumers. This practice is against Australian Consumer Law, as noted by the ACCC.

So it shouldn’t be promoted ANYWHERE let alone here.

I completely understand that these ebay deals have you frustrated (and to be honest I take them with a grain of salt as well). Though I do believe that this is a bit of a generalised comment as not everything included in the deal will be price jacked.

Chav's comment below perfectly summarises these deals for me.

Edit - neg wasn't me either

All deals need to be looked at in the context of whats being offered elsewhere. Yes I understand you maybe a bit pieved you dont get a discount on a cheap deal. You go into stores and see signs saying 50% off all stock (except those already) reduced. In essence this is what is happening here. They arent giving you double discounts.

And yes I did neg your comment. Its pointless.

You might feel good with your crusade, but thats all it is.

Thing is you can vote it down just like we can vote it up. 😀

I'd rather know of a 'deal' and make an informed choice to use it, than to not know of it at all (via non posting here).

Bit of a catch 22 these days regarding eBay, we all know the situation regarding mark up and discount down. However I always check Ozb before I buy anything on eBay in case a code is relevant.
So I appreciate the posts, and the effort from the community it saves me checking all my emails every time - but I wouldn't upvote as a deal.

    • +3

Yeah 100% the same - there are so many of these % off deals from ebay recently that I also would not expect every "deal" to be found, so I appreciate these general posts.

Typically - when I need something - I will find what I am looking for then check ozb for a % off deal that will work.

      • Look, I agree too. At the very least, maybe a disclaimer at the top of them saying that prices are often inflated, so discounts are not the expected 20% off?

        • +3

Yeah maybe - I often rely on the "related" deals that trickle through in the next few hours which collates the true "deals" relevant for the sale.

      • Yep. I agree.
I always go to the ebay store page to check for coupon codes before I purchase something.
I think that's all you really need, like the Pizza codes page, they don't really have to be individual deals.
The main benefit of a deal page for eBay is if there's a search link for easy checking when it's not a sitewide code.

    • I also appreciate the posts but only upvote the code once a specific bargain is found. Love the related tab!

  • Can one of the clever people please make a search link?

  • After decades, eBay can't make searches on sales easy on its site…

  • The name of this code made a weird image come up. Must be intentional.

  • 20% is able to be applied to 441 items from POK(ebay.com.au)

Peters also sell items through ebay that aren't listed on their store, and the discount applies to them as well.

I was after a SimpleHuman 10l "butterfly" trash can, got it for $90.20 delivered ($11 delivery to QLD):
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Simplehuman-Butterfly-Lid-St…

If you are logged in, once the page loads it shows "Pay only $79.20 [show me how]".

    • $79,20 + $11 delivery = $90.20

If you are logged in, once the page loads it shows "Pay only $79.20 [show me how]".

Select click and collect at checkout, and comes to Peter's store to pick it up. 😁
