  • This annoys me …

    a) It's not a bargain (it's normal hosting price as far as I can tell)
    b) How many people that visit this page are really after this sort of service?
    c) Shameless promotion of products by companies that are not "on special" or "reduced especially for the ozbargain community" annoy the crap out of me.

Nice targeted marketing approach! (who doesn't love spam)

*** If only I could vote negative (damn 30 day rule forcing me to be nice) ***

  • Hey hellrazorone, these are new plans which were released last night - hence specials compared to our old plans :) We have no plans to submit it any further unless there are additional specials on top of this!

These are a bargain, and hence why they have been placed on ozBARGAIN.com.au!

    Regards,
    Aaron Weller

  • I agree with hellrazorone, no matter whether this is a new offer or not, this is an everyday price, it's not a special offer for Ozbargain users, nor does it appear to be a limited time offer.
Previous Crucial Paradigm offers have been special limited time offers.
I think vendors are encouraged here, but the offers do need to be special, not just everyday advertising.

    • Ok, lets do this then - we will provide a 10% off our management fee on all new orders for the next week. For details please email us at [email protected] or call 1300 884 839!

BTW, the deal was ALREADY a bargain. Bargain does not imply a once only good price, however just a good price! Check out the prices in the industry, you will see these are a great off for Australian based Xen VPS accounts :)

      • Yeah, now that's an Ozbargain bargain!!

As for "BTW, the deal was ALREADY a bargain. Bargain does not imply a once only good price, however just a good price!"

This site just did it's job.. secured a real bargain for the community that uses the site. If we accepted everyone's word that their price was already a bargain, the site would be useless.. It'd just be a place to get free advertising.

  • shameless self promotion

  • Self-promotion — yes. But what else can you call it for merchants posting their own items on this site?

Revolutionary — I think at least in Australia, yes. $29/month for a self-managed Xen VPS on HyperVM is pretty cheap (although 10GB/month data transfer won't last me very long). I guess the OzBargain-crowd is not really in the market of Australian-base virtual private servers.
