  • Coles sell netbooks? Can't go wrong for that price.

    • I didn't know this either. Stunning price.

You beat me two it, i just got a couple only moments ago but couldnt post via my iphone.
Aparrently when i got mine they were up to their 3rd pallet?

it was funny watching people looking at the netbooks, asking each other "are these any good??"

    • At the same Coles, or another one?? If this is VIC, or AU wide, this is great!

      • same one Eden Rise in Berwick.
Actually they had some great bargains $89 for a 18.5" SD lcd tv

  • wow cheap!!!

  • WA know nothing of this deal….
    Please someone prove me wrong.

  • They were selling for $199. The main issue is the LCD screen quality. It's one of the worst I've seen. $149 is good price though.

    • $149 but after taxman bonus….. even cheaper!!!!

  • Darn, only 3 cell battery in this one but at $149, it's not bad at all.

I've had one of these for 8 months or so paid about $189 after cashback can't fault it for the price.

  • Watch out when using this netbook, Acer has gotten better with their overheating issues lately, but this is one of the older netbooks that overheat like crazy (put it on a solid table, never put it on your bed)

They are almost all like that - no vents in the sides, so the bottom must be clear.

Here is the old eM250 @ Coles post from a year and half ago. Interestingly the last comment said:

I really doubt they will reduce the units to half price!!

Well. A year and half later they finally did!

    • +1

I'm just amazed how they still have stock a year and a half later!

Great value at Coles this week. $150 gets you a computer and 5 Chupa Chups.

  • Great deal, wonder if AU wide? I got the $199 less cashback em350 from OW earlier in the year and v happy with it.

    • Is there any cashback on this model?

      • Nah, was having a look on the emachines redemption site, nothing for this model. given its age it's not even listed in the current models, the em350 is still there though but only just.

    • Just checked mine and it's the em350 model not this one

  • can you upload a receipt for possible price match elsewhere? cheers!

  • Does anyone no if NSW has these???

  • +1

Can't find any in the ACT :-(

    • thanks for saving me the time and trip to go looking around :D.

this is an awesome price for a very good netbook.

you're not going to play serious games on it or hack the interweb on it.

it will do the job for most people.

i have had mine for 6 months and it is great. I would highly recommend this netbook.

I plug it in to my tv as a media center.

    it is also hackintoshable

    • +2

      hack the interweb on it

Clearly you're not trying hard enough then… You can do it on a piece of twine and a cereal box if you're pro!

      • +3

        (…assuming it's sony you're planning to hack)

        • +1

Well I was going to suggest staples, but then thought hang on, they hand out customer details for free anyway..

    • hack the interweb on it.

What the hell does this mean? You can hack the internet on a commodore 64.

I'm here now in Eden Rise. Sold out … .
Everyone around me seems to have one in their hands. Some have a couple… .

    • Thanks for that. Was going to go down after work. Are they getting any more in? Any rainchecks? Do they know of any other stores selling them?

    • +2

Any of them named Broden? :)

  • Anyone from NSW find any?

  • call up WA coles, they said not in WA…….

  • This is a great little laptop. Anyone know if it's in SA for this price?….

  • Coles @ Pagewood (NSW) has them 2 weeks ago but has ran out of stock. Green Valley's staff said she never seen them in store

Just got a heads up from an ex-Coles manager.
These were the "consolidation" of the last Australia wide promotion a year ago or so.
Looks like the "promo" was also to "prop-up" sales of the Eden Rise Coles opening their 'Apparel Section' yesterday.
That said they do have some great bargains in store over the next few days.

Looks like the "promo" was also to "prop-up" sales of the Eden Rise Coles opening their 'Apparel Section' yesterday.

netbooks are oh so sexy …

      • +1

It was funny seeing people with cloths, jocks, sox etc and a netbook ant LCD tv in th etrolly along with food and groceries.

It's Coles's response to Aldi being next door at the Eden Rise shopping centre

    • Its funny that 15 years ago or so coles removed apparel sections from most (if not all) of the stores that had them…

      • Sounds like they didn't learn their lessons from the past.

    • Yup you're right, spoke to a higher-up-in-the-coles-food-chain mate in Sydney, said not a deal in NSW. Didn't stop me from checking coles Chatswood and Parramatta though - no stock of course :)

  • Can someone upload the receipt to price match with other stores?

Also note that i was cutting back on my sugar and fat intake…….

      • Thanks!!!

Only problem now, is finding a store/shop in QLD that sells them lol…

        • Please let's know if you do find one :-}

      • Really fortunate that the Coles Team Member sold you three! The catalogue limits 1 per customer… .

        • Yes you are correct, 1 per customer, I had two other people with me that wanted one each also.
          that makes three.
I purchased theirs and they payed me back later.
Actually the "checkout chick" mentioned how many people had to leave their "stash" behind as people were informed, 1 per customer.
