Crikey, I still haven't opened some of my purchases from the last 20% off TGG ebay!

  • +7

Damn them, they jack up the price of the 86" LG to 3995 when others have it for 3320 before discount so the 20% off is basically negated.

    GG FAIL.

    • +1

Lol downvoted because I called out GG for jacking up the prices lol.

    • +2

Same price in store… did they jack up the prices in store too because of an eBay coupon?

      • +4

Who knows, but they have had this on eBay for 3400 before and suddenly it's 3995 lol. So you tell me if they jacked up the price or not.

        • +4

It's retail, prices fluctuate all the time, just because a price went up doesn't mean it has anything to do with this coupon.

        • +3

It's called the end of a sale, that's not what pricejacking is.

    • +1

Yeah they pricejacked the Samsung q75 series too :P

  • +2

    New GoPro Max $640

    • Just bought one.

  • dang, they've stopped selling the Hisense 65PX OLED on ebay :(

  • +3

Get onto the Q80R 65" before they price jack it (like last time they had 20% off)

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Samsung-QA65Q80RAWXXY-65-Q80…

$2930 delivered is a great deal on this TV.

    • Been eyeing out this model for a long time but with the OLED65C9 selling at $3036 I think the Q80R needs to be less than $2500

      • +2

They are pretty equivalent machines. Get OLED for dark rooms. Get QLED for bright rooms. Otherwise very comparable in performance.

My preference is the QLED for my bright family room and wide viewing angles and excellent reflection handling. The blackest of blacks is not so important to me, I rarely watch in an environment where this is noticeable.

        • True, im just thinking based on build cost if OLED is being sold at 3K i think LED should be cheaper

Also no eARC is a deal breaker for me as i would love to match up the tv to a Q90 soundbar for atmos

    • That's the tv I want but every time they have 20% of sale it always says not available in any store near me.

      • It is dodgy as my local TGG has stock for immediate pickup but the Ebay sale says none available for click and collect!

        • Happens every time they have a 20% off sale
They are losing sales because of it

Tried half a dozen post codes from around Australia and
all say no stock and it is a current TV

  • Plus AU $5.26 Postage for me in Brisbane (Chromecast) = $52.46

    • Did you try free c&c on ebay - plenty available at Brisbane stores near me.

      • ah, True
        Thanks

        • What's difference to Gen 2? (besides Gen 2 having funner colour choices)

    Any good deals on fridges

    • Wow. That is an amazing price. 9.1 won't be out for something like another 9 months due to some sort of problem. Nokia do send updates to tweak the camera on the 9, it gets android 10 next month or something…. I was set to get one from JB when they had it for $799 but missed that price by a day and i got the last 8 Sirocco instead.

    • Hmmmm this or a new battery for my Gen1 Pixel

  • +1

Don't forget cashback to maximise savings.

I thought cashback was no longer available when using coupon codes?

    • Correct,

Shopback: As of 28th October 2019, Any purchases made with the use of Coupon / Voucher Codes are not eligible for Cashback

  • They put the price of the GZ1000 from $35xx to $3,995.00

    Stupid.

How are they still getting away with it

    • -1

The price jacking is most definitely illegal. OzB should compile a bunch of data to help the ACCC prosecute them.

  • Hi! Does anyone know what the cheapest price has been for the chromecast? And if they think it’ll be cheaper towards the Black Friday sale or Christmas?

    • Normal chromecast gen 3 is around $59, so 20% off price for around $47 is about as good as it gets. I picked another one up last sale they had.

  • pretty weird to have another TGG eBay 20% off sale again so quick, guess retailers are struggling

  • Got $1000 to $1500 to spend on a new telly 55-65" anybody more knowledgable see any bargin's worth looking at?

  • -1

    Price jacked heavily.
This JBL Soundar was down to $477 in their last 20% eBay deal posted here. Today it will be down to $540 (After 20% off).

    • +3

If you check the revisions you can see they changed the price on October 17th which was after that deal finished. So the price hasn't moved for 2 weeks, the price is also in line with their store price.

The Good Guys are not an 'Everyday Low Prices' retailer, so their prices fluctuate, their last price on eBay probably coincided with some promotion or catalogue they were running at the time.

Ozbargain really needs a rule about commenting about 'jacked' prices, sick of coming to comments to see deals only to see people complaining about jacked prices which are not supported by facts.

      • +1

But they do jack up the prices. Do you think they don't know about the next 20% off sale they are going to have? Lol.

        • +1

The Good Guys are a multi-billion dollar business, eBay would account for a very small amount of sales, do you really think they will jack up prices in stores and on their own website, just because of a coupon on eBay?

No doubt they time it so their prices aren't at their lowest when these coupons happen, doesn't mean they jacked the prices up just to upset you.

          • @Nebargains: Now now, don't bring common sense to an argument.

          • -5

@Nebargains: LOL whatever makes you sleep better, fact is, 20% sale comes along and how convenient for them to jack up the price 700 bucks. Its jacked up simple, stop making excuses, unless you work for them which makes sense.

  • Any good front load washing machine deals again?

Hero7 Black has been jacked up. Was $398 a few week ago, now $423 after the discount.

    • Why get the 7 when the 8 is already released, price minor drop and also available for discount? Top up $60 to get the 8!

  • YES YES YES YES!!!!!! Got the Samsung 82" Finally…. Under $3K!

    • Generally not with coupon codes

      • Thought so too, but JB just did instore. Win

  • +1

Thanks OP just got the Fitbit Versa 2 for $259.20

  • Why is it that TGG will put a $4000 tv on their ebay site - but not a $4000 stove?
I really want a good deal on a freestanding 90cm pyro stove - but they never have it on their ebay site.

    • Check out Appliances Online Ebay store

      • Yeah, they don't have what I'm after either.

  • Does anyone know if Fetch Mini at GG are unbranded or are they locked to someone like Optus or whatever?

Gopro Hero 8 that was released not too long ago also available for the discount. $481.26 delivered. Bloody good deal!

    • Yip - couldn't help myself, been on the fence about getting one, upgrade from my hero 5 black, this price sealed the deal for me!

      • yeah, I almost pulled the trigger on the 7. Then sneak peaks of the 8 came around. I knew TGG would pull a 20% on new release gopros/dysons when they release and the wait paid off!

    • Not quite as good as this but pretty good.. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/490688

    The Bad Guys.

  • Every item I try to check the code against says "This code can't be applied to your order."

Even the items other posters have linked. Anyone know why/having this issue?

    • The code does not work if you just go through the GG's normal website.

Make sure you're on the GG's eBay site as linked at the top of this listing.

In the check-out process select Click & Collect if you don't want to pay postage. You will probably need to nominate your nearest/convenient store if you haven't done so before.

  • Thank you, saved $50 on a lenovo tablet!

  • I just picked up a GoPro Max at $636.

  • Will Appliances on Line price match TGG?

  • Does TGG price match eBay price in store? or jb price match TGG ebay? I have 500 bucks JB GC to burn..

    • No I asked today in the local store.

  • Is this an ok toaster for $23?
    Kambrook KTA120WHT
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Kambrook-KTA120WHT-2-Slice-C…

  • At a good guys store now.
Couldn't do a click & collect for the GoPro through eBay even though they have 3 in-stock???

    • From past experience, GG ebay is a separate business entity to the bricks and mortar GG, which are all franchises, so don't communicate with each other very well.

I've had this discussion with a few stores when I was frustrated by my ebay GG store purchase.

  • I just saved $70 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A for the daughter.

The price wasn't jacked as it's the same price as a few days ago plus matches other online/physical stores.

  • Anyone know if you can stack with with flybuys points converted to eBay vouchers?

    • +2

You can't. But you can buy an ebay giftcard with that flybuys voucher to circumvent that problem ;)

      • and you can use the 20% code and pay with multiple ebay giftcards + paypal?

        • +2

          100%

But $1500 is the limit for one transaction. $2000 for one day. $5000 for one month.

          • +1

@CVonC: thanks for help, ended up using $450 vouchers and $200 coupon for the win
