Great mouse. I've had the predecessor, the VX Nano since 2009 and hasn't skipped a beat being used daily for over a decade. Still in use at work today, battered, bruised and missing battery cover but flawless. Recommended if you don't need the larger MX Master 3. Don't bother looking elsewhere.

Literally the worst mouse I've ever used, definitely look elsewhere.

    • Guys are they good for FPS gaming 👀

      • +2

        nope, get an mx master.

        • Not if your left handed.

For reference I use this mouse for fps and it's fine. That said I'm no comp player, they'd use wired.

          • @opticmoose: you'd think that, i've done many comp's with an mx, and back in the day I used to use cheap nasty mice in competition.

During the cod4 pro's launch event I was still using an optical mouse, A lot of the stuff behind this is just image and marketing.

These days most of the wireless mice are just as good if not better, it comes down to preference and what you can be proficient with, hell I still do competition on a 4k display at 60hz where you have people swearing at organizers if the gear supplied isnt 1440 120hz minimum with wired razer mice.

With a mice the only really two issues you would see from a well constructed wireless mouse for gaming is :

Is it too small (2s? hell yes.. I hate this mouse my hands are too big for it) small handers and people who think their hands are big but still "fit it" love it. Good on them.

Are there annoying extras on it not needed? Yes for some it can be a deal breaker especially with the wheel locker or on the MX the annoying side buttons/wheel.

But make your own call. I can endorse or knock stuff all day long like everyone else can on here, it's up to someone interested in it to workout whether the reasons we like or hate something fit their requirements.

    • Seriously for a decade?

      • Actually serious. I was surprised too. Have the Amazon order confirmation from 09 Feb 2009, delivered on 18 Feb 2009 and still using it daily at work including right now.

Paid £29.99 at the time, 2xAAA batteries every year or so and it's still going strong.

        • Are you sure it's same model? As the listed one is with inbuild rechargeable battery…won't last a decade for sure

          • @SUD26:

I've had the predecessor, the VX Nano since 2009…

Didn’t say it was the same model. This ones the upgraded new one.

Having said that, my desktop mouse is the G700 from 2013 with rechargeable battery and also still works perfectly fine. I’m upgrading to an MX Master 3 on next discount.

  • Thanks OP. Already have one for home, ordered another for work. Love this mouse!

Does this mouse have a middle click button or does it change what scrolling mode you are in when you press it?

    • +1

Changes the scrolling mode. The small square button under the scroll acts as the middle mouse button.

      • +1

Thanks for that info mate. Deal breaker for me.

        • +2

how so? its the exact same functionality in a more accurate button (because sometimes clicking with the scroll wheel results in a left/right scroll)

i set my left/right scroll function to keyboard shortcuts for cycling through browser tabs, and having the middle click button assigned to an actual button is a much better solution than the scroll wheel itself.

          • +1

@Laserface: It's just muscle memory for me really. Don't want to have to change how i use the middle click button on this mouse when i have other mice i use that use the normal way of doing it. I'll get too confused! :)

Bought as work all over the place and needed a mouse to handle different surfaces and it does an very good job at that

Great mouse to pair with a laptop for work purposes. Long battery life, portable and very durable. I’ve dropped mine dozens of times and it continues to work. Have had mine for about two years now and bought for kids as well. Highly recommended.

  • MX Masters 2S, the larger brother of this one is also reduced to 74 at Amazon and Harvey Norman.

  • +3

$59 at JB-HIFI if that makes sense for anyone

  • Now looks like 1 - 3 months dispatch.
I add a tiny screengrab, however, don't know how to do that.

  • Bought one pickup. Handy being in FIFO sometimes :)
