OP, please read the title and tagging guidelines.

You've linked a gaming mouse, but tagged it as a "COVID-19 Test".

  • I didn’t post the affiliate link.

Please don't post amzn.asia links, for deals please try to post the full link.

    • Why does the link matter to you?

Not a very good mouse, has polling issues, motion delay and really bad DPI deviation. Not worth anywhere near this price

    • What a shame to hear. I want a new replacement for my G604, and having wireless, a side moving middle mouse and over 4 thumb buttons is a must for me. Lightness is a bonus, but not important. I was really hoping for this mouse to be good.

I’d suggest watch more reviews. Amazon YouTube reviews don’t seem to be that awful. I have kone air pro which works fine.

          • @CHUNITHM Luminous: "Lastly, I've found that rebinding buttons apparently doesn't work at all."

Absolute dealbreaker. Can anyone confirm this? Is the software that useless? For a mouse that costs almost $200, I expect it to be near perfect in all areas.

            • @shiny1: Don't have any Roccat mice at the moment but I'm not surprised if it doesn't work considering it's a Roccat.

            • @shiny1: The review commentary there is about the Swarm software and I've never had an issue with it rebinding buttons for years, although with a different mouse. It's also very frequently updated. So while it's possible it could be an issue with this specific mouse, it doesn't seem likely.

      • Even though I upvoted OP's comment, I have the Roccat Kone Xp Air and love it. I wasn't aware of polling issues but agreed I wish it was a bit cheaper.
I came from the G604 before that and prefer the Roccat by far. It's lighter + feels much better in hand and the thumb button is in a perfect place.
I did have scroll wheel problems with my first one, but Amazon replaced, and the swarm software is much better nowadays.

        • How would you compare the G604 and the XP Air? I've done the lightness "mod" to get it down to 105g and it's essentially gutted. The 6 side buttons have grown on me, to the point where 2 or 3 side buttons don't cut it anymore. I don't have much time for games nowadays so gaming performance and latency/dpi isn't much of a factor for me. Is the shape similar? Charging dock handy?

          • @shiny1: I also did the lightweight mod to my g604 and for a while I thought I’d never change, because I’m a creature of habit and also love mmo mice for fps games. But a good deal came up on Amazon for the Roccat and it was a very seamless transition. It’s a bit more flatter than the g604 which is kinda titled+curved, but I prefer it that way.
Charging dock is great and battery lasts forever.
The logi software has more predefined game macros and binds, but it’s not difficult to set it up in swarm manually.

Do not bother with Roccat. They don't have a official warranty system for purchases through Amazon. I purchased a Kone XP Air by following through a link from Roccats Australia website where it had Amazon as an official retailer. Amazon fulfilled the order from Amazon Japan (not Amazon Japan web address, but they just sent it from there). After 3 months the mouse screwed up. Went through Roccats support, they try some troubleshooting, agree it's faulty and instruct me to send it to their contract repairer in Sydney. This company tells me that it's faulty and that they can send me a white one as a replacement. I said no, as I bought a black one. They tell me that they don't know how long it'll take to get a black one and that I should just take the white. Again I declined, but the next thing I know they're saying it's not covered by Australian warranty as "I bought it from Japan" and they're not going to replace it. I send invoices and screenshots of the order being from Amazon Australia and point out that the link from Roccats website even lands on Amazon Australia with it showing its being filled by Amazon Japan. This repair mob tell me that Roccat is wrong! But they're still not honouring any warranty. I go back to Roccat support and explain what's happening, they just tell me they can't help, they don't sell the products directly in Australia and this repair centre is my only contact I have to deal with… At this point I lose it. I send all this information and the conversation history with the lippy secretary from this repair centre to Roccat, Five Star Games (their Australian redistributor) and Turtle Beach (their owners) along with letters to the ACCC and a letter from my lawyer informing them them that I'll be taking the matter to small claims for the faulty product and their false and misleading claims that the product is warranted in Australia because it was SENT from Japan (even though the invoice is from Amazon Australia and their ABN). Next thing I know I have Roccat Germany calling saying they'll fix me up and get a replacement. I just declined at this point, pressed Amazon for a refund and swore to never purchase a Roccat product again.

Thanks for this cautionary tale. I was humming and hawing about getting one, but the price put me off. I was wary of software, as I'm used to Logitech's G Hub (although it's been acting up recently on my g604), and most brand's software stinks in general. But this sent it over. I'll just deal with my slowly dying mouse and use my old but still alive g502 when it does die.

What a tragedy. I’d accept the white variant. Lucky I didn’t have issue with the kone pro air and Vulcan 1 keyboard

.. did you get a Roccat keyboard with a faulty return key as well?

  • +1

wont want to use it even if they pay me 189$.
so many good options out there and they came up with this?

  • I have this mouse, love the feeling of Roccat mice.
But I would never buy it again. I'm a clean person and don't have pets, but the scroll wheel is faulty. I've pulled the mouse apart and cleaned it with electrical contact cleaner and lubed it with silicone spray. After a month, it just goes back to not scrolling, or ignoring quick scrolls.
It's a common issue with this mouse and was fixed with a revision change. Something I have and I still have the problem.
I've noticed that their quality has gone downhill since being bought out by Turtle Beach. :(
