  • Note: EB Games will not price match on hardware.

    • +1

They ‘may’. Depends on the franchisee.

Mind sharing which store/s you've had success with on hardware price matches?

Here's my local EB price matching experience (hardware vs software), over the last 10+ years:

        • World Square - Hardware no. Software easy yes.
        • Broadway - Hardware no. Software easy yes.
        • Galeries Victoria - Hardware no. Software requires some push.
        • Westfield Sydney - Hardware no. Software depends on staff member.
        • Westfield Eastgardens - Don't bother. Rude, arrogant and make you jump through hoops.
        • Marrickville Metro Hardware no. Software easy yes.
        • Westfield Burwood - Hardware no. Software depends on staff member and alignment of the planets.
        • Westfield Chatswood - Hardware no. Software easy yes.
        • Westfield Bondi Junction - Hardware no. Software easy yes.
        • Macquarie Centre - Hardware no. Software easy yes.
        • Birkenhead Point - Hardware no. Software like pulling teeth.
        • Hurstville - Hardware no. Software easy yes.

Yeah, EB Games is inconsistent as hell with price matching. It’s like each employee has their own policy. I’ve been told the store I’m price matching needs to be in the same shopping centre, needs to be within driving distance, and a new one I was told the other week you need to be an EB Games member to price match.

With the outrageous prices and their stingy pricing match policies, it’s a no wonder they’re dying. I don’t even bother shopping there anymore when I can buy a game from any other retailer for $30 cheaper.

EB Ganmes does price match. I asked last time on the other mini consoles and was told instore that the shop you want to price match has to be in the same shopping centre/area as the EB Games store. They won't match stores online or in other shopping centres/suburbs.

      • Interesting. Which city are you in?

        • Sydney - Northern Beaches.

  • This was us$48.xx for Black Friday which is nearly aud$72. Damm we surely pay more for everything :(

    • Is that shipped from USA to Australia for AUD $72?

    • +1

      Was as low as USD48.20 + sales tax (say CA @ 7.25%) = ~USD51.80 (~AUD77 using mid-market FX rates).

Tip-in some international shipping, GST and actual FX rates and I think this AUD99 asking price looks pretty competitive.

  • +1

I may wait until it drops to $50

    • +2

      You'll be waiting a while…

  • No NBA Jam…no deal ;)

        • I note with glee that AliExpress is the Australian distributor. I could buy one just in time for Christmas 2020.

Which store are you referring to? As the OP lists multiple stores for the same price.

      • +1

        Target stock levels.

  • I’ve got so many mini consoles and largely never unbox them as too many current gen games to get through. Tempted to add this but think we might get better pricing down the track. Good price but might hold off! Or try to!

  • Someone on one of the bargain facebook groups I am on had a photo showing some of the targets have already reduced these to $50. That was in the Wangaratta store. Not sure if others would price match.

    • +2

I’m sure that $50 special was for the horrendously bad licensed AtGames Sega Flashback. Rubbish, avoid at all costs.

      • +1

Now that you mentioned it, I checked and its the trash one that includes the 81 games, and not this one.

  • Appears that all but Amazon have the Sega Mega Drive Mini console for $99 now.
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Sega-Mega-Drive-Mini/dp/B07Q9GCSGJ

  • All expired now.

    • It’ll be sub-$85 at some point soon. That’s when I’ll bite :)
