  • Thanks, picked one up…

Might want to add Leffe Blond $64

Over $100 at 1st Choice, etc

    • +1

      Thanks! Have chucked it in.

  • Thanks, got a couple

  • Thanks - this is what my family will be drinking at Christmas.

  • +13

Wild yak cans are 375ml whereas bottles are 345ml, so cans are cheaper per litre

    • Thanks. Picked up 2 cases,Preferred can over bottle as it lighter to recycle than bottle.

  • Thanks OP!

  • Cheers OP! Nice find.

  • no delivery to Sunshine Coast QLD…

  • Bugger wont be delivered in time for my party this weekend. Oh well

    • +1

      Where's my invite…?

  • Can anyone find info on the best before dates on it?
    Description doesn't say much.

    • +2

I got 2 cartons of cans from the deal a couple of weeks ago. BB late February, so a few months left. Can't say of course if this round will be dated the same.

  • +1

Thanks OP. That’s Christmas Day sorted.

  • +1

    Awesome OP, thanks!

Christmas beer stock for family sorted!

  • Great price. Now need a beer fridge for all this beer from recent deals.

  • Cheers op. Now I've bought 2 slabs of WY in the last week!

  • Is this ebay plus only? Showing $46 for me and coupon code not applying?

    • Coupon worked for me and my Plus Trial expired the day after Black Friday (yes, I did cancel ahead of time).

  • I would buy this in a heart beat, if they didn't use AusPost who didn't even try to deliver it to me.

    • its not just me! A number of times I've been home and gone out to discover the AusPost card in the mailbox saying they tried to deliver and no one was home. Sure they did. They seem to greatly prefer me going to the parcel pickup than them actually delivering.

  • Now I dont feel so bad for 'sampling' the last slab for Christmas. Christmas day replenished

Probably not the best forum for this, but I urge everyone to consider buying beer from independent Aussie breweries instead of overseas corporations this summer.
There is so much good beer made locally and we should support these businesses. A quick guide:

    Aussie brands:
Stone & Wood, Young Henrys, Bentspoke Brewing, Gage Roads, Hawkers, Two Birds, Stomping Ground, Bridge Road.

NOT Aussie brands (although they market them as such):
Carlton, Fat/Wild Yak, Furphy, Little Creatures, James Squire, Matilda Bay, 4 Pines, Pirate Life, Balter, Mountain Goat, Green Beacon, Cricketers Arms, Yenda, Feral Brewing, John Boston.

    • +2

You left out Coopers who at least don't charge an arm and a leg.

The "problem" with supporting the "independent brewers" is that you'll either drink half as much, or pay twice as much, especially at this price for a megabrew!

      • Sorry, you're right - Coopers is also independent. I don't particularly like their beers so I always forget them in this conversation.

Yes, they are more expensive, but most of the time the product is far better. I guess it depends what you're drinking it for.

      • Exactly. Bentspoke is great, been to their CBR alehouse but it's not bloody cheap. None of the brands listed are reasonably priced in comparison…

    • +4

Agree on both counts - drink local/independent and wrong forum

      • +2

Yep, you're right. But if I can change just one person's purchase, it's worth it!

    • +1

Which no longer includes Balter :(

      • Yep, that sale was part of the reason I wanted to post this comment.

    • Look for the Indie Seal.

      http://iba.org.au/seal/

      • +3

That's a start, but a lot of independent breweries don't display the seal because it costs quite a lot to be an IBA member.

        • Yes. This is true. To my knowledge Hawkers and Holgate are a couple of independent breweries who do not display the indie seal.

There is some debate around the effectiveness and application of the Independent Seal. But as you say though, it's a start.

And like this conversation, the Indie Seal hopefully influences people to think and talk about what independent beer is and whether it's important to them.

Like you say, if we can influence one person's purchase, it's worth it.

    • I think gage roads got bought out

      • +3

I believe they're still 100% independently owned. I think Woolworths had a 25% share in them at one point, but Gage Roads bought them out and are back to 100% independent.

        • oh okay awesome, yeah woolies previously had a stake with them but I think maybe 2 months ago that wasn't the case. I did speak to a bloke from Gage and he said sormthing about merging or taking over the Mateo's ginger beer people

  • Price has been jacked up to $55 (so comes to $44 after applying the coupon).

  • +1

just got jacked, right as I was paying. $55 now. Crooks.

  • did they just change their price from $46 TO $55?

  • +1

    Price jacked.

  • $60 now

    • +1

Do I hear $70. Any advance on $60? Going once…

  • +1

    Leffe still available, yum :-)

  • +1

HoeGaarden cheap on there to @48 a case

    • Haha, that's what I usually get when the ebay CUB deals are on when I see it posted, did not even check for that. I love Leffe and for only $16 extra I will enjoy having these over the next few weeks, not sure if they will last until New Years though lol.

  • Delivered today.

    • +1

Mine arrived too… I've put some Leffe's in the freezer that should be icy when the Cricket starts.

      • Nice! What's the best before on the Leffe?

        • +1

Best before date on both carton and individual bottle shows 23/09/20. I assume the year 2020 but wonder…

  • The Wild Yak cans are back down to $50, if you can combine with this eBay Plus trial deal you can get them for $30 delivered, or the Leffe for $60 delivered.

  • Is anybody else still waiting on theirs? I ordered 3 slabs and the tracking says that it should have come Monday, but is still "Item processed at facility SYDNEY NSW"
