Another cheap one from Myer (I don't think we're getting sick of hearing that line yet)

Looks as though they added the Nintendo DSi range to their online gift store, and selling them quite cheap at $129 a piece.

They've been down to around that price for the big sales from the big companies, but they've seemed to have gone back up to the $180-190 mark.

Good for those that aren't willing to venture into 3DS territory quite yet.

And I believe it's free shipping just like all the other deals from Myer.

        personally i wish i didn't upgrade from DSi to the XL,
        the XL just doesn't feel as solid as the dsi

      Well…. The DSi doesn't take a "modchip" technically, so I suppose so!

          Flash card. :)

          Modchips usually require modification to the console (ie. opening it up and solder things), and usually contain a chip. :P

    Not sure if I should get it (Have a DS Phat, DS Lite and 3DS). I am probably better off getting another DS Lite.

          You won't regret it, I have three DS Lites and I thought they were the best too until I got a DSi. Despite the lack of GBA slot I really like it, the slightly bigger screen size is great and the buttons feel a lot nicer than the Lite :) I've barely touched my Lites since I got the DSi.

          (that said, if you decide you don't like your DSi I'll gladly take it off your hands :P just wanted a blue one, and they sold out before I got paid!)

      You can try your luck, it's not like it says "Online Price only".

      According to some people, Myer is closing up their gaming side of sales, and some people are finding cheap games in-store aswell.

      If all else fails, just call up your nearest store.

      They ship from Victoria so if you're in Melbourne it should only be a couple of days.

    I have a DS Lite, was thinking of getting a DSi XL from Myer for $179. Not sure if I should though. Is the XL any good? Do the games look good on the bigger screen?

      The DSi XL screens are amazing. Battery life is great too since the battery is physically bigger. There are the same issues with DSi in region-locking of DSi-enhanced games (fine if you don't import from the US, you can still import from the UK) and lack of GBA slot but the DS Lite you already have solves that, you can play DSi-enhanced games in any DS Lite without region locking. The main issue with the XL is that it's less portable since it's bigger, so it probably won't fit in your pocket. If you can put up with that, then go for it for sure.

        Cool. I grabbed an XL from JB. Got them to price match Myer for $179 because Myer only had one Bronze one left and that was the display mode. I liked the Bronze the best.

          Just so you know, I saw DSi in stock at my Myer. They had it at $199. Make sure you bring proof that it is $129 in store and maybe they will price match.

          Also, there was tons of games on sale then on clearance for 40% off. Some great bargains to be had ;)

    Haven't received this or the ps3 James Bond. I received the pokemon games and monkey ball though 4 days ago.

      I haven't.. I received the accessory pack i ordered but not the console. rang Myer help line and they advised that the console is not in stock and never was when the price was advertised.

      Their 'stock fulfilment' team advised they (the on-line store) will not be getting any more in stock. I was not able to get them to give me stock from a local store either…

      they offered full refund but I'm so annoyed right now.

        Thanks for this, I will call them up tomorrow to chase up my order. I'll be very annoyed too if they tell me they don't have it.

        Conversely, I have 8 shipping notices from 6 orders during this sale and only 4 received. I suspect they've sent one shipping notice for each SKU in my orders, but I can't tell because they don't tell you which order number was shipped. I can't say I'm particularly impressed by Myer's online store, messing up shipping notices, selling stock they don't have and not communicating about out-of-stock items, charging before shipment (most online stores charge on shipment, even when you pay by Paypal - eg. zavvi/thehut). I already have to call them since they called me the week before last to say they didn't have one item I ordered and would refund me for it and ship the other items in the order. I thought I would wait until I receive the rest of the order since they might only refund when they ship it, but it arrived yesterday and they still haven't refunded the missing item.
