Incredible price, good on you A2A for being so competitive in times like this.

  • No way!

    • +3

      Way!

  • worth upgrading to these over galaxy buds?

  • These vs Bose Soundsport Free? Should I upgrade?

  • +18

Fark. Just bought 3, one for me, missus and my newborn son.

    • +1

      newborn son

      Wut?

      • +37

Only the best for my son.

      • Ear protection in young kids is important.
Though the odds of getting to the racetrack or anything in the near future is spotty…..

    • +1

      Newborn son? Interesting …

      • For more effective communication in-between family member lol

      • quarantine baby xD

  • Same price as the ebay deal before, I will bite the bait.

  • Got one yesterday for same price - fantastic SQ

    • +3

Lol thanks for letting us know about the deal

      • +2

was an ebay plus deal from last week - arrived yesterday

  • Why would I buy from eBay. This would save me a lot of efforts.

  • +6

Noise cancellation for self isolation 😂

  • Holy moly!

  • Bought them anyway. Hope they're an upgrade compared to my Bose Soundsport Free

  • Thanks OP!

  • Wow that's cheap. Have the Bose sound sport pods and wired wireless…should be an interesting comparison

  • +2

    Buy now think later…

    • yup, likewise….

  • -2

    Bought one, Thanks OP!!!

Bought one from amazon for $300 with 15% cashback, returned it because of glitch but cashback went in my account (not pending anymore), and now got this for $200 :P Bring on isolation!

  • Are these better than airpods"?

    • +19

Is a Porsche faster than a Hyundai Getz?😂

      • nice one :P

      • +4

I hate apple as much as the next person, but that is not an apt analogy.

(FWIW, I personally wouldn't buy either)

        • What would you buy?

          • +1

@John Kimble: I BOUGHT IT GUYS THANKS ALL

          • +1

            @John Kimble: Fiio BTR5. ;)

But if you forced me to buy a TWS, I would probably buy the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro. (Or just a cheap chinese pair - which is what I have done)

(ps. Just to clarify, I meant I personally wouldn't buy - not that I was suggesting noone should buy it. I tried to edit to clarify, but I couldn't)

        • +1

Happy to hear a better analogy if you have one…

          • +2

@danzster: Flagship Samsung phone vs flagship Apple phone - one is better at some things, the other is better at other things. And they are both overpriced.

            /END.

neg me if you like, but your analogy was stupid and shows your lack of knowledge of the products your talking about. Have a nice day.

            • +1

@caprimulgus: Thought we were talking about ear phones and not flagship phones? Also the initial question for the apple air pods weren't even for the new "flagship" Pro version with noise cancellation. Don't think you've made out your case that the analogy wasn't "apt"

              • +1

                @danzster:

Thought we were talking about ear phones and not flagship phones?

                umm…

Happy to hear a better analogy if you have one…

                (Hint: That was my analogy).

                • -1

@caprimulgus: Sorry, that wasn't a better analogy. One has ANC, and the other one doesn't. One's design was from ground up, whilst the other is a wireless derivative of the same design from previous wired iterations.

Hence the analogy to show that it's not even in the same league ( a Porsche cf Hyundai Getz). If he had suggested the airports pro, perhaps you could make the argument.

As it stands, as far as aptness goes…

            • +1

@caprimulgus: (profanity) Siri and (profanity) Bixby.

      • Unless it's a dirty old 944 running on 3 cylinders.

      • I dunno; the fastest car you'll drive is always the rental companies… :p

    • Hell yes

  • Brand new stock?

    • Yes brand new.

  • -1

    Dammit, paid $277 last week.

They're nice to use with the phone and Windows, but sounds like cheap airline headphones on Linux.

Has anyone had luck getting it to work in high quality audio on Ubuntu 19?

    • +2

You talking your Ubuntu device on the go?

      • Well Ubuntu does have a smartphone-like OS.

      • -1

nah, Ubuntu on laptop. when connected the sound is low quality and full of static

    • I would be interested in what the issue is if you end up finding out! What package are you using for playback?

      • it seems to do with Linux assuming headsets are low quality output if they have a mic

I'm not sure what the exact issue is yet, still to find a working solution.

        • Maybe try another software for playback to rule that out, could be playing audio in MONO for some reason. Are you using Blueman to connect them?

          • +1

@Calran: yep blueman to get it connecting properly

not using any particular software to play back audio, just leaving youtube on in the browser.

fiddled with pulseaudio and some config files but no luck

ubuntu o/s sound settings panel lets me choose the headset (after fixing it with blueman) but switching to A2DP causes the low-quality audio to stop playing via bluetooth and switches to laptop speakers

that's about as far as I got

edit: I just gave it another shot and found the right dance to get it working

            • if I change system mic to WF1000xm3 the audio quality for output turns to shit even if its on A2DP
            • in order to fix output quality, I need to change the mic back to internal mic and output configuration back to HSP/HFP, then back to A2DP
            • I have to manually pick the WF1000xm3 mic on Zoom for it to maintain playback quality but I'm not sure how well the mic quality holds up yet

It's annoying as shit but not the fault of Sony

            • @twig: Damn, that sounds super annoying. When my pair arrives I'll test it out on Plasma and see if I get the same issue or not.

              • @Calran: Sounds great!! Really happy with them but I did connect it as A2DP off the bat. I assume yours are connected like This when it sounds good but like you're experiencing, it likely reverts once the system attempts control of the mic. Any look using the touch buttons to control playback with play and pause?

Don't know anything about these and still bought them. Bloody OzBargain addiction!

    • +1

Even if you don't know anything about them i can guarantee they're really good earbuds. You snagged a great bargain

  • Great deal. Thanks OP.

  • Bought one. Thanks op

  • +1

    Hi OP,
Any chance for an MDR-Z7M2 deal for $438 as in the previous year? Thanks.

  • Many thanks OP…. bought some for my 11 year old daughter to get her over the doldrums of being under house arrest.

  • +1

if you have the overhead WH-1000XM3 on sale too?

  • got one, thanks!

  • Which ones produce a better sound these or the overhead Bose 700?

  • I don't know why I bought one. Thanks OP

  • Bought 2, thanks op

  • Got it! Thanks!

  • +3

    Positives

    Sound quality
    Google Assistant integration
    Modern design
    Auto play/pause
    Adaptive sound
    Intuitive touch controls

    Negatives

    Cost
    Large charging case
    No water-resistance

0 water resistance? What is this? A fire type pokemon?
Bought one anyway. Thought about using it for exercise.. Thanks OP.

  • These good for cycling? They stick in your ear pretty good?

    • +2

not great for sports related activities, theyre big and bulky and sticks out of your ear quite a bit. More for the daily commute on public transport kind of thing.

      • Plus no water resistance

    • +1

Probably not, when I shake my head a few times they do come loose and fall out

    • If you cross or use any roads it's not safe to use earplug style earphones.

  • got 1!!!! can't hold it anymore haha. Thanks OP

  • +1

Does anyone know whether you can claim these as work expenses?

    • +1

Sure handsfree headset for working from home cause of the Rona.

    • Depends on your job.
If you make work calls using them then maybe?

      • I don't think they're good with calls unless you're in a very quiet area

        • I think they are fine now after the last few firmware updates, just not amazing.

  • -2

No buy from this seller, won't do a return.

    • +5

You have to be more specific. Was it faulty? Or was it a change of mind?

    • Lol at you claiming A2A has poor customer service. They have amazing customer service. You probably wanted a change of mind return.

      • -2

nope, crap service, Mod: Removed Personal Attack and Accusation

        • +2

So do tell us how you were egregiously wronged? Provide some detail? Without the name-calling if you can control your temper tantrums.

If course if you can't communicate civilly then it comes as no surprise you fail to get what you want in your interactions…

  • Never knew about these but bought thanks to you peeps! Ozbargain4Life!

  • Bought one !!! :) Thanks OP
