Well in these times when half the population seems to have simultaneously contracted diarrhoea, you take what you can get.

      • My local coles had the big packs of Quilton for $12 i think

      • Woolworths is like $1 but Coles has lots for 50 cents per roll

    • Mine's fully stocked too. I'm in Melbourne.

    • +1

Not in Adelaide. They had some idiot on the news last night trying to return 132 packs of toilet rolls and 150 one-litre bottles of hand sanitiser woth $10,000 to a store for a refund.

      • I just read that story literally minutes ago.

      • For Darke supermarket right?

  • Just went to the Woolies in. District Docklands and they have stacks of toilet paper!

  • +1

    I've missed out everytime

  • +1

phew, the ability to wipe our arses in dire times isnt being overlooked thankfully.

  • Not just toilet paper were out of stock for many weeks.

Any type of flour, sugar, long life milk pretty much sold out and more than 60% of the supermarkets were empty.

  • -1

    4 ply or bust!!!

  • Keep missing it! There's plenty around in the shops locally in Melbourne, but nothing near my parents in Adelaide so I'm trying hard to grab some for them πŸ˜•

    • Where? I can't see any in the northern suburbs.

      • +1

I'm in Melton - shops here are fully stocked (full price though!)

        • Oh well, none in Coburg, Essendon and around there

    • +2

What suburb are your parents in?

I'm in Adelaide. I can help if needed.

    • not in the city, still only getting mostly 8 packs locally and sometimes if you are lucky you'll see a 24 or 20 pack but they are hard to come by

    • +1

Yeah saw these too. Any reviews?!

    • gooooooooone

  • +1

peops, did you see the news about the guy trying to sell his 5200 roll stash? How many rolls do you need?

    • Didn't see it but clowns who think they can corner the market. It isn't like gold or silver where you have to find a deposit, build the mill and refine it.

  • Oh my hole…..

  • There was an ebay listing their app was promoting yesterday…. $40 for this same thing.

    Assholes.

  • What the hell is it with dunny paper, didn't people wipe there arse before?

  • +5

  • Just managed to buy a pack, not sure if it's back in stock but order went through

Just says Cart empty to me when I hit buy

  • Cannot be added to cart =S

  • I don’t think there is much point to posting these β€œdeals”

The β€œdeal” expires within 5 mins usually.

  • Bloody hell I keep missing this

What happened to Quilton upping their production? I haven't seen toilet paper on the shelves of my local since this all started.

    • unelectric I think it was all Lies, only saw it a Woolworths this week for the First time in 6 Week, absolutely none at Coles still.

    • Correct. Lies. To curb panicking.

      • If you think about it - about third to half your time is spent out of the home.

Lots of people do their "#2 business" at work, school, university, public facilities, etc. Plus probably half the population pats dry after #1. Maybe more…

We had a survey at work when the first out-of-stock shenanigans were occurring and lots of dudes do their #2 at work…

Those places get either the one ply paper, or the huge rolls of paper that won't fit on your paper holder at home. Some out-of-home places may get stocked up with normal retail toilet paper…

Now everyone is buying retail packets, the 3 or 4 ply, packs of 8, 10, 12, 24, etc. The factories need to swap the entire production line from commercial packaging to retail packaging, plus go through a lot more paper (3 ply vs 1 or 2 ply).

Same amount of business being done, just more paper used and different packaging.

The machines that make the big commercial bundles of super-tight packed toilet paper would need to be changed over (if possible). Supply chains around the world are being impacted - not sure if the plastic wrap is made in Australia, etc.

Plus a bunch of people are hoarding it, which also put strain on the supply of stuff home consumers prefer to use.

Same story with flour - Australia should have enough. But the bakeries, caterers, get 25kg+ bags. Not sure if people want 25kg bags sitting the pantry. You could get some of those plastic bins and tightly seal it. Not sure if people like the look of that in your kitchen. We did in a commercial kitchen - it was cheap and kept bugs out.

        ymmv

  • Got it on the weekend for $13.something from Costco north lakes.

  • Surely people are still not needing toilet paper? Or is it because you want it delivered to home? As my Woolworths (Brisbane) has an entire row of toilet paper.

    • +2

Ahh so the idiots are all in sydney then

    • Will $16 include delivery is good price?

    • +2

Must be a 1ot of nuts in my area, no toilet paper in any supermarkets for at least 4 weeks.
