  • I'm tempted. Can someone talk me out of it? I see some people lamenting buying this and not an Engel

    • If your after that specific size they are a good fridge, I have one of these (below) all be it an earlier model and it has performed excellently. Pre order for just over $800

Go for a cfx instead. Much more solid build. Engels aren't worth the premium price over a cfx

This is lighter than the Engel and is proven to be more effeicient (There's a couple of youtube videos on this). Also has side opening lid which can be changed to open either way if that's useful to you.

I've had mine for 2 years now and hasn't skipped a beat. I plug it in at home when not camping and is used as our drinks fridge (I like my beers much colder than the food fridge).

Oh and it's half the price of the Engel (MT45).

    • About 5 years ago I bought the smaller cf-40 for the same price.

We run ours off 12v when camping and 240v when we need extra refrigeration at home if we’re having family around.

We love the fridge. Awesome for camping.

Wish we had the bigger Cf-50.

There are other models with WIFI control, but the older CF model is perfect for us.

  • I have had this fridge for about 5 years now. Hasn't missed a beat. Runs as a second fridge in the study for drinks when I am not camping. Great little unit, for a 50l fridge it doesn't take up much space, If you plan on using it a lot, splurge on a CFX, significantly lower power draw, much better lid latch (I am on my second lid).

  • CFX range is getting phased out for the CF3, I'd wait and keep an eye on them.
