Predator - 4 Movie Collection (4K Ultra HD) + Bonus Pocket Pop! Keychain $32.89 @ JB Hi-Fi

150

Seeing as each movie sells for $29.98 on their site and Amazon sell them from between $20 to $30 each with a box set for $65

This looks like a good deal at $8.22 per movie.

Inside the packaging there's 4x 4K-UHD cases with disks, identical to the ones purchased individually.
The only difference i can see is there's no plastic wrapping on each case so you cant resell them as new.
Includes Pocket Pop! Keychain.

They also have a 3x 4k-UHD set for $23.09 for those who cant stand the latest movie. Comes to $7.69 each

These dont look to be streaming on any platform at the moment and can be rented online from $5 to $11 at only 1080P.

Part of this 30% off deal here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/556072 but i think it's worth giving it its own post.

iTunes store has the 4 movie collection all at 4k at $34.99 which works out at $29.74 for those who took advantage of the last 15% off deal.

If you care about having the best picture/sound stick with the discs. If you don’t iTunes 4K is fine

"4K Blu-ray delivers the best video and audio quality for movies. Although streaming is the most popular way to watch 4K content, if you want the best image and audio quality, you need a 4K Blu-ray player. Streamed 4K HDR movies can look and sound very good, but discs are even better"

Not even going to get into internet speed issues for streaming 4K-HDR or digital licencing rights that could be changed or removed at some point in the future.

100% correct. Vast difference in quality between 4K Blu- ray and streaming. Anyone who says differently either needs their eyes checked, get a better TV, or is dreaming.

Personally, I think the only movie worth watching is the 1st, maybe the 2nd. But each to their own. Still, a pretty good deal.

As someone with a fairly big collection of 4K Blu-rays, and a decent collection of iTunes 4k, I agree fully.

      That's Blu-Ray, not 4k Blu-Ray

      • oh darn.

      • There is a 4k set there for 29.99 by the look. At least according to the cover image of the second entry in the list.

    • Snap!

damn that limited edition pop is sick though - but i hate the latest garbage movie

    • AVP2 is still worse but strangely AVP1 was better. Different directors i guess.

      • +1

haha if we talking spin off's then yes AVP2 Requiem was a steaming pile of hot mess and a slap to the face of the franchise. Jesus im just remembering it now haha wtf was that

      • +1

AVP2 was made for half the budget of AVP1 by special effects brothers who were not even film directors but were so disappointed with AVP they thought they could do a better a job. But neither was as bad as The Predator which was a complete train wreck.

I think the writing in AVP2 is what made it bad, it had the right ingredients to make a great movie but making it into a slasher flick was the wrong way to go. Also the maternity ward scene was wrong, just wrong.

@godofpizza: Yeah! Never though to think of it like a slasher - scream with aliens sitcho

Good work OP putting the link to the 3 movie set - the last movie was so bad I have no interest in it at all.
    Q. Original 'Predator' has had multiple poor quality releases on Bluray and there seems to be a few versions on 4K as well (I could be wrong about the 4K) Is the version in the 3 movie Box set a decent one ?

  • Can I just buy the pocket pop somewhere without the movies?? Looks awesome!
