      I think you need sleep

      • +3

        I need a translator.

    • Are you OK Slapstickz? You're not making much sense.

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

    • I think you sleep texted this.

    • Yeah. Was just thinking of this exact word salad when I woke up this morning. Stay safe champ.

Thanks, are any of the accessories for the pro 2 on sale too?

  • +2

A cursory glance would show that you can get the 3 pack for $551 and add this $160 camera to make it $711, cheaper than the 4 pack at $749. Nice find OP!

    • I don't get it 160X3=480 and 160X4=640 why not buy them individually than in a pack?
      Am I missing something.

      • I think you need a base station which comes in the 3 pack.

        • Correct. You need a base station for your initial setup.

        • Yeah then we are talking about buying a brand new system and not an add on.
          It makes sense then.

      • You get the base station in the three pack mentioned. So essentially you build yourself a cheaper four camera starter kit.

  • To buy or not to buy sighh

Will it work with Arlo ultra base station ?

    • +2

      Yes it will.

      • Thanks.

  • +3

Just a reminder, if you splash out and have over 5 cameras you’ll need a paid subscription.

    • Thanks for reminding me!!
So 5 is ok but 6 you have to pay correct?

      • +1

correct. I have 6 cameras and have to pay $13 subscription fee.

        • +1

          per month?/year? once off?

I am running 9 cameras on the free account, but two base stations (about to become 14 cameras with three base stations).

For the second base station, you create a second account (with a new email address for it).
Then you go into your original base station settings, and delegate that new email address/account to be able to access your original base station
Now in the original station, you will see all the cameras.

Note: You are still restricted to just 7 days recordings across all devices.

      • That’s brilliant, thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks OP!

  • My suggestion don’t buy this system better wired one is more reliable then wireless. I paid 1100 for 5 cameras. And does work properly now after 2yers

    • What system did you get?

    • +1

That’s the whole point of battery powered cameras though. To avoid wiring? Plus these can be hardwired

    • I’m running the Arlo Pro2 system wired. Works well now 1.5yrs.
Battery is kept charged in case of power outage and OPS battery backup for base station.
Adding another camera to make it 5.
      Thanks OP

Hmm.. have had these for a few years, I dunno, seems like video quality has deteriorated now that the ultra and 4K ones are out.. funny business by Netgear to force an upgrade? Maybe…

Will this work with a Pro (1) base station?

    • I am also interested to know the answer to this

    • What is the model of the BaseStation? If it is a VMB4000 then it will definitely work.

    • +2

Pro 2 works with all Arlo base stations.

Just a word of warning, I returned my Arlo system, could not set custom notification sound on iOS so same sound as text message or news alert. They've been promising that feature since 2017, but no movement on what seems like a simple change in the app. If you don't care about that or are on Android then no issues with Arlo :-)

    • +8

Should have just returned your iPhone 😉

      • LOL, probably… did find it a bit weird that the mother-in-law's Eufy cheapie system (at the time) could do it.. could have switched hers out with mine too ;-)

  • Might want to check out wyze. I got mine from us amazon and it works like a breeze.

Was considering arlo system however the wired reolink system looks incredible and cheaper. I don't care about laying cable. Thoughts?

    • +2

I have installed reolink system few weeks ago. Paid about $420 for pvr and 4 5mp cameras. Don't regret it one bit and not having to replace batteries is a big plus. One of the cameras is 5m up and it would be a pain to get to everytime. Now thinking of adding extra cameras. It's great and can view footage from anywhere. The only time I would consider wireless is if you cant run ethernet cable to camera location.

      • did you have to get an electrician to install it? i am looking at trying to budget an install too.

  • Showing $249 for me. Have I missed out or am I missing something?

    • You missed out 😉

  • damn slept on this now in having regrets lol

    • lol same

      • It’s dropped to $189 now if you’re still keen

        • Waiting for 100 to 120. Wishful thinking ?
