Looks like a great deal. From what I hear Virgin phones can be used on Optus as well so if you want a spare Optus phone for about $20 it's a great deal. You could then sell the recharge voucher on eBay for $25 and I'm sure someone would buy it (or sell it to a mate).

    Lots of possibilities, good deal!

  • The $29 voucher allows you to call for free Virgin mobiles.

Is it free call to any virgin numbers or its just limit for virgin prepaid to virgin prepaid? What about virgin prepaid to virgin plan?

  • TOTALLY WORTH IT…but i already have a 2 spare phones ><

  • Was told, sold out at Burwood East in Victoria :(

    — update —

    Got mine now :)

Been using it for a few days. Quick impressions.

Looks very, very nice, especially for a $19 phone. Light weight, slim, bright, good speaker and microphone.

Actually, very impressed with the microphone. If I'm in a quiet place (eg library corridor) I can whisper really quietly and the other person can hear.

Quite a strong vibration. You can't play with the volume setting as far as I know (I haven't read the manual yet, but the settings are laid out in a straight forward manner). It does have a few profiles though. General, silent, vibrate only and outdoor.

SMS modes include T9 text and you can add words to the dictionary. Also standard text and number entry modes too.

1st charging time was about 1 - 3 hours only. I've had almost 3 hours of calls so far and it still says 50% battery life. (Also leaving the phone on for about 14 hours a day … in the 2nd day now)

    All up … a pretty decent 2nd phone :)

Oh, it uses a proprietary charger plug and hands free piece. You can't plug in a 2.5 mm or 3.5 mm audio jack.

    • Outdoor is quite loud too :)
