Most tennis courts have a pro store with some second hand racquets. Ask to have a hit with a few and go from there.

Gumtree and Facebook marketplace are also pretty good with good cheap racquets if you don't need the latest and "greatest".

I can tell you what a good racquet is, but it might not 'feel right' to you. Best bet is to go and swing a few in the shop and pick the one that feels best. If you are a learner, then thats fine until you are better. At which stage you understand more about your game and how a racquet can help

  • I Work at a Tennis Centre that has Social Tennis. Clubs usually have racquets that you can borrow (Atleast ours does) and we recommend everyone who's on the fence about a racquet to have a hit with some before making the plunge. Its not "One size fits all" and you're better off trying the demo pieces before making the plunge to buy one.
