[iOS, Android] Monster Hunter Stories $6.49 (Android), $7.99 (iOS) @ Google Play/Apple App Store (Was $30.99)

I was looking at the top sellers on Android and this one caught my eye. Looks like this went on sale on the 22nd not a bad little deal for a Pokemon like game!

I dont believe this supports controllers.

Tip for anyone trying to play this before sequel comes out.

The Australian App Store listing suggests there are 5 language options. This is false. Additional language options are available but they are on other region’s App Store.

I played this on 3DS and really loved it.

Full price on mobile is a bit steep, but for this price it's VERY worth it!

    Thanks OP!
Really needed to spend my Google Credit for something worthy.

Yeah me too! That stuff expires over time!

      • It does seem to extend it if you actively do surveys, at least that's what I've noticed.

I don't think the credit 'extends' as such. Assuming you're referring to Google Opinions Rewards, I believe each 'reward credit' has a 12-month expiry from the date it is credited. You can check it from the Play Store under 'Payment methods' but not in the Rewards app itself.

          • @Sambino: Yeah but the amount I've had has been slowly increasing over the past years and it's never been removed.

          • @Sambino: how do you check each one though? I've had a general "date" given of expirey, but given i have like $100 or so of total credits, over time each would be earned over severla different days, weeks and months? Yet i'm only ever quoted one expiry date rather than one for each $0.40 credited or the like? or do they all merge into one date and get extended as you do surveys?

Problem is once netflix cancelled the darn google play subcriptions. All the google play credits i'd loaded on ozb specials were useless. still stuck with $200 and never end up buying any apps… wish there was a list of apps with subscription costs laid out or google play subscription apps so one can spend their credit.

Also heads up from reading the reviews, as OP mentioned no controller support, but also it has an always-online DRM.

Still a great game though, but may be a turn off for some.

There's also a demo available on iOS (I'm assuming on Android as well) called "MHST The Adventure Begins" if anyone wants to try it out.

I'm a Pokemon/Digimon game fan and this was worth paying full price for; played it on both 3DS and iOS. Highly recommended.

  • Nice find!
