Green - $143.53 (Couldn't fit in the title)

My first post, please be gentle.

Tried getting these keyboards when they were on sale last time. Only green was in-stock.
Orange and Yellow are now cheaper (was $280~ last time I checked)

Compared to Umart and JB, these are a fair bit cheaper especially considering it's very hard to find cheap local stock for the Yellow and Orange switches.

For those that don't know the colours:

Green: Super loud, satisfying clicks (think Cherry MX Blue)
Yellow: Silent linear (think Cherry MX Red)
Orange: Silent* tactile (think Cheery MX Brown) *Not silent, but definitely less noisy in comparison to the Green switches.

I’m interested to know if they’ve fixed the reliability issues that plagued the early versions. I imagine so, or the forums would be full of comments to that effect.

    • I am using my V1 10 years on now.

      • I have the V1 version, purchased 2014 according to my email records, about 3 or 4 of the switches are almost dead, 1 of the LED's doesn't work with the Red part of RGB, Razer won't repair it and I purchased some Razer switches off eBay but never got around to attempting a repair.
$140 to replace what was $209 in 2014 seems decent..

I purchased a blackwidow green from amazon about 6 monhs ago. Had random key repeating/sticking keys. Just got it replaced through warrenty as their troubleshooting didnt work. Same thing happening, not even a week old. Wouldnt recommend.

      • I purchased one a couple of years ago and had serious problems with the volume wheel, to the point that I ended up moving to a K100 out of frustration.
Probably worth the sale price if you can get a good one however.

  • I wanted to post this but it came up as a duplicate. I reported a previous deal then as available again but didn't get any update. Should I just repost in the future? ps: I ordered one 2 days ago and was shipped today. Est. delivery is 2nd of Feb

  • The green had been about $120 for a few months. This is a price increase.
    Unsure about the other 2.

Yea they go to around $120-$130 every so often. Bought mine for $122 in Orange last month

      • Oh, where in Orange did you buy it?

    • I believe that is the case. However, usually when these deals get posted, the Yellow switches run out of stock in the first few minutes, or none at all. If people are looking for green switch, I'd suggest to just wait it out until the next sale.

    GREEN IT IS.

    • I hate the green.. I ordered the Yellow's :) Hope this will replace my Logitech G910 else my kid is getting a new keyboard lol

      • I've got the G910. Love it. If the Yellow has a similar feel to G910, i'll be getting one.

Yea I'm a big fan of Razer but the last keyboard I had annoyed the @&$# out of me. The Logi is very nice but I would like to give razer a shot again and the reviews seems to say the Yellow switches are nice so I'll let you know.

Ok so I got mine today. it looks AMAZING. I do like a bulky keyboard and the additional macro keys on the logi is nice but the RGB on this Razer is really well done and with Synaps my mouse and keyboard is super nice.

The Typing on it is soft. I would say the G910 is a little softer but not really that much of a difference. The razer does sound nice. Its a more clicky sound than the G910 which is more a tap sound.. if that makes any sense.

Where the razer is a full on win for me is this palm pad. Its super super super nice. I bought it mainly for it and it does not disappoint. The only downside is the stupid magnets. When I move my keyboard you have to move the rest as well else it stays behind but I just used some blu tack and it works 100% lol. Magnets should be a bit stronger imo. But easy fix and no damage to it so..

It does feel strange moving to the Razer from the G910 but I'll use it for a few days as the typing is really nice. Strange because its a lot smaller than the G910. Worst case is I'll hand the razer to the kid and take my G910 back hahaa.. But I doubt I'll change. Hope this helps to make a decision to buy it.

I have green, can confirm it is satisfying.

If clicky is your thing, have a look at them box jades:

  • the orange was down to around $130 few weeks ago.

  • Was thinking of getting some new coloured caps and a wrist rest but at this price it might be better just to buy a new keyboard ;O

  • Thanks OP

Note* Green Switch delay: In stock on February 14, 2021 ;)

  • Finally got a yellow switch. Got the green. Which I like, but is so loud and based on expert reviews, yellow is a bit faster when clicking

  • Keep in mind that hybrid switches can not be replaced like a true mechanical keyboard. This probably wouldn't bother most people though

    • what do you mean by hybrid switches?

      • Here is a good explanation

Kids (but probably me) must have spilled something on my spacebar was very sticky. Fortunately just the one switch was impacted, so swapped the switch with a lesser used character. If full mechanical I could have considered replacing the switch

  • If you wanted the Huntsman Elite with optomechanical switches, there is a deal here:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/596895

    For comparison:
    Linear Optical @ $229.66
    Clicky Optical @ $262.74

    • i like the idea of the optical switch, but so expensive though…. i will pull the trigger if they make a cherry brown (or razer orange) equivalent one.

      • Yeah, we have the Clicky switches and they are very nice. But agree about the tactile over the click. The PC is unplayable at night due to the noise!

  • Anyone recommend any multi device wireless mechanical keyboard (besides the logi g915). I was looking at k1 v4 but saw bluetooth connection dropouts as huge concern from reviews

    • Do you mean Keychron K1 V4?

I haven't had any issues with my K8, nor have two of my other friends.

      • Yea keychron k1 v4. Do you switch normally between mac and pc on an ongoing basis?

        • hmmm can't say I do actually. I use a mac for work and windows for personal use but usually only have one on at any given time so the chip isn't trying to maintain multiple connections.

    • The Logi g915 looks so nice. Bit pricy though.

  • Bear in mind that the shift keys under numbers is not luminated. Annoying for dark rooms.

    • Oh yeah. I see what you mean.

  • I have the green, while the keys feel excellent, it's really noisy, and not suitable for work as I need to type a bit while on Zoom, which gets annoying for others.

  • Thanks, going to bite the bullet on the Yellow switches.
Been waiting for local stock in stores so I can have a feel of them, but no luck.

  • I purchased the orange switch version back during this deal. It replaced a Kogan mechanical keyboard that was too loud for my liking.

    This was worth the purchase.

A nice feature I like, having the sound running through the keyboard and being able to control volume via the keyboard dial, extremely handy.

  • Try a mechanical keyboard before you buy one. You may or may not like it. I got a G613 and I was like why did I buy it. The g915 maybe a different story.

  • I use one of these and I picked up another for, what was at the time, or so I thought, a good deal at 24% off at Razer store ($227.96 delivered). That was on the 16th of November.

Looks like I was ripped off even though most suppliers had it for a lot more every time I checked it out (the original purchase was even higher than the latest one).

I like to have spares of equipment that I use when I can, within reason.

I didn't think about looking here for it, lesson learned :(

  • Green Switch has dropped to $126.62, but on back order (In Stock on March 10, 2021).
