Cheap crap and takes ages to dry when you apply it. Stays sticky for ages. No thanks.

    • +2

Quick drying isn't necessarily a good thing, you need to meet certain contact times for a hand gel to actually be effective.

    • I've got a heap of these and they're absolutely fine. Unless you're a snowflake ❄

      • +2

I got 2 recently for $2/each. They're fine. Not the best I've used but does the job, not as bad as people make it out to be.

        At $1 it's a steal.

Sounds like it would be good for massage?

      • +1

Isn't a massage meant to be a little dirty?

Scotts is great, $2 for 1L (which is the same price per L as this deal): https://www.bunnings.com.au/scotts-1l-hand-sanitiser_p018894…

Just like people shit talking the Stanley screwdriver case I don't get this fuss over the smell. Smells like normal alcoholy hand sanitizer to me. It's not perfume but it's nothing unpleasant either.

    • Reminds me of my uni days and vodka.

    • Why are people shit talking the stanley case?

  • +6

remember when hand sanitiser was pushing $10 for a small bottle during the height of the pandemic panic buying last year?
    …good times

    • +1

Stock up now for next pandemic. Maybe mers-22.

      • mers-22.

        Will never be called MERS…

    • +2

Yeah, I carry a small bottle of it in my car always and it was super annoying having to pay $12 for a new bottle at some boutique chemist as everywhere else had sold out from panic buyers.

The MSDS for this product listed alcohol content as “>50%(weight). My understanding is that 60% to 80% is recommended for protection from Covid-19

    • Thanks, I won't bother

    • +1

I think the latter about COVID is typically quoted by volume, not weight.
50% weight roughly is 60% volume.
That's still a bit under but if 50% is like the worst case variation during manufacturing it'll be usually close enough.

Methylated spirits is still THE OzBargain drink!

Just mix it with cordial and you’re good to go! 👌

      • +6

Just in case any 13 year olds reading are as stupid as I was at that age, this is just a joke, meth spirits can cause damage to the optic nerve and may cause permanent blindness

        • +2

Shhhh, let Darwin do its job.

        • It only causes damage because Darwin Award Nominees are not smart enough to dilute it properly! It is just massive alcohol content that causes this, no different than drinking 2L of vodka straight and then blaming the alcohol industry for dying.

If you mix 50mL of methos with 1L of orange juice, you basically have an orange alcohol drink with only 4.8% alcohol content (implying 100% alcohol content in methos, as it states it has a minimum of 95% alcohol content). Basically just a strong beer or a vodka cruiser.

          Source: just trust me bro

        • There's no methanol in methylated spirits anymore sold in Australia. It only contains ethanol and obviously a bittering agent to make it undrinkable.

  • Need at least 75% to kill the covid.

  • Are these the same Bunnings keep on their entrance? If yes then they are sticky and smells a bit weird, but hey it's for a dollar just use in emergency!

  • NICE DEAL!

  • I paid $6.95 for this on Monday. $1 would be great…

  • How is this better than actual soap? Too lazy to dry hands? I see this everywhere now for what? Soap is better.

    • +1

It's not really different. It's just that if you do certain types of jobs, etc it's a lot more convenient than soap+water.
