Double Wall Stainless Steel Vacuum Flask $2 (Was $8) in-Store Only @ Woolworths (Back 2 School)

810

Great deal according to me.

Got 6 for 12 @$2each normally $8 each

They have different colours green grey pink mainly.

They are 500mL bottles haven't tested them yet though but they seem to be good If they retail for 8 bucks may be worth it for you.

Was definitely for me its double wall vacuum flask

May be out of stock or in stock @ your local Woolworths

I bought from this from metropolitan Adelaide.

Good lord, you've gone to town on that receipt!

    • +12

Not sure what is so sensitive on a Woolies receipt, but the store phone number is still visible. Google even tells me which store it was purchased at. Don't tell OP!

      • +6

And it has the time of the transaction, so the Woolworths private security team could look up on the cameras who bought a flask at that time.

      • +1

You missed this. Revised to reveal MORE of the receipt, not less. :) https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/229346/86759/20210207_…

      • +3

They bought a pack of coconut water. What a pervert!

      • Would avoid disclosing of store next time.
The whole store was pretty much ripped out of most of the b2s stuff. They had plenty when i bought from them.

Someone must hoarded them all or may be just ozbargain power

    • Made of Plastic, or what?

    • he went all bukakke on that receipt in ms paint

It looks damaged and distorted. Might explain the low price.

    • +2

Can confirm that the ones i bought at least, they are not damaged or broken or something.
      Mine are perfect as new

Incorrect title, Thermos is a brand not a generic term for a hot/cold flask

    • +7

Most people just call any thermal insulating bottle a thermos i think, but sorry if incorrect will change it

    • +10

Wikipedia says it is okay to use it generically

The word thermos is a genericized trademark used sometimes, since the early 20th century, as a term for any vacuum-insulated flask regardless of manufacturer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermos_LLC#Thermos_as_a_trade…

If you want to cry about it, go buy some Woolworth's homebrand Kleenex to wipe your eyes.

      • CBC Radio's "Under the Influence" [of Marketing] has addressed the issue of brand names pivoting to generic names.

(All episodes are on-line, but don't ask me which one(s) cover it.)

I see what you did there 😂

Thermos is a brand not a generic term for a hot/cold flask

At least he did not call it a Hoover Flask. I'll get you a Kleenex.

Do you really want to cheap out with containers of hot liquids or liquids in general? When most of us have iPads and other important things in our backpacks.

    • +2

Guess I'm the only one that's been burned many times by cheap containers. All the best to you all.

      • yeah, this is screw on cap so if you manage to damage your ipad with it then there's something seriously wrong about the way you screw it (or yourself).

        • +5

I've been told I'm not good at screwing, will give this one a miss thanks.

    • No one gets criticised when they post deals for VOSS water.

  • +1

So these are reduced from $8.
What's the minimum price to receive an itsross seal guarantee?

    • +1

Good luck. It's not like I negged the deal. Just been burned by cheap containers. And this is as cheap as they get. Generic Woolworths brand has a good reputation I'm sure.

      • +1

        Thanks for the wishes.
Can you answer how much you pay for an insulated water bottle?
I'm not trying to defend Woolworths branded bottles. Just genuinely intrigued about at what price quality starts.

        • The Gucci or Dior water bottles are probably safe and might work so much better for itsross

      • +9

Just been burned by cheap containers.

Even when filling them with cold beverages?

      • -1

the price is not because theyre cheap. its cause its clearance

price is hardly ever representative of quality

  • +5

Wow, so much negativity here in the comments. This is a good price for what it is.

Does anyone genuinely think the $5 ones from Aldi were better?

    • We do not know if Aldi's were rebadged S'well bottles which are reputable and sell for $30+

  • +1

Great deal OP. Thanks for posting

  • -3

You'll find you can't actually clean these in the dishwasher, nor are they easy to clean by hand, given the narrow neck.

I'd rather spend ~$20 on a Thermos branded drink bottle (I have a few for our family), which are well built, and can be cleaned properly by hand or in the dishwasher.

There's special brushes that you can buy for these kind of bottles.

Look at your local stores or online.
      Those brushes are pretty handy.

Although you can simply wash these with soapy water as long as you are only using it for water.

If you use it for like tea or coffee or some other beverages, or alcohol obviously you'll need brush for getting rid of that smell from last beverages.

But this problem is with every narrow neck flask bottle not just this particular one

      • Also use denture cleaner tablets. 7c each

    • Baby milk bottle brush for ~$7 is your friend

  • Spent at least 3 minutes wondering what kind of wall insulation was on offer here and if I could use it at a rental property

  • +1

these things should last a lifetime if not lost. And everybody I know already seems to have two. How are they still selling that well?

    • my kids break them and bang them up and need to clean them. so having spares is ideal

  • Meh, I'd recommend the Camelbak water bottle that is on sale at Woolies at the moment. They don't often go on sale so it's a good deal. These are good quality bottle. Expensive , but you pay for what you get, unlike this

  • +1

I bought one of these when they were on sale for $4. They're really not that bad. There's definitely a few things that give away they're cheaper (mainly the lid and seal), but they do a good job of keeping drinks cold for a few hours. At $2 I would definitely pick up a few more, especially when you consider Kmart and Officeworks ones cost at least $6 - $7 and would be of similar quality.

  • I know what you did last Summer, OP!

  • Couldn’t find any at my local woolies

  • None at Woolworths Dogswamp (WA). All they had was the Decor double wall flasks for 50% off at $10.

    • +1

Woah, what a name for a suburb!

  • +3

How much was the liquid paper?

  • +1

OP - URGENT!!! The coconut water order is visible in the receipt. Time to delete the uploaded image, burn the receipt and lay low for a few months. One could never be too careful.
