    • assuming they dont sell out before they get back to you

      • I really don't think that many people would be lining up in this weather. So one can probably assume a lot more people would be logging in online, and crashing the site like last year ><

Are you going to line up today? :O

        • -1

not really, I was after external hdd's and a laptop last year, my online order ended up being refunded as I didnt like the alternative, but i'll definately help crash the servers lol

        • the line is building up, its happenning and the weather is good

  • BTW, for those who want an i5 for the Acer, but don't want to pay $300 extra for the SSD as well:

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XC8425/acer-13-3-quot-aspire…

Also good for those who may miss out on the MLN deal when they sell out.

    • We are selling the proper SSD verson for $999 after cashback, our deal is much much better than this, You do not want this machine with an i5 processor and mechanical hard drive.
curently its $1499 after cashback on our site, it will $999 after cashback in about 12 minutes time.

    • Please send your queries to our facebook page, www.facebook.com/MLNaustralia

The FB page will give you up to date info on the sale and stock

  • Most excellent. Site responding at normal speed until midnight.
    Happy shopping all.

    Update: was responding at midnight.
One min later the site was Ozbargained :-(

    • most customers are actually not ozbargainers.

      • It's funny how when something happens its blamed on being ozbargained. The world is not that small.

  • Nice, much less drama than I thought it would be, thanks MLN! :)

  • Just came back from MLN Richmond. Was 3rd in line =D

Got the Acer S3 i5 for $1098 before cashback as well as a 16GB Xbox USB.

  • Not too busy at the Heidelberg store. The staff were friendly and gave me a good deal on a laptop that wasn't even on sale, so I'm pleased.

Most people were buying headphones, from what I could tell. A couple buying the Acer S3s.

  • just type boxing day into the search field, click enter and all the specials are there, I just saw the G53 go up

  • just vouching for MLN, bought 3 laptops from them over the years and they are awesome! also have a comment/query on the acer ultrabooks, what's with the 3 cell battery? what sort of battery life do they get? seems like at tiny battery for a ultrabook.

  • lol, jb hifi are having an 'online only factory scoop' for the 5xb headset @ $49+$9 - http://www.jbhifi.com.au/portable/mp3-players/head-phones/st… almost gone as well!

  • Just saw lots of new notebooks go up, type in " boxing day " into the search bar to reveal.

  • $9 delivery kills the USB deals I wanted :(
Ah well, good prices if you're in store.
Open a shop in the South East suburbs of Melbourne!

it only really works out if you order more than 1 product, remember its still $9 up to 3 products,

      For example:
      ◦1 accessory: $9
      ◦2 accessories: $9
      ◦3 accessories: $9
      ◦4 accessories: $18
      ◦5 accessories: $18
      ◦6 accessories: $18
      ◦7 accessories: $27

Our company philosophy is to provide the best value, not the dirtiest lowest price.

      • Yeah I know. I just wanted the one USB though, and $9 seems quite expensive for postage.
For the record, I didn't neg you. I understand!

        • thanks Adamiam, every company is different, and we are geared to send lots of items and larger parcels to one customer. Rather than small orders to lots of customers, If we provided cheap shipping on single items, its harder to provide cheap shipping on lots of products ordered at once. Clearly the people who negged me don't understand the basics of business here. We are only interested in providing the best value at all times, and more bang for your buck

  • I'm looking for a laptop 2nd Gen i7, 8GB RAM min, expandable to 16GB. (RAM and cpu is important to me as I want to host VMs).
I'm not to fussy re: graphics etc, but prefer 15" if possible. Do you have anyhting that would beat the Lenovo IdeaPad Y560P-4397M2M @ MSY for 699 after cashback?

    http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/notebook.pdf

I'm after a laptop with those specs and will be in today if you can provide one for a better price. Although I have bought machines from you in the past, if you can't beat it unfortunately I'll need to go with MSY. Thanks! Kudos to reps monitoring site too.

Just bought this from centrecom $599 after cashback.

      • you should have paid $549, we sold out at $549 after cashback about a month ago, this model is very old the Lenovo IdeaPad Y560p (4397-M2M)is long discontinued.

    • this is very old, sold out a long time ago, the other stores are selling the left over stock
You should be paying about 10% less for this discontinued Y560p

      • As I said above, MLN rep, please explain this:

        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/54200

When did you ever sell for $549 after cashback?

In your comments above, you said it was in May 2011. Then how come you were selling the same laptop for $698 after cashback in October 2011?

Have you mistaken your own deal for $698 before cashback, when that was actually the price AFTER cashback?

        • in our last sale we cleared all of our existing stock in late october for $549 after cashback, it was not very popular, it originally started at $1699 and every 2-3 weeks just kept dropping in price, not all of our deals make it to ozbargain and ozbargain is not the only place to come across cheap computers, and we dont actively promote on here either. If you don't want to miss out try our deal alerts, www.mln.com.au/dealalerts.
This model was a current model in Q2 this 2011, ending June 2011, all of the stock that is floating around was made in March - April - May this year, some even Feb. The people who bought them can verify with the manufacturing date in their machine underneath. There was a fault with the first Gen versions and this killed the 2nd batch sales as people assumed it had not been rectified. The price kept being slaughtered on this model. We just sold out about 2 months ago and cleared out of our remaining stock, which was not that many, only about 130 units for $549 after cashback, but I remember another company in Sydney doing it for $499.

        • is there a new model to replace this old one with similar price?
hmmm…can anyone able to digg that sydney for 499, i really want one at that price!

        • Lenovo did not bring the new model in yet because the old model was a fiasco

They are not cheapest. The notebook Asus U31F in dick simth is only $561 until 27th lower than MLN $579. I bought that one in MLN in midnight, and later found the price in dick simth. Very disappointed about MLN.

    • +2

Things are always getting cheaper though. Especially with competition all the time. You can't blame MLN for offering a cheap price (that you thought was good enough to line up and purchase at midnight) and then have Dicksmith come along and beat it.

      • I think I saw the same u31f today in QLD for $499 today, depending on how much stock everyone has anyone can sell at a loss, any price below $650 is below cost anyway. It depends how desperate you are. Dick Smiths is in bad shape and has a lot of inventory they are stuck with and will be gutting everything over the next few days, not because they have great deals but simply because they have ageing Inventory and they have to dump it. Take advantage of it while you can, the big retailers are doing really badly

  • when are the orders getting posted? I ordered a pair of the 5xb's

    • No status update what so ever. Not happy with MLN.
