    • So in store only? I'm from Sydney. So annoying.

      • With just 15 items on the sale list, I doubt they have sufficient quantity to last the full 24hrs.

        • We have heaps of stock still available, nothing has sold out, and many many more products are also avaialble in store that are not listed online.

    • Although there's no mention of this sale being available online on their FB page, I gather from StewBalls' post below that their last Boxing Day sale was also available online (but in-store customers given priority) and that they do carry lots of stock. Don't think I fancy queuing outside their store in the middle of the night on Christmas though.

  • The g74 sx seems to be a good deal, wonder if I can nego for further discount?

    • Just don't say this to the sales guy "The g74 sx seems to be a good deal, wonder if I can nego for further discount?"

      • Of course I would't do that =P. To be honest I am more keen for the G53, but it's not on the flyer. =\

        • watch the facebook page for more specials, the G53 may just pop up

  • XBOX usb drive 16 gb is very cheap

    • +1

Can't we just use normal usb for that? Or only xbox usb work as per the hard drive?

      • I read somewhere that normal USB works as well

      • Depends on the speed. Needs to be a specific speed to read games of it, but they should work for save games etc, just not for installing a game on it)

The last boxing day sale was a hell of a kerfuffle on OzB, http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/36766 - I wonder if this one will be as entertaining? ;)

  • +7

I'm not a true OzBargainer. Found this photo from last year's sale:

    • about the same people when Fluidtek was on sale during Dec last year

      • Eddie had a sausage sizzle though! :)

        • Yeah, haha. I'm hoping that Fluidtek can surpass MLN during the boxing day sales, for all us Sydneysiders.

        • Fluidtek is too busy with logitechshop.com.au to worry about having a Boxing Day sale.

        • I don't think we will have any Fluidtek sale this year. Eddie is probably overseas spending his money right now.

    • That is a pretty crazy line. My psychotic side felt compelled to drive at full speed into that adjoining side street, where the line of humanity was encroaching beyond. That would effectively eliminate about half the waiting time.

      • mass murder suspect right here!

  • +1

    Hopefully that isnt all…:(

    • There will be more products follow the Facebook page through out the 24 hour period also the boxing day link on our website will display all the current specials and deals

  • The way prices have been lately it would have been great to have seen some internal HDD's on there, considering I paid $139 for a 1TB Barracuda that was manufactured well before the floods (local computer shop, not MLN). If there were some on there I'd just order from the site and hope to get it, I wouldn't bother lining up all day! Still some good prices on the flyer though, I'll probably have a dig around their website on Boxing Day and see what I find,

  • +1

I'm looking forward to possibly getting an xbox.

  • -5

not too much of a discount, i bet these prices can be beaten

    • +1

      Links please !

  • What are the read/write speeds of the xbox usb flash drive? Is there anything different about them apart from being Xbox branded?

    • Yeah…it sells to fan boys for 200% markup?

    • yes they are faster drives

  • +1

If you guys go into the store make sure they charge you the CORRECT price. Double check your reciept.

    • Yeah they over charged me but were good about it and gave my money back. I remember looking up a model while in store and the web price changed 5 minutes after i bought it. Still printing from my lexmark should have bought a Laser printer much cheaper on refills.

  • +2

Perhaps it's worth mentioning that in their last Boxing Day sale, the prices of some unsold sale items were repeatedly reduced in the closing hours - a bit like those yellow sticky on Supermarket perishables. Hence, if you turn up late in their store it may be a good idea to check their latest web prices before paying.

    • Or you may only find crumbs left-over.

      • I guess in the final hours they thrashed prices on things ppl didnt want to get rid of it.

  • Sale ends midnight on Boxing Day?
    It's all a big trick ;)

Where is the mln rep? seems to be MIA from ozbargains. Actually, ever since the last boxing day sale, there wasnt anything that memorable of a bargain.

Rep is still around. Don't believe they use ozbargain as part of their marketing strategy anymore in a formal sense due to negative (perhaps unfairly?) comments posted.

      • +1

I can vouch for these guys as a good company with one of the best reps around. Their laptop deals stand on their own. hope they become more actively engaged with OzB again in the future.

        • Garratt, the guys are right, we have had some ripper bargains, just means you have been missing out on them.
www.mln.com.au/dealalerts is the best place to sign up for them
and if you "like" MLN facebook is a good place too if you want to converse and see whats going on. I am one of the Admin's on the facebook page also.

  • No Asus Zenbook. I'm after a deal on the i7 top spec.. Ah well wait for more sales to appear

  • I almost negged you for saying… This is the first time I wished I was from Melbourne. ;-)

    Good deal mate

  • +3

Guys it' will be available online and in store as well. Exactly like last year, there will be more products than what is listed and the Facebook page will be the best place to follow the additional specials

    • how much is shipping on that xbox?

      • -1

I'd also like to know how much shipping would be on the 16G xbox memory stick?

        • +1

the accessories will be $9 for any three accessories, so its $9 for one small item, $9 for two, $9 for three, the $18 for 4 items, $18 for 5 items, $18 for 6 items , $27 for 7 items, etc.

        • +1

Limit 1 per customer with $9 shipping = no bargain.

    • +3

Whilst some people have raised concerns about MLN I wish to say that I have purchased 3 laptops off them during 2011 for myself and both sets of parents and I could not be happier.

Sales = excellent (sought guidance on config for parents laptop via email and phone).
      Delivery = within 3 days.
      Products = as advertised.
After sales = excellent (I needed to follow up re: Win7 questions, not a product issue).
Referral to others = I have shared my experience with my office of 90+ peeps and I know others have made purchases and not one complaint.

I just wanted to balance any negative criticism that is coming MLN's way as it has not been my experience.

      Cheers.

    • would like to know shipping for laptop too

    • can you pick up from online orders?

  • i got my ASUS UL30V from these guys. 1.5yrs old. still working well!! once this breaks, i'll get the ASUS ultrabook from them again.

  • Sorry noob question, is Toshiba T110-3G much better than Toshiba NB550D?

    • +2

Yeah T110 is more powerful than a Netbook which is nb550d

      • The T110 is a great machine at this price, not to be comparred with a netbook.

  • Re xbox memOry stick, pretty good price for the "official" stick. I got a 4gb Xbox from the HN sale, and bought a sandisk cruzer blade 16gb on ebay which works 100% with the xbox at the supported speed rating, was about $16 delivered. The "xbox memory stick" is made by sandisk too. Personally i dont need any more than 20gb storage, still have my original launch xbox with 20gb and that still has 5gb free after all these years - but i dont dl many games from xbl. You can also buy two 16gb sticks and use them simultaneously on your xbox, but apparently you cant use any single usb drive greater than 16gb iykwim.

  • slknv, excellent observation, this is that stick in 8GB and 16GB so its really good value and your comments are all 100%

You know why they call it an Xbox 360? Becuase when you walk up to it you do a 360 and walk away

    • +22

theworks, um if you did a 360 in front of it, you would be facing it again.
      :)

You know why they call it an Xbox 360? Becuase when you walk up to it you do a 360 and walk away

Whoever made up this comment or joke is quite obviously geometrically challenged.

    • does no one use the internet for jokes anymore…this is so old that even Abraham Lincoln used it for his stand up comedy show

  • Hehe cant wait i remember last year. I asked for a price on a bag the sales rep asked me what I thought it was worth and how much I'd like to pay, i looked at the bag and said $15 he said deal I ended up buying a whole bunch of other stuff. I'm inclined to get the Xbox that's a very good price. Keep up the good work guys!!

  • Nice prices! Getting a little bit excited about the post xmas sales :D

  • can the rep please confirm how much is shipping on the xbox 360 to sydney? :)

    • +1

postage I beleive is $19 flat Australia wide. Postage information is available on our site
      https://www.mln.com.au/info_page/?id=shippinginfo
information will be live on our facebook page through out the 24 hour sale.

      • thanks rep

      • Would audio products be counted as an Accessory? Specifically, headphones.

  • Anyone know if the Seinheisser HD202 will work for the PS3? I'm on the market for a pair decent headphones/headsets and well, this looks alright. Nothing special needed - just for MW3/BF3 gaming on the PS3.

Nearly impulively bought the Turtle Beach PX5 for $250 last night. Chills Nearly forgot about my OzBargain roots.

    • almost went over to the darkside…

      • I would of woken up this morning and kicked my own ass. Not sure how, but I'd find a way.

        • can u post it on youtube?

  • Cant wait!

  • Nothing on facebook yet, any confirmation on the G53?

    • G53 will happen just saw an internal memo on it

      • +1

I could be wrong, but I think it's a Europa Universalis III reference dude! ;)

  • fair dinkum mate.

  • Praying and hoping they drop the price of the ASUS N73SV-V2G. Been waiting specifically for Boxing Day for that one. :P

    • Not sure about the n73, with the hard drive shortage machines with big storage are hard to come by and in the new year will be about 10-20% more expensive for the same specs. First time in computing history prices are going up. Jan feb 2012 price list is much higher

  • Any idea if Microsoft changed the hardware in its xbox line to stop that new USB mod?

  • I'm deciding between the Lenovo Y560P from Centrecom and the Asus U31F from MLN. Does anyone have any opinion which is obviously a better choice?

I do understand Asus = portability but i5 and Lenovo = bulky but i7.

Just wanted to get some opinions.

    Thanks heaps.

Posted this comment in the Centrecom End of year clearance sale page too. Apologies for that.

    • The best notebook choice I believe are the two ACER S3s ultra books at this price are a bargain, even I will be getting the i5 one.

      • Thanks mate. Might have a look at the Acer with Core i3. The i5 is way out of my budget….

      • Yeah I'm deciding between the two…Acer S3-078 $699 +shipping vs Lenovo Y560P $599 delivered? which 1 will be value for money?
How is the quality build on this Acer?

        • +2

Depends on what you need in a laptop: specs or portability?

I bought the Lenovo Y560P for my dad, and it is quite a heavy laptop (nearly 3kg) and the charger is MASSIVE (120W charger). Battery life is also very low (around 2.5 hours from normal use.) However, the computer is blazingly fast, with really powerful speakers for a laptop.

The Acer S3 is an i3 dual core (much much weaker compared to the i7 in the Lenovo). You are looking at reduced hard drive space (320 compared to 750) and also a smaller screen (13.3 compared to 15.6). The positive would be you would expect battery life to be better, since it is an i3 with no dedicated graphics with a smaller screen. It is also way lighter, around 1.4kg heavy.

So ultimately, you have to consider what you will be using it for. If it's going to sit on your desk plugged in most of the time, the Lenovo Y560P is great value for its specs. If you need to carry it around a lot, and you don't use graphics intensive programs/games, and don't require a large screen with decent speakers, the portability of the Acer would be preferable, as well as its battery life.

        • the Y560p is only worth this price, we sold out a long time ago, its an old model and our price was $549 after cashback before we sold out, so you should get it for less.

        • @MLN, are you sure this is the updated Y560P though?

The one with the 2nd gen i7 and also the 750GB hard drive?

        • the exact same Y560p Lenovo IdeaPad Y560p (4397-M2M,
this is from May 2011, we no longer have it in stock becuase it is so old.

        • rep, do you have any laptop similar spec/price to Y560
my budget is under $600 and it can handle HD video
reading feedback and the praise customer service, now i want to be your customer :)

        • @MLN rep, doesn't really look like you got your prices right.

If it was $549 after cashback for it in May 2011, why would you have it for $698 after cashback in October 2011 and post it as a bargain on OzBargain?

          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/54200

I am not denying it as an older model, but I do not believe you had that laptop for $549 after cashback.

        • Thanks kirynflare for the review :o)

  • With this weather in Melbourne, I think I'll be first in queue! Jokes, I'll be buying online. Don't want to be hammered on by massive hail.
