forgot the most important thing, cap or resistive screen?

also i was about to neg you you should have also said
    " nVIDIA Tegra™ 2 T250 (1GHz, 333MHZ FSB, 1MB L2 Cache)"
    which is a dual core.

    apparantly also has HDMI!

the specs you've provided are a neg, the other that this tab has that you should have are a +
at least you've listed the RAM!
in future have a look over them and provide the important ones… not the marketing hype! (specially if its the rep negging)

also if your going to neg my comment thats fine, but please provide a reason?

Wisc thanks for your comments, listing is now update.

      • +1

cool, cap or resistive screen? if its a cap, thats a decent tab…

    • +1

Why are people negging this comment? I must admit, I do get confused as to why comments are negged as there often seems to be no rhyme or reason other than personal taste.

      • +5

Probably because of the 'tone' of the comment. Sure, ask additional questions but to threaten with negs is going a bit too far. Ultimately as a community we should encourage new posts. If users become overly critical and potentially nasty in their comments I can foresee that some users will not even bother posting and just keep bargains too themselves.

        • Thank-you. I'm glad I'm not the only one here with the same mentality.

        • -1

What the OP originally had up there was pretty generic… seemed a bit pricey for just another tab, hence the comment for “almost negged was valid:” when in fact the specs on this one seem pretty decent for 350

I believe the idea is for the OP to post as much helpful info as possible to assist with the deal getting “ozbargained”

I wasn’t overly negative if you read it as factual… that’s the problem with this world, people are always looking for the negative. Unless your ultra-polite, you’re going to offend someone… I just tell it how it is.
Stop being so damned thin skinned people!

Yeah, anyways thanks for taking the time to explain why.. as you can see the comments has + and - so i guess it depends how you read it.

      • +2

        Hmm….

i think to threaten negs for lack of "important features" is a little harsh considering what OO sells i.e. a bunch of stuff…feels a bit like getting pissed at the guy who works at OW for not knowing EVERY feature that's 'really important' for every item in the store.

plus, there's a ton of posts for the "xoom" that dont have anything that that's being asked for here (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/xoom).

So to get a little frustrated by lack of info is just a little inconsistent - esp when they've already posted MORE than what other posts have gone up with…

at the end of the day, it just makes it harder for people to know what's actually expected of them when they post

        • -1

hmm i tent to agree, hence the + however, the "threaten" - (which it wasn't) was for reading the OP and thinking it was just another generic tab at that price.
if thats all you had to go on, it didnt look that great a deal.

letting the OP know to add additional info to seperate it from the rest.

side note: the xoom has the advantage of being a well known tab.

    • +1

Really, it goes without saying that Tegra 2 is dual core and phones (and tablets) from more than 3 years used resistive.
I'm glad you didn't neg the rep.

      • -1

that info wasnt there when i origionally posted.

just looked like a generic tab basically. thats what i was saying, for that price, a generic tab…?

if that was the stats it deserved a neg, but they weren't.

        • Ah ok, well, I guess I saw the updated version of the deal.

    tee hee

    • That is one full-featured tablet.

Toshi housing feels really cheap, spend $50 more and get 3G+16GB more memory. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/60983

  • +3

    LOL at "Compatible with YouTube".

For the same price I think the Xoom 32 GB WiFi is much better than this.

    • -3

really? does the XOOM have the GTX 560M by any chance.

Full HDMI, USB, miniUSB and SD card slot sets this tablet apart from the competition

      • +1

Xoom doesn't have GTX 560M and neither Toshiba has this.

        http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc-mac/tablets/toshiba-at10…

Xoom has 32GB in built memory, micro SD slot and has a dual Flash. But most of all the Xoom looks 10 X better than the Toshiba. And whats more important is that I bought my Xoom $50 bucks cheaper than this tablet. Furthermore the Xoom has more of an online community than the Toshiba tablet.

  • Nice side by side comparison with the A500 (Iconia)

I understand this product has wi-fi, but is it 3G comparable? I would like to use our own Internet away fri

    A:YES

Answered on 28/12/2011 by TW from ROSEBERY

?? no other mention of 3g anywhere else

    • Interesting has GPS but no 3g as per the specs

      http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/computers/tablet/at100/…

    • To be fair - what is 'comparable'? Compatible makes more sense.

    • +2

LOL. They let random people answer questions. See the text "Know the answer? Answer this question"

Some random dude just said "YES".

Someone should ask the question if the tablet can be used as an induction stove top. I guarantee someone would say "YES".

      • That's good I wanted to cook some fries with it.

      • get answers from real customers and in-house experts

The 'customer care' label gave it a little, (but not much), plausibilty…..

It's perhaps something the rep (and the company) should review, as it may lead to claims of misrepresentation

        • We appreciate your comments. Reviewed specs and it seems that this table isn't 3G.

        • +1

Its actually not that hard to read the specs, and to proof a comment as per the yes to the 3g one, how did that comment not get moderated?

Now how about you do the right thing and remove the answer to the question on your listing that says Yes to the 3g question. Which is clearly incorrect

      • +1

Must have been 3-5 business days ago, that they knew the answer, i smell a rep answered it trying to pass it off as 3g

Below is what i got after answering same question

Thank you for submitting your answer.

We will process your answer. Accepted answers will be posted within 3-5 business days.

        • hmmm….. so presumably the answers are reviewed…..

Rep definitely needs to clarify this point

Miss leading, this tablet does not have Imaging: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M (3D Vision) 1.5GB GDDR5

      I miss leading, too.

so Do I…I miss leading a lot

Toshiba have shown great contempt in how they treated their customers, when it came to AT100 'Australian' support. Japanese & US owners were looked after ok…

As a former owner of the device, I'd recommend staying away from it. Buy an Asus, Acer or Moto of the same and be happy.

The unit is in no way aesthetically pleasing. The backing is rubber plastic and bends. It took me three units to find one without dead pixels, or USB issue. The support meant that I had to drop off the unit at the Toshiba centre to have the software updated, while everyone else, including US Toshiba owners received over the air updates.

If you must buy a Toshiba, then wait for the AT200.

The AT100 is to be replaced with the AT200 model which looks like a great tablet being quad core and very thin. We can expect there will be some lower pricing for the current stock of AT100.
