I bought a carton of the Cloudy today to test it out.
I was hoping it'd be, you know, more apple-y and thicker than Crisp. The Crisp is very watery, like Mercury & Strongbow. On the appearance of it, the Cloudy is… not cloudy. It looks very light and watery. I haven't tasted it yet, but will later today and report back.
I much prefer cloudy…and don't actually like the crisp that much…
cases of cloudy for $40 are pretty good way to stock the fridge

Anyone recommend a low carb cider aside from Strongbow Clear? I enjoy it but nice to have an alternative.

Lower flavour in the sense it's got less sugar and it's less sweet. It's no Strongbow Sweet, but it's better than Dry and completely swappable with Original. I don't pretend to be an expert in all things cider, but I do prefer cider with less sugar in it.
Strongbow clear has 8.9g of sugar per bottle where as Strongbow Original and Tooheys Extra Dry 5 Seeds has ~16.7g. In a six pack that's 53.4g vs ~100.2g of sugar.
Wouldn't say halving your sugar consumption is entirely mute.. but each to their own :)

perhaps Im looking at the wrong stats but don't the majority of calories in alcoholic drinks come from the alcohol rather than the carbs?

If you're having Strongbow Clear, you're getting the majority of Calories from alcohol (65%).
If you're having Strongbow Original/5 seeds, you're getting almost 50% of your Calories from alcohol and 50% of your Calories from sugar.
I'm personally more concerned about sugar content than Calories, though.

Good price but the original Five Seeds would have to be the crappiest 'Cider' I have ever tried, give me a real Cider over it anyday (even at this price)!! Strongbow Clear is better IMO but I'd prefer a normal or dry one.
Whilst they try to market Ciders as a summer drink to me it's more of a winter drink, I prefer beer moreso in summer…dunno how others are??

Has anyone actually printed this thing out? it looks huge and its so black I think it would kill my black ink printer cartage :(
hah yeah I printed it and it did take up most of the page… if you have a smart phone just view the bar code on scren and they can scan that.
Print it whatever size you want. Using Windows picture viewer, just select print, untick "fit picture to frame", then change it from full page to 4'Up, it ends up taking up 1/6 of an A4 page, because of the proportions. Small enough so you're not wasting ink, large enough so the text is still legible and the bar code is still scan'able.

I definitely rate this as a bargain… its not often you find alcohol "buy one get one free" and to make it even sweeter the first pack is already on special at almost 20% off ($13 down from $16)
I did a Boozle.com.au search for my suburb and surrounds and BWS has the cheapest price at $13 - not sure why the Dan Murphy deal of $11.90 didnt show up - maybe its not in my area.

Boozle is the shizzle. I never buy a case of beer without consulting it first (usually on my phone from my local 1st Choice Liquor)
While I find 1st Choice are usually the cheapest anyway, a couple of days ago they knocked $8 off a case of Corona to match BWS as they have a best price guarantee.
Although, don't tell them you used boozle to find a cheaper price if you're looking at getting them to price beat. They usually kick up a stink because they say it's out of date. Just say you were in the other shop earlier
Gah! Went to my local Elsternwick (Vic) BWS and they were all sold out of cloudy apple so I could not use the barcode - they said next delivery is Monday.
Yeah they were out of Cloudy for me too but I talked em into giving me two 6 packs of the normal one! :)

Just got mine at BWS Como (Perth). The shelf tag said $16 but it scanned at $13. No problems showing them the voucher via my phone, they had an issue scanning it due to glare but were able to just type in the numbers.
Got mine from BWS Waniassa (ACT). Only had 1 normal clear left (NFI what happens when clear runs out) - they had about 5 x 6 packs of cloudy left
Works at both Nundah stores, Clayfield and Lutwyche.
Why are people quoting dan murphy's? Are you able to price match with BWS or is the voucher somehow valid at DM?
Anyway picked mine up for $13, I like the cloudy more now than the crisp.

some of the people i bought off were really good about it, even aplogising for the scanner not working with mobile phones (and complaining about head office not organising/communicating these deals properly to the stores).
some of them tried their hardest not to give it to me because i didn't have a print out. they said that management had directed them only to accept print outs (even after i showed them the terms and conditions), and that their system did not allow the barcode to be typed in. which is absolute crap: at one store i even went around behind the counted and typed it in myself!
Purchased in a single transaction from Roseville BWS with 2 vouchers. No problems.
BWS Mt Lawley (WA) on special for $13. Also got an Australia Day flag for the car lol
I've got 3 lots so far. Got 2 from the same store, from the same attendant, 2 days in a row.
The 3rd lot i got from a different store, and i stood there for literally over 5 minutes while 3 attendants (incl the boss i think) tried to apply the deal in the register. The barcode scanned from my printout (well it made a beep anyhow), but nothing happened on screen to change the price. They had to try and sort it out after i left.
Haven't tried getting more than 1 from the same store, at the same time. Thought i was lucky enough having it accepted by the same clerk the next day.

If they are having problems scanning, they need to scan one pack then scan the voucher (and give it nominal value of $0.01 - comes up as web voucher) and then scan the second pack.

Just a word of warning for those using phones, scanner would not work on my screen & there was a lot of pissed of alcos waiting for me to buy my drinks, they couldn't enter it manually & had to find an old print out.
