one good girl is worth a thousand b*****s

  • Thanks OP. Cancelled the Amazon one, great value for $5. Kogan have excess stocks at the moment so we might get more deals like this.

    Red goes faster.

Based on the RRP, the Remington High Precision Haircut Kit HC1091AU is the best model (although it's not really clear what else differentiates them)

I'd put HC70A last, because the blades need to be oiled.

HC1091AU RRP $29.95 - Most expensive, but it's not clear why. Has an extra (22mm) guide.
HC2001AU RRP $19.95 - Red, comes with hard plastic storage case
HC70A RRP $19.95 - Needs oiling, has the fewest guides. Probably the worst.

so what you're saying is buy all 3, find out which one you like the best and sell the other two on marketplace for a profit?

  • +8

I bought this in Big W I think for $10. Shaver sucks at cutting and you'll be wondering if it's actually doing anything.

  • +2

    Great value

  • -1

    so cheap

  • Didn't need but ordered.

  • Self sharpening blades! Seriously? :D :))

    • Clippers are self sharpening in the same way scissors are self sharpening.

  • Thanks bought 20 :)

  • Thanks. Don't need it but bought one anyway.

  • -1

Same here, ordered one but don't need

  • If the normal price is $9 is it really worth getting?

    • That's the non members sale price. Normal price is literally right next to the price ($19.95-$29.95)

      • +1

Uh, it's a bit confusing as when it says don't pay, it looks like it is referring to other retailers and not their normal price.

  • +3

$7 on Amazon if you can't be bothered with Catch.

      You mean Kogan

      • True sorry

    • Which of the 3 from Kogan is equivalent to this one from Amazon you think?

      • the Amazon model is HC70A, which looks like the worst model out of the 3.

        • +1

I recon they are all the same. These also say maintenance free, but give you the oil anyway. Reality..sliding metal needs a lubricant. This one gives you some for free. The others will need it if you want them to stay sharp.

          • +1

@tunzafun001: yes, it wouldn't surprise me if the motor and blades were all basically (or exactly) the same.

i just grabbed the most expensive (HC1091AU) since it's not really clear which model is the best.

  • +7

    I'm holding out for $4.

  • +3

Be careful with Kogan. Very shady business practices

  • +1

    cordless would be better.

    • +1

And waterproof for use in shower

      • +1

With solar powered cells for environmental friendliness

        • +1

…and a LCD screen would be good, 4k…

          …with 9.1 channel dolby surround sound …

          And organic āœŒšŸ½

          Thanks.

          • +1

@db2k: Don't forget biodegradable and recyclable.

            And with crossplay.

            Oh and halal.

  • Any good for pets?

    • For $5, I'd say give it a go….

    • +1

No. Pet clippers must need to be a lot more powerful. Tried it on the dog, they just stall instantly.

  • +2

Will these work on my sheep?

Real question, who even has Kogan first?

    • +1

I just got Kogan First 14 days trial for this offer.
Will cancel it before 14 days.

    • The New Zealand bubble is working

    • The koganmoney credit card is pretty good value comes with koganfirst and also can accumulate points to use on Kogan purchases in the future. Also comes with Kogan credit if meeting minimum spend, $300 is the current deal I think.
I churn credit cards for the signup bonuses. My only issue with kogans is that you only get the credit after the minimum spend period, which is still ages away. You are also effectively dealing with Citibank instead of Kogan so the app is quite similar to Citibanks.

  • +2

Lots of Ozbargainers who have the Kogan credit card.

  • Damn i bought the 7 dollar one previously

    • +2

You should be able to cancel if you ordered from Amazon.

  • Ordered two. Don't know why I need two.

    • One for you and one for him

    • +1

one for your head and one for your ass

      • +1

Ppffttt …. any real OZB would use the same one for both…

  • +1

If you cancel the Kogan First trial after ordering do you still retain it for the trial period?

Edit: no it removes your access immediately.

    • I cancelled the membership trial immediately and then tried to remove my credit card from their system but it won't let me. It says I need to cancel my membership, which I have done! So confused, I don't trust them keeping my credit card details active.

  • Thanks OP, ordered one. Don't know why.

  • Ordered and have an auspost tracking, but also received an email from Kogan they cancelled the order.
