wow, so what must i do? pay $150 in parking? lol.

      • +16

Nope, carparking is excluded too. LOL

      also

By claiming, you agree to be added to the Westfield database.

all your info are belong to us

    • Its a more subtle way of saying that the smaller retailers are ripping you off

      • or is it that the small retailers are getting ripped off by centre management…

Insert scene from The Simpsons episode "Itchy & Scratchy Land" where Homer converts $1,100 to "Itchy & Scratchy Money", advertised by the ticket-taker as similar to regular money, but "fun". When the family heads to the merchants within the park, they discover that none of them take Itchy & Scratchy Money.

Yeah, westfield gift cards are so useless with the exclusions it should be fair to file a complaint to consumer affairs.

I mean really, westfield giftcards can't be used at woolworths in a westfields shopping centre!? FFS!

And if you've actually seen how far they push their smaller stores with rent costs, they have no excuse.

      • -1

Why neg? Itis usable in over 1000 stores!

    • .

From T&C page, does this means purchases from JBHiFi is OK?

"Excluded Retailer" means any of the following major retailers: David Jones, Myer, Target, Coles, Woolworths, Safeway, Big W, Kmart, Kmart Auto, Dan Murphys, BWS, Liquor Land, First Choice, Toys R Us, Aldi, Bi-Lo, Office Works, Harvey Norman, Franklins, Bunnings and Woolworths Petrol

    • thats interesting harvey norman is excluded yet JB isn't :D

      • coz Gerry wants to take your money, not be part of a scheme that gives you some back!

  • Awesome, JB Hifi not excluded!

  • +1

dick smith and those zillions of phone shops are not excluded.
i figure its probably a good time to buy one of those low end android phone at around $150 to get the $20 off.

    • +1

$150 wish gift card from dicks, so you can use on groceries and get $20 for free?

    • Dick Smith don't accept westfield gift cards. I asked there when I got the $30 westfield voucher from the recent amex promotion. JB HiFi definitely do accept though.

  • +6

Can i purchase $150 of Westfield giftcard and get $20 for free?

  • maybe some 150 jb hifi giftcard?

  • +1

Smiggle gift cards. 5 X $30 for birthdays.

  • +2

not after you tell everyone what your going to do everyone will do it and they will stop it. Some things are better left unsaid.

  • Awesome! I'm going to try couple this with the Braun cash-back promo which ends on January 31st - last eligible day for both.

    • Actually, card promo goes to 19/2 - while cards are available.

      • The Braun promo requires you to buy any of their "participating products […] on or between 1st November 2011 to 31st January 2012". So I meant today is the last day where it's applicable with the Westfield promo (hopefully!), ahah.

  • +3

I wish I had $150 to spend so I could get an extra $20.

  • Is it, 1 gift card per receipt or 1 gift card per 150 spent?

    • the Qualifying Spend can be made by multiple purchases at multiple Participating Retailers, however, all purchases must be made at one Participating Centre, on one day
Each individual is only permitted to make one (1) gift claim per day
You can combine multiple receipts but only 1 gift card per day.

  • +3

    Nice, was buying a 3DS today anyway. $178 for a 3DS is a steal (198 EB - $20)

  • Similar restrictions on where it can be used as the Stockland cards.
These cards can also be purchased as a gift but with all the restrictions it is about as useful as a feather paperweight.
If ever considering one of these shopping centre cards as a gift you would be better off giving the person the cash?

  • -1

I have to neg this because if you've ever tried to use a westfield gift card, nearly every store worth using it at refuses to accept the card. And I'm not exaggerating. This is inexcusible when westfield owns the shopping complex.

"Excludes major retailer, department store, supermarket, liquor, lotto, prescription medicine, mobile recharge
card, cigarette purchases and car park, bill and layby payments"

    Keywords: Major retailer, Supermarket

    • Westfield Gift Cards can be used in 6,000 stores in Westfield centres across Australia

And yet, I can't even purchase groceries with them.

6000 stores is not the same as 6000 unique stores. Neither can I, cost effectively, travel across australia and access all these stores they are talking about.

PS: If you're shopping at David Jones, you're generally paying too much.

        • Thats not Westfield fault.

Coles/Myer and Woolies choose not to accept it. Why dont you complain to them?

Westfield cant make anyone accept there card. What would you like them to do? Kick them out?

        • Really? Do you not realise they make their tenants sign a lease contract?

Westfield, however, only rule with an iron fist against small retailers that they consider "expendable". Thats why the small guys aren't excluded, yet the big guys are. There isn't a reasonable excuse for double standards like this. If they cant do it, they shouldn't offer the card.

No Sydney Westfield Pitt St Mall? Ew.

Cool JBhifi is included. Now I just need to find what to purchase for $150. Any suggestions?

  • How the flying F does this only have 38 positives and a negative!?!?

It's basically free money, I have gotten $60 from it for doing almost nothing.

I can only think of Scrimshaw's avatar right now…
