Now that Google Photos will end its free unlimited storage on June 1st, 2021, Microsoft OneDrive is cheaper than Google One…

And it is an opportunity to claim in taxes this year.

If someone found a better option for storing photos please let us know in the comments…

Microsoft 365 is a subscription that includes the most collaborative, up-to-date features in one seamless, integrated experience. Microsoft 365 includes the robust Office desktop apps that you're familiar with, like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

You also get extra online storage and cloud-connected features that let you collaborate on files in real-time.

With a subscription, you'll always have the latest features, fixes, and security updates along with ongoing tech support at no extra cost.

You can choose to pay for your subscription on a monthly or yearly basis, and the Microsoft 365 Family plan lets you share your subscription with your family for up to 6 people, and use your apps on multiple PCs, Macs, tablets, and phones.

    • Thanks. Fixed. Cheers.

  • I upgraded my Windows 10 to whatever the latest patch was and the welcome screen presented an offer for 50% off but I only noticed after I had clicked the No Thanks option. I don't know how to present it again.

  • isn't this meant to be an e-version? So no physical item to deliver, right? but still adds a delivery charge of $9.95! :P

Even if it is one of those cards with a scratch off serial code, that should not be $9.95 postage!

    • It is an e-version. It shouldn't add any delivery charge.

That's absurd. I went to try now and for me, it added $11.87.

Anyway, good enough to bring to OfficeWorks and try the 5% off.

      I'll try next week.

      Thanks for pointing that out.

  • How can it be tax deductible? This is for personal use right not business.

    • In my understanding, it is software that helps earn your income.

      ATO says:

You can claim a deduction for some or all of the cost of tools, equipment, assets, or products you use to help earn your income.

But in doubt, talk to your accountant.

      • Only tax deductable to the extent you use it for work.

Eg 20% personal use, 80% business use - can claim 80% of the cost

Problem here is what if you use the OneDrive space to store personal photos and word/excel for work?

        • The answer I believe was given by yourself…

          • @Richard Axe: It was easier in the past, when it was office 365 and came with "free OneDrive".
Now that the marketing has changed, what percentage of the value is business use if someone uploads 1gb of personal photos and uses the office apps for work for 100 hours?

    • Lets be honest here lol. 100 work haha

  • Charging delivery fee (and a locale-dependent one as well) on a digital subscription is bonkers.
