Because BOM doesn’t have a station in my backyard?

what you get at your house might be different 1km away.

These are remote control for the weather right?

  • OP’s name checks out.

Haha, I almost bought one of these the other day until I realised I was basically spending 150 bucks to more accurately convey why I was complaining about the cold.

    • If you turn on your heater and feel cold is it because the room hasn't warmed up enough or because you are sensitive to cold? If the room hasn't warmed up is it because the house is badly insulated? Does it get worse with bigger inside/outside difference? Is one room better than another? There are more questions to ask. So if anyone is planning on trying to do something about insulation, including running the heater at higher temperature (thus having a higher power bill) it helps to have accurate temperature temperature for your house and its surroundings. Same but reverse applies to summer cooling and costs. You could get away with cheaper thermometers but its a bit harder to track the temperature over time with those.

      • Nah, I live in Brisbane, it rarely ever gets cold enough to warrant any kind of minute adjustments that require accurate numbers. I don’t need to know about how many knots the wind is blowing in from a WSW direction. I just need to know that IT F**KN WIMDY

I just like to sook about the cold.

  • Can you fix the app, Lucy? Then I'll consider buying one.

  • I've had one of these for almost 12 months and it's been solid as a rock. The app isn't the best but fine for what I need

  • Nice price! The app is awful, but I have been using the Ecowitt site (mostly) and Weather Underground (sometimes) and they work. One day I'll get around to the Home Assistant integration.

I've been impressed by how well the hardware Just Works.

Yes, I'm looking for a place where I can settle down with my, uh, peculiar habits, and, uh, the women that I frequent with.

        • +1

Well, here's to feeling good all the time

    • Mine keeps disconnecting from weather underground, but I have had no problems with sending data to weathercloud.

  • Missed

  • Don't buy this brand. Junk product that stops working due to being affected by rain. Their customer service will just argue constantly with you about rain affecting it and needing the correct batteries.
