    Less % now

    • +2

      used to be 20% before

      • +4

        yeah and 22% for plus

        • +1

It does not matter what the % number is. When the promotion is sellers invitation, the sellers will likely shift their prices accordingly…

      • That's like 2018 not gonna happen again

  • +7

Wish it was the whole site

    • +29

It's a select group of trash sellers selling trash goods.

      • +6

Perfect. Was literally in the market for rubbish bags :)

    anything good? Iphones?

Interesting the mattress I was watching this morning has now jumped from $179 to $199!!! With the 15/17% off comes out basically same price!!

I am Jack's cold ebay store.

    • @ MeeMaw I'd send a nice email to accc … its against the law to mark goods up and then apply a discount back to the original price.

      • Is it ACCC or lodging a complaint with NSW Fair Trading? I think the ACCC delegates to the state consumer watchdogs for individual cases

  • +24

ah the mythical unicorn of eligible items. come on ebay. just do a sitewide discount already.

  • +9

Another borderline useless ebay promo. Not a single thing in my dozens of watched items it is listed as eligible.

  • +1

They were version kind on what items this applies too… at least you can pick up an iPhone 12 128Gb 'Japan version' for $1157.85
Wonder what the difference is hehe

    • +2

If I am not mistaken, some countries disabled the silent mode of the camera shutter. I know that South Korean version of Samsung mobile phones cannot have the shutter click silenced without any "modification". "Japan version" maybe in the same boat. And worse, with IOS, it maybe really difficult to "mod".

      • One wonders why this is an issue….

        • +1

Meaning you can't use this version of phone(s) to take pictures in an opera or concert such as orchestra without disturbing others. Can't use it in a recording studio when the recording session is on too, which defeats the purpose of very good quality camera phone. Well, these are just a sample of issue for the really small number of group of people.

        • Could be related to issues such as this..
          https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-06-17/spy-cam-sex-crimes-in…

      • +1

Can confirm, Japanese iphones have shutter click regardless of silent mode on or off.
Source - wife's old iphone 8 was japanese model through Dick Smith iirc.

      • +1

        Because upskirting..

    • You can get similar prices at jb with ultimate gift card

  • +1

Seems like one of those eBay invitations only (meaning Jack is here), many stores sellers not eligible.

    • +4

Correct invitation only. Seller cover cost 12% I got invited but refuse to join. Otherwise I must jack up the price.

      • Fair enough. I see the usual 20-22% participants at this party. I blame eBay for the artificial %. Stores have to maintain their margins to stay above water.

  • +2

My conclusion is anything with extra 2% for Plus members always = Rubbish .

  • +9

I know damn well 80% of my watch list is not included but sometimes I like to punish myself by searching the item anyway…

  • is there a mattress recommendation, or an ozb go to for queen size?

I got the Xiaomi Viomi A9 Handheld Vacuum Cleaner, It's a nice vacuum which has the floor roller instead of the multipurpose head of other Xiaomi's. From what I've read this works much better on smooth floors, and also works well on very short carpet, you want normal multi purpose head or carpet head for longer carpet.
The led head lights on the front are the best feature, it picks up any dust on the floor that is hard to see without.

but other xiaomi was about $170, but if you want the floor roller, this could be for you. a negative is the wall mount does not have probes that connect to the vaccuum, you must plug in the vaccuum once mounted

    • +1

@bobvegs They jacked the price on vacuum, same one is available for $209 elsewhere.
      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/294068647783

      • Yeah it was selling for the same price as the V9 the other week. I bought my A9 from Amazon for $200 but I had a $20 voucher and there is the Amazon return policy. So far not returning it, havent' found any problems

  • +12

Why ACCC not investigating this? Surely this is misleading to increase the price to cover the disc and then revert back again once the disc finished.

    • Someone else can correct me but I think online stores not headquartered here are basically above their flimsy purview.

      • +1

where is "here"? vast majority of the sellers that participate in these "selected" deals have local ABNs and warehouses.

    • And now ebay make it hard: if you a buyer you won't able to open a dispute if you receive incorrect, damage or even not receive the stuff you paid for.
You can only open a case to return then get refund, with your own expenses.

      • +1

Buy with Paypal and get free returns. Activate that feature before you buy obviously.

Last year watched few items - waiting for QNAP storage, hard drives, laptops, etc. Waiting all those 20% discounts. At the end one of the retailers drop prices by 20-25% and bought everything from their store. At the same time with all discounts ebay prices were 20-30% higher.
Still can't find any reason to renew ebay+ membership.

    • Ok so the recent 20% AfterPay code stacked with 10% off giftcards ( during the period ) working on most items on Ebay didn't pay for your Plus membership 100 X ?

      lol

And yeap AMZ have never been close to those prices .

  • Looking to build a pc folks should I bother or look elsewhere

    • +8

      yes

    • +3

Just looked at the prices for PC parts - they aren't even trying…

Anyone looking - please beware its likely not a deal even after the discount

      • +1

Saved me a lot of time, thanks

    • they marked the price up just like crazy, beware guys, even after 17% discount, most of the price still more expensive compare to else where.

  • +3

I never renewed eBay plus, I cancelled it however I have all the benefits. All eBay plus codes work for me, and I still receive the $5 monthly voucher code too 🤣

    • +2

      What’s your username?

    • +8

After cancelation, you still have membership benefit till the last day(renew day).

    • I've been a member for almost 2 years. They never gave me that $5 monthly code :(

    • Are you sure they haven't still charged for membership as they have been known to do this despite cancelling.

No breville dual boiler machine in this sale by the looks. Anyone else hunting a deal on it? Wondering what the current best price is as I may just get one.

    • +1

This. Currently hunting a smart grinder pro first..

      • Good luck! I'll reply here if I find a deal on the machine.

    • Same boat. Best I can see is retravision for 998.

      • Yeah me too. Gunna bite at that price? I've tried hunting down discount codes for the site too! No luck!

        • I’m torn, I want it but hard to pull trigger at that price when Ive seen it for $100 cheaper. Probably try get Harvey Norman to get as close to 850 and buy that, except I do like the silver better than black.

  • +5

The mattress is pretty bad unless your already sleeping on the floor. Speaking from experience.

    • +1

thanks for the feedback, I was about to buy one.

    • I've got one. It made me realise that "medium firm" is too soft for me. Beyond that it's fine.

  • why babybunting always not on the list!?

  • Picked up a logitech gpro x superlight off this deal for $181 with the plus voucher. Going for $186 without the voucher, from a seller called ninja.buy. Not the cheapest this mouse has been but I was looking to pick one up anyways and they seem to be going for $219 from retailers.

    • When I bought Logitech MX Master 3 from Ninja Buy, it arrived in a packaging that was not for Australian markets, though Logitech website validated the warranty on it. Just FYI in case it's a topic of concern for you.

My bad as its not clear if you bought from Ninja Buy or another seller.

Discount is advertised to OLED TVs when you're not on eBay Plus but when I check using my account with eBay Plus, the discount code is not eligible.

  • Cheap mattresses are always a false economy.
