  • Oh no.. Just purchased 2 cases from BWS yesterday…

  • +12

500ml cans are better as they are made in Japan these bottles are not

    • Where are these ones made?

      • Australia.

      • +7

The 330ml bottles are made here, they used to be made in China. 500mL cans still made in Japan ($70/case at Dans) and are noticeably better. For $40, this will do the job of a regular lager. The 334mL Asahi black are also made in Japan, but cost is up with the pricey craft beers.

        • +2

Asahi Black is also chefs kiss

        • Great summary. May as well think of them as different beers, and this is fine beer for $40.

        • Once you have gone Japanese brewed 500 ml cans there is no going back.

        Made In China, no thanks.

          Source of this claim?

        • +3

I bought this last deal they are definitely made in Australia.

I have both the 500ml cans (Made in Japan) and these bottles (Made in Australia). Both are good. Don't be a snob.

@Rail: His not..I'm not beer connoisseur and for a while I didn't even know there were versions brewed here… But i stopped ordering it at restaurants and stopped buying it because i thought they'd changed the taste and I didn't like the new taste… When I realised some are brewed here I checked and the not so good ones were the Aussie brewed ones… To some it doesn't matter to others it does… Each to their own and feel free to try etc but good to let people know there is a difference…

Non sense. Beer has better quality and taste in bottles compare to cans.

      • +1

I assumed this too. But apparently cans are better according to the professionals (beer judges/tasters)

      • +1

Try pouring the beer out of the can…

        • What's the problem?

  • How many can you order with the promo code?

    • 50 redemptions mentioned on previous post.

      • As in can you just the code twice?

  • Is it still made in China?

    • +1

      Not anymore.

  • Anyone getting the error unable to ship to Australia?

  • +3

    NSW and VIC only!

Excludes: Adelaide Metro, Brisbane Metro, Northern Territory, Perth Metro, QLD Far North, QLD Regional, QLD South East, SA Regional, Tasmania, WA Regional, WA Remote, PO Box

    (Now added to post).

    Locally brewed bottled Asahi? YUCK..

    • +2

It's better than the China brewed ones at least.

      • Very true.

    Bought, VIC, thanks OP

My last case of beer from CUB took 2 weeks to deliver and it was short expiry stock.

    Cheap for a reason

    • It doesnt die and neither do you, if its short dated. At worst it has a slight affect on the taste.

      Its beer, its not milk

      • Taste is definitely impacted.

Fresh beer is always much better than ones close to best before date

        • My beer here has an expiry of 2039 and will definitely improve over the next 10 to 20 years!

      • +1

While I agree with you , the issue I come across is the sheer amount of friends who check the dates of the alcohol and the minute it's past the BBD , they just assume it's bad..

    • It was more than 6 months expiry date for me. I probably bought the same time a few weeks ago.

    • Two times I have purchased cases from CUB and both times the case got "lost" by AusPost. Then they have to ship me another one which arrives but by that point it's been three weeks.

  • +1

I have not finished the first case I bought a few weeks ago yet. Here we go again, just take my money.

  • don't think the code works now
