    • Put in another Price Match request. I did that and was accepted with the item being in my cart at post-match price.

      • I have done 3 times already yesterday, got 2 approval , both had nothing added . 3rd time price match and yet got t he reply . Really wish deal is still available after I got back home today .

        • update.

4th request did the charm. i think the item has to be added first (at 2700ish price) then request it. about 30min later without even getting an email, the price becomes 2199. works now. awesome.

(did it in the cashreward app on my phone if you cant be near a computer).

  • Thanks OP for the nice find. Just pulled the trigger and got the good deal.

  • Done, thanks for sharing!
For those who didn't get price match products in the cart! just call them get fixed

  • How long does it take to show in cash rewards

    • Mine tracked within 10 minutes or so.

    • 20 minutes

      • RIP i haven't gotten it.

        • cancel and order again?

          make sure that you:
          - go to cashrewards
          - log in to cashrewards
          - disable any adblocker
          - click on sony store link in cashrewards
          - checkout on the sony store page that opens from cashrewards link

that's what I did, and it was tracked every time after 20 minutes (I placed 3 orders)

          • @shabaka: Might have to do that. Thanks!

          • @shabaka: Yea this is what i did. Haven't ever really had any luck with Cashrewards tbh

            • @superdoedoe: me too, this is the first time it worked/tracked. I am surprised!

            • @superdoedoe: i did it on the app. so thats pretty much 100% works.
but if all fails, i think cashrewards do have a buttom " missed rewards" as long as you got all the info (invoice, dates, payments)/proofs, you should be good.

  • Can I price match with jbhi-fi and still claim the cashback? I have lots of gift card with me (10% off) so thinking to use them up.

    • probably even better, since you don't have to wait 3 months for cashrewards and you already have 10% off via cards.

still should be able to claim Sony cashback

  • has anyone got a dispatch notification? my order is just "processing"

    • Same here, no shipping update yet

      • got shipping notification for lenses, but no the camera

even though the camera was ordered first

        • Oh you just said that as well LOL. But yeah for me, ordered camera first then lens an hour later.

          • @saltyas: yeah haha. what lenses you got?

            • @shabaka: I got the Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS, but I swear it said stock wasn't immediately available or something - looks to have changed now.

              • @saltyas: yes I remember it was showing backorder, available from 12 Nov so wasn't the longest wait

it's a good lens. I was considering it but opted for 70-200/4 instead for a bit more. I tend to use and value tele end more than wide, and I will eventually get a wide prime or the 16-35/4 Zeiss

for now 70-200 is something that I want more (outdoor sports)

                • @shabaka: Is there another lens that covers tele and good zoom for us?

                  • +1

@saltyas: 70-200/4 is the best value for money here if you need longer than 105mm

theres 70-300 option, more reach, sharper in the corners, but worse contrast

70-200/2.8 is huge and expensive. so is 100-400.

there's I think a siperzoom 24-240 but IQ is never satisfactory in these things, so I don't touch these

24-105 is your daily driver for almost everything, except outdoor sports. it's one lens that most people will never remove from the camera unless they have specific requirements for speed or depth of field or constantly need something wider

                    • @shabaka: Love it, thanks for the help, any recommendations on a portrait shooter and also astro if that's an area you know about perhaps?

                      • +1

@saltyas: it all depends on budget. and if you are going to earn money with it

85/1.4 and 135/2 are your bread and butter working portrait lenses. pros shoot that. alternatively 24-70/2.8 good universal lens that does well in portraits, and so is 70-200/2.8, but once again, heavy and expensive

for fun, 50/1.8 will make good portraits and costs and weighs nothing

24-105/4 will make good portraits too, when the background is further away and isn't busy. that reminds us that there isn't a perfect lens, we just need to learn how to use what we have

astrophotography you need something fast and wide I would imagine? I don't know much about it though, sorry. it probably needs to be a prime to avoid coma in the corners. anything 14 or 16 or 20mm.

                • @shabaka: Wait for the new 70-200 that's out within a month!

                • @shabaka: wait, they had 70200f4G on sale? i do get a 15% dicount on selected lens, didnt see this one in the list tho. damn i might have missed it.

                  • @Hornpub: yes it was.. sorry I wrote about it above

Camera Pro had it for $1528, I price matched plus tracked Cashrewards 10%

hold on for the black friday, maybe better options show up

currently it's on sale at DigiDirect, and also 20% off on DigiDirect eBay, but nothing like what it was in this deal, sadly

    • I just got mine for my lens but not my camera.

  • funny how a lot of people are saying that 70-200/4 is expensive. look at Canon! how about $2300 or more for a 70-200/4? and that's a sale price

I am super happy that I got 70-200/4 from Sony for $1300+ (after cashbacks and pricematch)

    • That's because it is now an old model!

  • Anyone else having issues doing a price match ? Once the fields are filled and clicked on "request a price match" it would just scroll up the page and won't process it. I am logged in to sony account and have made sure that every field is filled.

  • "The selected country is not supported for shipping and billing address."

    won't ship to Australia

    • are you sure you haven't selected Austria?

people always think that's where people eat kangaroos

      which is partially true

  • i am still using A7R , worth upgrading?

  • Sony extended til Nov 30. Here's hoping a better deal for Black Friday, hopefully on the A7C

  • Merged from Sony Alpha a7III Mirrorless Camera Body $2199 Delivered (+ $300 Bonus Cashback via Sony Redemption) @ CameraPro

For those who missed out on this deal there is another way to get it for not too much more.

Shopback are doing 8% vs the 10% that was available on Cashrewards.

If you can get Sony to price match Camerapro to $2199, the 8% Shopback works out to be ~$159.93. Couple that with Sony's $300 cashback on this camera you'll get a total of $459 back for a total outlay of 1739.07.

    • still using a7R v1, purely for photos, worth upgrading?

      • AFAIK, a7iii has much faster auto focus system, including eye auto focus, which is great for moving objects. If you find yourself miss a lot of action shots like birds and sports, then this will be a decent upgrade.

    • Should we wait until the Sony A7 IV drops the price or is good option to buy A7 III right now?

      • +1

it will still be double the price even if a74 sales for like 3400$.

    • For pics and video this is a no-brainer in comparison to the A7 IV with a $2K price difference. The A7 IV has seriously crippled video and nothing that really counts in the photo department. If you want 4K video get the A7 III now and if you outgrow it wait for the A7S III serious price drop or A7S IV. If you are a pro and earn your income with videos just get the FX6 if you find stock that is….:)

      • A7 IV has more crippled video than the A7 iii?

        • if you want to shoot 4K 24FPS in 8bit colour they are the same and that is what the majority of people really need, if you want a serious video upgrade for 60 and 120 FPS full frame with no rolling shutter, get the A7S III….

  • Has anyone's A7 III shipped and if so what time did you order? Can see the camera is on backorder now on the Sony website.

Ordered Thursday around 11pm and no update yet!

    • +1

yeah I ordered even earlier than you on Thursday, and no updates yet. I am worried

lenses were already shipped, and I ordered those after the camera

    • -1

I've been hammering Sonny on this for a few hours now, looks like they need a better website. they sold so many that they have no stock.

For my order they are saying earliest I can get it is next week. suckers! and no compensation offered for the delay.

    • +2

This is what Sony told me when I messaged them:

You would likely have seen at the time of purchase that your product was on stock, however due to unforeseen circumstances the product has been placed on Back order status. These dates can change at short notice due to delays of shipping containers from overseas and once it arrives in our warehouse it will ship out to you immediately.

The ETA for your order is currently November 11, 2021.

    • Just got an email for tracking for the a7iii, probably expecting next week delivery (not certain)

      • Just got an email as well!

      • Received camera just now.

      • Got mine today.

It's surprisingly noticably heavier than my A7 mkI. Tine will tell how this will play out on my wrist.

    • same here its in NSW now.

  • I bought the A7III and lens (24-105) in one purchase.

One has shipped but I am not sure which one.

    No tracking or update.

Now, with the 8% cashrewards, I'm think about getting another lens to use on the kids. 70-200 f/2.8 for the sports or 24-70 f/2.8 ?? ?? ?

Do these deals come up often? If so, I can use the camera first to work out what my really needs are?

    • Also bought the A7III and lens (24-105) last week but in two separate purchases. The lens arrived this morning, no tracking yet on the camera.

      • Did you get a Tracking Number?

        Mine just says dispatched.

        • You should get that email in a day or 2, then you can just click it and it will take you from Sony online to DHL or whichever courier.

    • Now, with the 8% cashrewards, I'm think about getting another lens to use on the kids.

CR is now 10% with Max if you have ANZ credit cards.

  • Is Sony doing any click frenzy stuff?

you can price match Camera Electronic till 11th, they have it for 2159

  • I wonder if Sony will match Digital Direct Ebay which has 20% off storewide ???

    • They don't price match coupons.

      From their exclusions:

      Cashback, credit card/payment method rebates and coupon offers (eg: cashback or reduced price requiring a coupon or electronic codewords);

  • +1

Lens dispatched but still waiting on the A7III

  • Not sure if anyone came across this issue, I followed the method - go to cashrewards, login cashrewards, ad blockers disabled, entered the sony link via cashrewards, the cashrewards notification was activated in the corner, checked out on the sony page from the cashrewards link. But unfortuneatly the purchase wasnt tracked? Didnt recieve any emails either? :\

    • +1

I've had a previous transaction not track with Sony and was able to submit a missing claim support ticket without issues earlier in the year. I think they make you wait a few weeks before you get the option to open a claim.

      • ahh okay, thank you! do you by any chance know whether to 'open a claim' appears in the 'click history' tab?

        • A "Send a claim" button appears on the right after a week or two.

          • @eecan: thanks very much, appreciate the help!

  • I tried to login Sony cashback with my Sony account and it won’t let me login. Do I need to signup a different account for the cash back? Thanks.

  • alright, my camera has been dispatched via DHL, it is in NSW now. i placed the order on 5th Nov.

    • received mine an hour ago

  • Camera seems to be listed for $2293 now, still a good price.

But looks like Georges have it listed for $2199 https://www.georges.com.au/sony-a7-iii-mirrorless-digital-ca…

  • Just had an email response from Sony, no stock available until early December… ordered on the 4th November :(

    • that sucks! mine was delivered on 15th, and I thought I had it bad. to wait till December is awful!

      • Pretty annoyed, I wouldn't have bothered if I knew it would take so long. Still no updates on shipping dates

  • -1

How are you guys so sure that the cashback will be rewarded and not ineligible?

    • What makes you think that the cashback would be ineligible? There's no terms of the cashback which would suggest this and I've had price matches + Sony cashbacks stack with Cashrewards before.

      • Nothing. Just being wary as it seems to good to be true. Still bought it though, just wanted to double check.

  • CashRewards are still doing 7% off on Sony, and some retailers are still doing discounts, so there is still a good deal on some of Sony gear

I price matched 16-35/4 from Georges Cameras $1144 vs Sony store $1479 and tracked $70 of cashback from CashRewards

  • Has anyone else's cashback been rejected or is missing from the shopback app? I can't see it at all, and it's been over 30 days, so I can't raise a missing cashback notification.

Sufficed to say, quite bewildered by the whole ordeal, it was listed in the app when I did purchase it originally, now it's gone. Very odd.

    • Mine's still pending (under Cashrewards).

Has anyone received the cashback from Sony? They approved my claim on 16 nov and, going by their stipulated 28 business days time, they should pay it by today. I'm really doubtful of that happening.

  • Has anyone received their cashback yet?

    • Yes from Cashrewards.

      Not yet from Sony.

      • Just got an email from Sony they are processing the payment and I should expect it within 3 days. Yay!

    • Got mine from Cashrewards, still waiting for Sony.

      • Got mine from Sony today.
