The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - One of the single greatest trilogy of movies ever made. Absolute timeless classics
The Hobbit Trilogy - Basically the exact opposite.

Recently for the first time gave the hobbit a rewatch after the JB deals. Wasnt as bad as I remembered it in the movies. Way better than the new star wars 'trilogy'.
      3.5 Spuds.

        Taters

        • I use the couch potato metric which is spuds

Bought it in 4k for both trilogies for $103. The rest of all this stuff is overkill.

I have this large set in DVD already, so I bought the trilogy only again just for 4k HDR. I don't mind having all the 'making of' and behind the scenes stuff on DVD quality.

Remember that there is only one disc of extras on this set. The 4K discs (same as the ones we had on the trilogy sets) and the Blu Rays (new remasters) are just movies only. The only extras disc houses the Alamo Drafthouse LOTR cast reunions.

    Pass from me.

I'll buy a set that has all behind the scenes extras in at least a 1080p quality. Till then I have the 4k Trilogy sets and the Extended Blu Ray sets with the Extras on DVD to tide me over.

    • Kind was in the same boat. Heard this was coming out and then decided to just get the 4K in steelbooks.. already have the original DVD, and Blu Rays with extras etc.

  • I can't keep track of all the different editions, extras, etc. I have the extended editions on dvd. I've heard the blu rays had colour issues. If I just get the 4k extended versions of the movies, will I be missing out on anything? (I got the impression all extras are still in SD)

  • Would pay more for a version without the hobbit movies

  • Are there import costs for this at all?

  • But does this have the fabled deleted scenes like Eowyn and Faramir's wedding?
