WinPatrol 2012

From: www.winpatrol.com

Two Day Only 99 Cent Experimental Sale!

If you've ever considered upgrading to WinPatrol PLUS today is the day. Even the illegal sites online can't offer you a deal like this.

See http://billpstudios.blogspot.com/ for conditions and details.

You don't have to be doing anything wrong on the Internet to become a casualty of malware. WinPatrol takes snapshot of your critical system resources and alerts you to any changes that may occur without your knowledge. WinPatrol was the pioneer in using a heuristic behavioral approach to detecting Zero-Day attacks and violations of your computing environment. WinPatrol continues to be the most powerful system monitor with a small memory footprint so you won't even know it's running.

WinPatrol's easy tabbed interface allows you to explore deep inside your computer without having to be a computer expert. A one-time investment in WinPatrol PLUS provides a unique experience you won't find in any other software. WinPatrol works and plays well with others so it will complement any popular AntiVirus program scanner you currently use. The difference is you'll never have to pay ever again for our PLUS enhancement.

My Comments:

The software also has a free version available via www.winpatrol.com

Here's the comparison between the free and paid versions: http://www.winpatrol.com/compare.html

Also welcome comments from ozbargainers about how WinPatrol compares with other similar programs.

I am not associated with WinPatrol in anyway.

  • Yikes, lets hope the software is of a higher standard then what the web page layout suggests.

    • Due to your comment, I had to view it… Talk about stepping back in time…

    • This software has been around since pages looked like that. From my understanding it's borderline intentional. I agree with the devs POV, I'd rather have a super functional program then an super flashy website. I'm having trouble pin pointing when he first started developing WinPatrol, but his blog posts go back to late 2005 however I have a feeling I was using this on Win 95/98.

      • Right at the bottom of his website:

        Published Copyright Date 11/19/97

    • I think the software even comes with Millennium Bug protection.

  • +1

I have used the free version for many years - and just downloaded the Plus version.

For anyone wondering about if it's good or not there's more than 600 reviews of the software on CNET see: http://download.cnet.com/WinPatrol/3000-8022_4-10129149.html

Versus 23,603 (within the last 4 months) for the latest edition of AVG Free….
I wonder what I'll be picking.

On a side note, is it really a bargain if it's crap?
P.S. Scroll to the bottom of the site…
      "Published Copyright Date 11/19/97" Bwhahah!!!!

      • Did you completely ignore the link 'hello007' took the time to post?!
This software has little, to nothing to do with AVG apart from being "Security" related.
The software might not be pretty but it's very functional and a huge bargain. Take your ignorant neg vote elsewhere.

      • This is the second time the dev has done a $0.99 cent sale and it was huge the first time - http://lifehacker.com/5459598/grab-windows-monitoring-tool-w…
A bargain worthy of the front page IMHO.

      • Versus 23,603 (within the last 4 months) for the latest edition of AVG Free…

I don't think you understand the difference between Winpatrol & AVG.

Yes some great 90's web design, your software would have to be good to get away with the web site! I like it anyway

  • Gave a plus, got 1 copy!

  • Can't see that I am getting much benefit over the free version
But hey I've been using Scotty for years as a free Malware software so 99c seems a good donation for years of service and get the upgrade too
