+2 votesThis is how I do it…
- Keep a catalogue of all my apps on App Shopper (using the "own it" checkbox as I purchase it or retrospectively go through apps one by one and add them).
- Review price reduced apps obsessively on a daily basis through App Shopper and App Zapp. Further review to see if they are good (decent review score from 148Apps or Toucharcade in App Shopper OR showing a decent ratio of positive to negative votes in App Zapp). If free, and not released in the past few days or not on a continous monthly cycle of going free (App Shopper/App Zapp shows the price history) OR if at a too tempting price of 99c and and never been at that price before, get the app.
- If free space is running low, pull up Gamecenter - if any apps show as not having achievements, just delete the app. Alternatively, review "my apps" using App Shopper and if the app hasn't been updated in a long time, just delete the app.
- Review "my apps" from time to time using App Shopper to "rediscover" any apps purchased previously - they may have received a recent update.
bigosmallo on 26/04/2012 - 23:50 ¶I just delete apps I haven't used in the past few weeks. I've got a 16GB with 4GB room still left.

I just purchase them on the Mac and never install them on the device.
Perhaps we can convince Apple to allow us to store our apps in the cloud and then we wouldn't have to download them at all.
And then convince them that when an app becomes free everyone that stores apps in the cloud automatically gets it. No more need to follow App-o-day.
Strand0410 on 29/04/2012 - 23:27 ¶You can't run complex apps or programs from the cloud as the computing has to occur on your device. The cloud is only appropriate for discrete files and basic documents.
+1 voteI just put them on my PC and add/remove from there (Keep a backup copy of the iTunes library on external hard drive which also saves re-downloading if I want to reinstall Windows, etc). You don't really need to carry around every app on your portable device ;-)

Cheers OP, might be a game worth checking out http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-01-19-smash-cops-revi...
