Shhh, don't say that name too loud…he's like the Kraken, the devourer of PS3s! Should'st thou wake him, his buying & reselling fury will be indomitable!!!

  • Just a gentle reminder - be careful when using cheap card reader.

I purchased two of these from Meritline some time ago. The quality is acceptable, but you can tell it's a cheap. I lost all data when using this thing to transfer data from camera to PC - don't know what happened, the data in the memory card (it contained my wedding video! I wish I had never used the card reader) was lost when I plugged the card reader into my PC.

I already threw those card readers away and decided to go for a more reliable card reader.

I don't think it's the card readar error. It's just simple metal built in side the reader. Unless you did something wrong, i don't think the memory card data can be deleted by the reader itself.

      • I've seen it happen with cheap readers. Another common problem with some cheap readers is it doesn't have any error checking. The photos will be copied to your hard disk, but when reviewing it you will notice the pictures are corrupt. Sometimes with black patches and sometimes with distorted images.
