Hey man do you mind explaining how these work exactly? I have a C1 77 OLED and I reckon I would use something like this but I'm not exactly sure what it does?

    • +1

It basically runs Android apps and displays them on TV

      • Usually much better than the built in TV OS…

    • I'm not exactly sure what it does?

      It's used to watch Netflix

      • amongst many other things…

        • True, can also watch Stan

          • @jv: Amazon Prime, Disney +, ABC iView, SBS OnDemand, Plex, Kodi, Jellyfin, Spotify, games, game emulators, game streaming from steam/google/microsoft, etc.

    • It works beautifully with my LG C1 OLED. It runs Android TV and supports the advanced features of the TV like HDR. Apparently it's also good for gaming, but I haven't tried that. Among all the Android TV devices I've had and tried, this is the most pleasurable to use.

$349 is way too much though. Around $250 is pretty good. Or you can get the non-Pro version (nearly as good) for under $200.

yep if you can't travel due to covid then you can finally use your qantas points on items thats so good. I didn't even know you could spend it on that.

  • +1

Where's the deal here? 60,000 points = $600+ in value

  • +4

60k qantas points… Redeeming for this is getting a really bad rate for your Qantas points. Qantas points are valued at 1.8c each and you can normally get much better value if using for flights. You could fly return Sydney to Hong Kong in economy for the same amount of points :|

Even calculating at 0.8cent a point that's still $480. How is this a deal?

  • +2

Lol this deal is terrible. It’s not even on sale. You may as well post every item on the Qantas store here if this is considered a ‘bargain’.

  • Wow…

    Maybe also post on OzExpensive

  • +2

This is not a deal. There are many better ways of spending your Qantas points even if you are not flying.

  • +2

Not even close to a deal.

  • OP lost his marbles? You can buy these brand new for cheaper on ebay.

  • Same price as for example Good Guys and Harvey Norman.
The only 'deal' would be if you have no cash to buy one, so you use your 'free' points.

  • This is a very uneconomical way of using points and even the $349 price is high end RRP, these usually can be had for less on many periodic sales that occur.
