    OLED > QLED.

    Also don't @ me that guy who's always talking about solar and oled.

    • +1

      I have had OLED and QLED, and am of the same opinion.

      I'd go OLED everytime

      • +2

        If you need the extra brightness then this screen is better, otherwise yeah OLED has much better picture quality.

        • +1

          search for banding and dirty screen effect.

          I had my Samsung QLED screen replaced under warranty for the mentioned issues, but they are still there, only a bit less apparent.

          Learnt to live with it…

          • @TheOneWhoKnows: That's annoying. I have a QN90 and have no noticeable issues. But yeah I guess that is another advantage of OLED.

      • +4

        I have an OLED already but it's too dark… sometimes you can't see anything. GOT S8E3 is a perfect example. You won't be able to see anything on that screen. That's why I decided to go for a bright tv this time and move the OLED to a bit more darkroom.

        • I see your point mate. It's very bright.

        • +1

          GOT has a season 8? Weird…

    • +1

      I have an oled. Its great but after 4 years there is significant screen burn in. Its a real bummer. Had i known this, i wouldn't have bought it.

      • The older one's definitely have that issue, C1/G1 onwards that issue seems to be mostly controlled.

  • Wouldn't LG C1 better choice for similar price range?

  • +3

    I think you need to fix the title with QN95B instead of QN90A

    • Thanks mate. made the change

    If you really wanted to buy a 65” Samsung TV (for reasons I don’t quite understand) surely you’d wait for the QD-OLED.

    I bought A80J for $5500 from Binglee with $1000 master gift card few days ago. In $4500 A80j 77 inch. But still waiting for the delivery.

  • So if this includes Samsung One Connect box, which has a non in wall rated power cable, any wall mounting will require power behind the tv (and the One Connect box behind the tv).

    Either that or HN install is going to look like arse with cabling external to the wall.

    So caveat emptor on this one.

    • You can put the box on the Tv stand or entertainment unit under the Tv. There is only one cable coming out. With the Samsung Slim wall mount, there will be no gap.

      • 5k tv with wall mounting, ending in exposed cables, no thanks. Looks cheap.

        • Best to get a sparky to install;

          A recessed power point behind the TV
          A conduit/duct for the one connect cable from the back of TV down to the entertainment unit
          Another power point behind the entertainment unit for the one connect box and other devices
          A network port/antenna behind entertainment unit if required

  • FWIW Samsung EPP has the 75" for $4,261.72 and 65" for $3,331.72

    • Is it QN95B or QN90B?

      • qn95b

        qn90b is $3874.22 as a 75" or $3021.72 as a 65"

        • What is FWIW ? How to get access ? I have Samsung education website and in it the price is around 4900.
          Can you please advise?
          Thanks in advance

          • +2

            @April33: FWIW = for what it's worth
            EPP = Employee Purchase Program
            Samsung = Samsung

    • All 2022 Samsung Tv models are 50% off on The EPP portal for Samsung employees till mid May.

      • What does that bring down the 75" QN95B to?

      • Can I know the price of the 75in QN90B and QN95B on the EPP please?

        • +1

          Go the Samsung.com/au. See the RRP price for the 2022 model TV's there. Divide the price by 2. The QN95B price was already quoted just 3 comments above

    Imagine spending almost 5 grand on an LCD TV. Wow.

    LG C1 77" got down to roughly this price a few times, or wait for QD-OLED.

    • *Mini-LED TV

      • -2

        Still LCD, just a variety of the underlying technology. Still inferior to OLED. Still overpriced Samsung rubbish.

        • Nah, OLED can't get as bright. And burn-in/degradation is still an issue. So in my humble opinion OLEDs are inferior 🤓🤣

          • -1

            @neezy: Cool, enjoy your blooming and non-black blacks, I guess. No DV either on Samsung junk.

            Fwiw I have no issue with LCD in and of itself. The technology has a place, but it isn’t worth OLED money.

            • @saitaris: Yeah man, agree 😆 I was just messing with you.

              I think there still could be an argument for an 85" mini-LED… but yeah, the drop in C1 prices, esp the smaller sizes, does make it difficult to go past.

              I've done my rants about the Samsung sub-panel drama, which is why I'm no longer getting one. I'll most likely get a 65" C1 and also 100" Laser TV to cover both bases 😁

              It will be interesting when the QD-OLED is released but i rekon it'll be heaps expensive. Also when micro-LED comes out (whenever that will be 😅)

  • This?, or 8K Hisense for around the same price?, or Sony X90J?

    I do like bright screens.

    • +1

      I believe 8K is kinda pointless, unless you have heaps of 8K content to access, or the biggest screen in a tiny area (i.e. viewing at a close distance).

      I've read that the Hisense Mini-LED (U9G) is meant to be the closest to OLED out of all the LED TVs… but dunno if we get the same spec in Australia as the ones reviewed online e.g. US market.

      Samsung also notorious for changing the sub-panel type on their TVs without documenting it anywhere e.g. VA vs IPS

      The Sony isn't Mini-LED, but at least you know what you are getting, lol
