  • Those Bahco Ergo multigrips are the best around. I bought a set of the 250mm's for a similar price delivered from Ireland, of all places, 6 months ago, after using a mate at works pair. They grip better than any I've used, and the quick adjust mechanism is great when working one handed under a machine or a tight spot. The handles are also slightly springy, so you can use less force to hold onto workpieces. I'd say they're a must-have in any fitter, mechanic, or other similar tradesmens toolbox.

I also bought the Fragram 42 piece combination spanners from Tools R Us and was very surprised at the quality. They're polished and man are they tough. I've hung pipes off them trying to undo rusty bolts and never snapped one. Unlike the $10 set of no-names I bought from Bunnings ages ago….impossible to snap - because they were so soft, they opened up when undoing bolts! Sacrificial spanners!

However, from memory they were $200 6 months ago (now $219), and I also talked them into throwing in a free mash hammer.

  • Damn thats a good price for good multigrips.
Im trying to think of a reason to buy them, but I don't think I have any need.

Still waiting on the damn Sidchrome toolkit from the Wheels Magazine promotion.

    This thing looks awesome

I've checked the prices and they're not cheap. The Multi-Grips can be had cheaper here:

    • And save another 20% on orders over $100 by taking up The Tool Shack store credit offer.

      • That is a really weird system.
Don't they realise you can put % discounts on eBay products now?

An Extra Inch for $1.50. Count me in with the OP.

    • The 9" on offer are a product of much lower quality, they are not the ergo series, have a crappier handle and I believe they lack the metal locking system and are basically the one of the lowest quality grips Bahco make. The 8224's are a much better buy for only a dollar or two for a far superior product.

    lol

    • Agreed, I always thought it was a funny name. I was also actually looking at the fragram 42 piece spanner set as posted above, I was told by one of the workers that there was a price rise at the start of the year hence the new costing.

      • If you're after combination spanners they are seriously good spanners, and cheap too. I've been a contract fitter for 18 years now and have seen and used plenty of different brands of spanners in over 100 different workshops and these would have to be among the best set of spanners I've used.

An added bonus is that they have ALL the sizes - 6 through 28, 30 and 32. Most sets are missing 14 or 15, and nearly all miss 18.

They're on special on Ebay for the next 3 hours (now 8.15 pm Melbourne time) at $197.10
