$81 on TGG Commercial for those able to get it there (not delivered tho)

Why is PPS almost never on these chargers?.Almost every no name charger has PPS.

    • +1

      Still a new technology.

    • Because Apple doesn't support it?

    • +1

If you are after PPS the Satechi GaN one has PPS.

    • I would guess it's because these chargers are targeted more toward laptops and laptops don't use the PPS standard.

There are options out there if you need a multi port charger. I have a Satechi 4 port USB-C 165W charger which does support PPSaccording to the text on it, though I haven't tried it.

      • Sometimes Satechi doesn't list but it does. I have the Satechi 100W GaN charger and it does support PPS but is not advertised by Satechi. I can Super fast charge the S20 FE and teardown video also shows it supports PPS.

This is a great charger and a good price. Perfect for those wanting to charge a large MacBook.

  • +1

Wow, no PPS. How is this even $90 🤯

    • +3

It delivers 100W and is a quality design compared to Heymix.

        • +3

          Heymix is a lot better,

I heard from some previous deal, they are not safe but I am not sure.

          • @superforever: Using mine for several months now both at work and home and never had an issue. Doing the job well for my laptops and mobiles.

            • +1

              @Fredfloresjr:

Why would you pay 90$ without the PPS

You don't really need PPS. How often do you need to quick charge your phone?

Heymix is a lot better, cheaper

By what metric? There are a lot of reports of failure, and overheating, and they are badly rated on Amazon.

              can vouch with the design

Torn it down? inspected the components? Measured the quality of the power?

        • +4

          Can vouch with the design

Numerous, numerous other people in other threads will disagree with you. Heymix chargers are not high quality. Lots of reports of them smoking/stopping working after some months.

          can deliver 100W too.

Heymix’s 100W adapter is roughly the same price. I’d go with this Belkin unit any day to not have a fire risk in my home or risk damaging a laptop/expensive devices.

People buying this are generally after a laptop charger hence why PPS is not included.

          • +1

@JSONBourne: I'd argue that people with a laptop still often have a fancy phone that they want to charge using pps. The converse is obviously not true

            • @justtoreply: Absolutely. It’s all what you’re after and if it needs to come in one device.

In my new this Belkin is more for charging a laptop with the added side benefit of being able to charge your other devices reasonably quickly too. Otherwise you may as well get a cheaper unit with PPS at a lower max wattage.

          • @JSONBourne: Not gonna argue with only 3 reviews at Amazon. I am commenting based on my usage and experience.

How good that you know you don't have risk damaging your laptop with this Belkin.

            • +4

@Fredfloresjr: Belkin comes with a 2 year warranty and on their power boards a $25k connected device guarantee. Heymix will ignore your messages and fall back on Amazon’s good customer service inside 12 months. Who do you trust more?

While this device only has 3 reviews, other Belkin devices are at least generally 4 stars and above. I’m not even a Belkin fanboy, try Anker, ZMI or even Samsung if you prefer another option.

I’ve seen plenty of devices in my old workplaces where dodgy charging adapters have resulted in premature battery wear or blown the boards on expensive devices. It boggles the mind people would roll the dice on their devices all to save $10.

            • +1

@Fredfloresjr: Lol, based on a sample of ONE. You got lucky, your one didn't blow yet, while plenty of others have reported problems.

Then given its a generic Chinese charger, I tend to believe the reported problems.

              • @dyziplen: You forgot Belkin is another generic Chinese charger.

                • +1

@Fredfloresjr: Of course its made in China, and Foxconn might be selling it under another brand in addition to Belkin. But there is Foxconn generic, then there is Chinese generic.

                • @Fredfloresjr: Made in China is kind of meaningless. There is huge variation in quality of items made in China.

It's pretty much guaranteed that a well known brand with a history of putting out products would be better than a generic charger with a random brand name slapped onto it.

            • @Fredfloresjr: 100W charger looks like one of Heymix's better chargers. Hop over to the Heymix 120W charger which is more comparable and you have 15% of reviews with the product DOA.

There are other stories overheating car chargers, offering a refund on the condition bad reviews are removed.

              • @ihfree: I got the 120 ones. Two of them when they went on promo. The universal charger at my work station (Nurse Station). Hospital still not in fire so yeah. ALL I can say, damn charger is a machine when charging your phones and our work laptops.

                • +1

@Fredfloresjr: OK! It's great that it's working for you. Chances are you would get a working product with the Heymix. You are just more likely to have:

                  • Dirty power which would be more subtle in the issues it causes. This can lead to premature failure of attached devices.
                  • Higher risk of failure for the charger itself
                  • Higher chance of a DOA device
                  • Low-quality chargers can lead to dead devices
                  • Higher risk of fire
                  • +1

@ihfree: Thank you for speaking sense in this thread. All to save $10.

      • Seems to have opened the can of worms. No arguments here about the quality of Belkin, just really surprising for the price.

        • +1

Thing is, if you spend couple grand on phones and laptops, why are you skimping a couple dollars on a cheap charger?

This list is a bit old now

          https://lygte-info.dk/info/ChargerIndex%20UK.html

But plenty of generics and fakes are not up to par and have safety issues, and this is back in the days of 5W, 10W maybe up to 30-40W. Now we are talking 100W at 20V out instead of 12 or 5.

Heymix is simply importing generics with their names slapped on, while Belkin is an actual company. There might be a day when Heymix becomes the next Anker, but the day is not here yet, and no point on skimping on a couple bucks.

  • What are some good charging cables to go with these?

  • +1
    • Nice work - cancelled my order above for the Anker cables with Amazon and went with some of these instead.
