Can you please suggest mild laksa paste (e.g. Ayam one is too hot for my taste) ?
Can You Please Suggest Mild Laksa Paste (E.g. Ayam One Is Too Hot for My Taste) ?

Thank you. I'll give it a try. I am just wondering is it really hot (lots of pepper) or not ?
Agreed, Tean's is excellent and I always keep stock at home.
PS I am not from Malaysia but frequently visit Malaysian restaurants.

Amazon also has.
Recommend Tean's as well, their curry is great too.
Spicyness may depend on personal taste, I think it's just right.
the one linked is good
might be a bit spicy so make sure u add the recommended amount of water and coconut milk (slightly more)
then u finish boiling, get a laddle and get rid of the chilli oil on the topthat should be fine
Take what you have, add normal cream or cook with some potato. Will full the heat
this is the best I have found but it can be a bit hot
Recipe tin eats recommends Por Kwan which Amazon also stocks. Its very good.
This is my recommendation:
https://themalaya.com.au/shop/cooking/laksa-paste/As with most pre-made pastes etc., add less paste or more coconut milk to suit your taste.
Unfortunately when I add less paste to make sure that laksa is not too hot / spicy it becomes too watery and less savory.
Ok, so add more coconut milk
Try.. your usual Laksa Paste (E.g. Ayam One Is Too Hot for My Taste) at half strength.
I did and it was still too hot.
Laksa is not for you Gwielo.
:-)
You can add 10%-20% more water and coconut milk. You'll lose a bit of flavour so add a bit more seasoning after like salt & msg, chicken powder, soy sauce, fish sauce or oyster sauce (pick one or two, not all). You can even replace the water with chicken stock and just add a bit of salt.
This is hands down the best and most authentic one i've tried. P.S I'm from Malaysia.
