  • $150 for 6 sounds tempting….

  • +3

Great for those big Lego builds.

What a coincidence! ALDI are also selling a similar product (17 or 33 drawer options) in an upcoming Special buys for $24.99…

    • +6

18/39 vs aldi 17/33 - seems like bunnings takes the edge, good on aldi for forcing a more competitive hand from bunnings
i am impressed the aldi ones are apparently made in germany though

      • +3

Any idea what the dimensions are for the Aldi?

        Edit: It's quite a bit smaller than the bunnings one. 40.5x 30.5 x13.5 vs 47.5 x 38 x16

      • One of the comments on the bunnings website was noting that that because of the interlocking system, there are channels at the base that make it unstable if you want to use it freestanding, making it more likely to topple over.

So while interlocking element is a plus for the bunnings product, the freestanding element is a bonus for aldi.

      • I got an Aldi one over a year ago for $20. If Bunnings had priced matched this one then, I would have gladly gone Chinese.

      Germany vs China - FIGHT!

      • Quality vs Quantity

    • They price beat Aldi hot glue gun last year. Probably bunnings realised their glue gun is better than aldi and didn't continue this year. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/639424

Looks like it's the same as this item on Amazon, which I bought about a year ago, along with the 60 drawer variety. I use them for electronics components. The drawers are a bit loosey goosey, but otherwise they're fine. At this price, it's definitely great value.

    Here's the full range:
    - 60 Drawers ($29.99)
    - 39 Drawers ($24.99)
    - 18 Drawers ($24.99)
    - 12 Drawers ($19.99)
    - 1 Drawer ($16.50)

    • 60 drawers looks the most useful for me - must go down to Bunnings!

    • +1

      The amazon one cannot interlock.

      • Ah yeah, good catch

        • +7

quite the opposite. no catch at all.

          • +2

@seamonkey: This is Amazon, not Catch.

            • @bio: @bio nice catch. I took it as a catch - like a latch. I'm getting all Dr. Suess now.

              • @seamonkey: I agree. Catch is no match when Amazon is in the zone.

    • +1

      a bit loosey goosey

Maybe it just needs a bit of righty tighty

    • Are these all retail prices? Can't see anything about them being on sale

  • +1

    More lego storage woot woot!

    • I have the 7,400 piece Tallneck MOC incoming and its not sorted into bags… Glad I have 4 of these to help with that.

  • Wonder if either of these would fix in a Kallax cube

  • +5

I have the Aldi ones - they come up every 3 months or so. I just went up to Bunnings and ended up buying 6 of this theirs after being able to compare. Definitely better quality than the Aldi ones. The Montgomery ones are a bit bigger and more robust.
If you are going to sit them flat the two bottom rails that are for interlocking may be netter to cut off.
The bottom left and right draws don't have the draw slide guide rails on the outside corner sides - manufactured that way probably to get the curve of the outside box shell. So those draws don't come in/out as smoothly.
Only the 18, 39 and 60 Draw versions are on sale. The other ones have a different footprint size so may not interlock and are not on sale. i.e. the 12 draw for $20 is it's normal price and it is half the size of the 18 draw version which has bigger draws.
For those in Brisbane, Bunnings Keperra now only have 1 of the 39 Draw left, and 3 or 4 of the 60 draw and 3 or 4 of the 18 Draw.

    • Bunnings keperra seems overall really generously stocked — is it because it's still a newish /undeveloped area? I snagged the last ex-display heat pump dryer in all Brisbane from there earlier this week

      • Old area, but new-ish Bunnings store. I think the staff there just have their act together as there are a lot less empty spots on the shelves due to stoking issues like so many other Bunnings stores. The staff in that store always seem happy and are actually helpful.

    • ended up buying 6

      for Lego?

      • For electronics. I just need to get them full before they get stolen for Lego.

  • +3

    Spotlight have them too https://www.spotlightstores.com/art-craft/art-craft-storage/…

If you get the timing right, you can use the $40 off $100 to get them even cheaper. Think I paid about $25 each for mine

  • Wow, just in time.
I have 39 drawers one and started thinking of adding one or two 18x, but full price is a bit pricey.
    Cool!

  • +2

Went to get 1. Came home with 6.

    Am I doing it right?

    • How many things you plan to store in those? I got one 60 and one 39 drawer mainly looking to store batteries but might look to return or gift one.
